That's a great things are going, rag norm a try not to end up looking like Hermes evil twin. Which, depending on how things with the engines suss out, may not be an entirely bad thing, I suppose....
kiewanbeans Unfortunately not, i'm sorry! 😭
This is going to be awesome!
Thanks for the opportunity, you do an awesome job Sarah!
Hello... US residents only?
This bug is so lucky to have found a Sarah. She just makes good stuff better.
I’d take off the hinges of the rear panel and make it into a true four door. Easier entrance and exit. The EV Beetle is breaking with tradition by being built as a four door. I’d vote for Sarah being creative.
Sarah, you might not think we appreciate the quality and effort in this content, but.. omg, wow. Awesome.

Peeling the masking off something you've just painted is definitely one of the most satisfying parts, something the people that see the end result dont get to appreciate.
Sarah is always so a-peeling. Great project.
I love that you are a rescuer not a destroyer! So satisfying to see some love thrown at the old bug!
Right hand drive... Left hand drive....

Easily the most entertaining car videos on CZcams. Both informative & amusing at the same time. You'd have to pay me money to watch car paint videos but Sarah has a way to make watching paint dry appealing. Sarah, you are literally one in a million.
Love that color ! Great gun skills to paint underneath the dash with no drips. Peelings. Nothing more than peelings. Trying to forget my, peelings of love.
"hey man you know I'm really ok"
I really can't wait to see you paint this entire car. I have no doubt it will be entertaining!
Hell yeah, i'm excited to!
@@SarahnTuned I see your shift key fails too.
i'm...I'm.
@@garyworokevich2524 shift key?
@@SarahnTuned Some call it a pause key with an upward pointing arrow.
Years ago I remember it called a shift key.
It was adopted from manual typewriters.
To shift from lower case to upper case letters.
Shift lock is now caps lock.
Mine fails from time to time, causing me to correct the little error. It's a pain in the @#^!
Glad you put so much attention to detail on all your projects. You are a inspiration to my daughter and me. We are currently fixing up a 96 accord for when she is ready to drive.
Ferdinand Porsche will be proud of this vehicle when it's finished 👍👍👍👍
My first car was a 1969 window van , tan body , white bumpers & rims . The owner before me turned a bench seat side ways & built the engine box into a bed . Yep !!!
I value the fact I can watch Sarah work on a car and there's so much detail. I've always wondered how beetles were mechanically and this totally has been revealed just watching her series.
Great job! I refinished collision repair for 28 years. You did a great job of explaining things. And you're entertaining. I would like to see you wearing eye protection more. But I rarely did either so it's just the dad in me. Best of luck!!
Fabulous and hilarious video (robotic chicken on a stick?? 😂). Face it, we devoted regulars absolutely knew you were going to go far beyond your minimalist “plan” when you started this. BTW, Goo Gone on a microfiber would help with that adhesive. 😉 Thank you! 👍👍👍
Yes, Goo Gone is Great, It has never failed me. Just spray it on, let it soak, and peel away the nasty.
I was alive in the 70s, and fascinated as a little kid with VW Bugs (the noises they made, the oddball look). I remember a lot of them in this color, which was totally unique to VW, nothing else on the road was this color.
Everyone that has worked on a VW and messed the windshield. Has without fail broken one at one time or another. WELCOME TO THE CLUB! 😋
So pleased that you're painting Ragnar after all! I knew you couldn't resist. Your prep and painting skills are an homage to your teacher. My lifetime as a painter makes me happy with you. Can't wait for more. However, between vids and project cars you're working your ass off for us. Thanks.
Love how almost stressed you get to do a perfect job. You must have made your CO's happy and sometimes frustrated. Nice work Sarah!
I love the color. You are really good at working on cars, being in front of the camera, and telling your jokes! I love watching all your videos. Can’t get enough of them. Thank you for entertaining us! BTW, thank you for your service! I’m embarrassed it took me so long to acknowledge that. 🇺🇸
Repainting an old car with multiple prior paint jobs is harder than painting on a new car. Much respect to see you prepping and spraying this old bug.
Love the beetle, a period correct steering wheel would be the cherry on top!
Thank you Sarah! Your OCD and humor are appreciated. :D
That color is fire. It allows for more light reflection and you can appreciate the build quality because you can actually see it inside.
the plastic piece at 2:45 is a cover for the door hinge screw. The VW smell is usually the horse hair padding in the seats and headliner
I really like the color. Original is always good.😊
You put more care into prepping and painting your door jambs, and sundries, than most regular people put into entire cars. It looks so good.
That's why most paint jobs suck, lol. Prep work is everything!
@@SarahnTuned yes!! Recently bought a GX460 and the dealer scratched it (detailing after a software issue).. I was gutted but refused to let them repaint it. I’d rather live with scratches than bodywork that wasn’t SarahSpec(tm)
Hey Sarah, The color looks great something hopefully interesting the Beatles album Abbey Road has a beetle on the cover which certainly looks like it toga white looking at it it’s older then a 69 but the album was released in 69 so if someone asks how many Beatles are on the cover of abbey road the correct answer is five🙂 🐧🐧🐧👍

Sarah's compulsive cleanliness is extremely satisfying to watch.
Great job !! Nice to have the space and spray booth... ive done that in a one stall garage .. yeah fun . There is a plastic bushing under the shifter for the shift rod... common when they wear out its slop o matic time... with all the stuff you accomplish it shouldn't be a problemo !!!..
I like the white... my current bug is a Original white bug painted black.. one day im going to paint it white again or blood red... both vw colors
You are doing a great job on my car can’t wait to get it.😀😀
“Learnt”. Love it😂. Caught myself saying this at work today….Sarah, such a bad influence. 😃
Holy cow 🐄! This lady sure pays attention to detail in her restoration work, will turn out better than new 😀
Hi Sarah nice vintage bug.
🏁
Thank you Sarah for doing this again. Creating unmissable outstanding content.
Sarah this video was great. Made me nostalgic for the simplicity that every VW owner of that era can appreciate. Seeing that raw interior after prep, then painted - beautiful ❤️!
I always overthink things and worry I'm going to screw something up. You just get in there and get it done. That's what I love about your channel.
I'm liking this series more than I should...
Greatness is rarely appreciated, so from one of many.Thank you for hard work, tenacity and love for what you're doing.Go Sarah Go
100% agree...There's not much more satisfying than peeling the dried paint out of a five gallon bucket or peeling the masking off after painting.. :)
Keep in mind that for classics like that, there are companies that sell radios which look like the period, but have modern amenities like a digital tuner and Bluetooth playback from your phone.
Thanks for another great episode! The steering wheel belongs with the old seats and door panels.
I agree; we need a nice
Wolfsburg steering wheel just like an original bug.
In the older VW's as with many German cars of that era, the stench was horse sweat! The upholstery was padded with "Gummi hair". Horse hair matted with rubber cement into padding sheets. Those got placed on the spring frames and then the upholstery went atop that. On a hot day the smell was pretty crazy. in 1977 my first car was a rusted out 69 Beetle. Your episode here brought back memories that smell! I used to open the windows before even getting into it to drive it.
Lucky winner whoever wins this bug. Your personal touches are what makes your projects special Sarah. Hooray for Charlie who always seems to be there at the right time when you need any assistance. Thanks also for the guys next door for their part in helping you make someone happy! Stay safe my mates!😊💖😁🛠
Man! You are the bomb when it comes to restoring and getting it done right! Great job Sarah! 👍👍👍
Interior paint came out great. Lots of hard work on your part to make that happen. I'm old enough to remember many a VW with that color and it's a great choice.
i couldnt stop watching all the sanding and gunk getting vacuumed up and witnessing the car go from "before" to "after" right before my eyes. The time jumps make it look so easy, but you know that sanding just a 5x5inch curved underside area smooth probably took 90 minutes.
I really like how other "project youtubers" buy cars like lambos or astons and heres Sarah, working on a Beetle.
Love what you're doing Sarah X
Great video Sarah! You have some mad painting skills!! Keep up the great work.
You're tugging on my heart strings Sarah. I love You're laid back fun attitude and you're beautiful 😍 I had a 70' and a 66' back when I was in my early twenties...
When I've taken my older vehicles to Safelite to have new windshields installed, they have always sanded any rust, primered then painted with a special extra thick paint all around the the opening in order to stop rust as well as prevent future rust.
Love the color Sarah and you are amazing. Someone is going to get a great car that you have put a lot of love into.
I love you Sarah!!!!❤️❤️❤️
I had a 1970 VW Beetle in 1971. It only had 10,000 miles on it . I kept that car for 10years. I had a 1800cc engine installed in it with a 2 barrel carb and Monza pipes . It was really nice . I do not know if it increased the top speed which with the old engine it was was 81miles per hour . The car had no ac on it . The car would blow in the wind so it was an interesting challenge to drive it on the highway with a blue norther . Now if you can ever find a Karman Ghia without body damage . I had to take the car into the dealer every 6,000 miles to get the valves adjusted . The best gas mileage I could get was around 20miles per gallon . The car with the old engine was slooooooow . Ms Sarah work is always remarkable .
A wooden steering wheel would be a nice retro look to go with the Toga white.
Girl you do an Awesome job on everything you work on Big Thumbs Up :)
Nice job! That colour looks great, can't wait to see the rest of it come together.
LOVE THE VID ALL THE LITTLE DETAIS - GREAT- "YOU'RE WONDERING ABOUT MY GAME PLAN - ME TOO" ha ha ha ha
Some highly satisfying scenes in this video!! Is anyone surprised that she's not 'half-assing' this?? haha
Way to go Sarah😚😘
Great Job !
I am now 53 years old. When I first discovered that impact screw driver at the age of 14 it was the best thing ever and still is…
Just watched a 5 year old video and amazing to see how you’ve changed your look subtly and way you speak to be more TV. Liked the old you better.
Your attention to detail is awesome 😎 I wish I had the opportunity to do these types of projects.
You did a pretty good job on the painting. I think you found your true calling.
That "Pecos " Soundtrack with the anonymous red sky backdrop
I admit that I started watching your channel early on because well, you're hot and funny with the occasional double entendre thrown in. HOWEVER, it's your detailing videos that really caught my eye. The attention to detail you show is just immense. When you resprayed mister dos, that was cool too. All of these small highlights that you do especially when you show your personality more is gold. You and Charlie make a great combo. He's pretty chill and your, well your not so chill (but that's great!) Your OCD as you call is is all part of what makes watching all your hard work enjoyable and also educational. Keep up the great work! Also keep your explanations going rather than editing them out. It's far more "Real" than many channels that attempt to be real but hide every failure, or they do such a rush job that cosmetically their cars may look ok, but they are not very road-worthy. WELL DONE SARAH!
I'll take a Sarah-built car over an auction queen any day. Whoever gets this will have something they can actually drive.
I'm impressed so far by the condition of the floorpans on this bug. Looks like whomever wins this eventually is going to a very solid body.
As a New Englander, I had the same thoughts. My ‘68 offered outstanding views of the road with every glance to the floorboards
Grayish greenish whitish- just like I remember my dad's '61 Bug
Right hand drive, left hand drive, McLaren F1.
Puts a smile on my face.
Between you Aurial and Fred, I will clean the wax and oil off my next painting
project before sanding.
Learning as I go.
Thanks guys.
Sarah, You do amazing work, with a great sense of humor, too. That is my favorite shade of gray. Would you consider turning your VW here into a stock looking electric beetle?
Ragnar, the Magnificent
Great paint work. Yes peeling the tape back is satisfying.
Thanks! I love doing it, its super satisfying.
There is nothing better than pealing back masking to see the perfect edge. I obsess over tape when painting.
Sarah - you are the Goddess of In-what-ever-you-do-do-it-right. Job well done.
You keep apologizing for your OCD, but that's what we tune in for, and what has helped you get to where you are! Keep it up!
Sarah can we get a moment of silence for the Veloster N.......
Saw that one coming! It'll be super desirable 10+ years from now!
yeah i have a 2019 and I love that car... funnest car I ever driven, guess i will hold onto it for a bit now
It needs a Subaru engine in it 👍😎❤️
If I had the budget to, I would actually do a Porsche 718 swap. Very similar in concept to the Subie swap being that its a turbo flat-4.
@@SarahnTuned Hell ya 👍👍

Very impressive work Sarah!
I loved peeling sunburn in my younger days, but only my own. 😍
Thank you Sarah; you are amazing.
Sweet paint job Sarah !!!!!!
You turned it into a Sarah Project. Wouldn't expect anything less. It will be a better car when your done.
Love this build! Great job Sarah!
Horsehair padding ...
.. Beetle has horsehair padding used for the seats cushioning which definitely give it an “old car” smell .. all the time.
You just had to let the thatch out of the nag.🙄
Ragnar is gonna look amazing when ur done. I can’t wait to see the outside painted. I love the original color!
Great job on the painting Sarah!
Love the color, it is absolutely perfect!
I love these old VWs, thank you for keeping this one on the road!
Much awaited much appreciated excellent as always 👌
I think you’re…….
No words just beyond the beyond
Just bombastically beautiful
That color is going to look great! Great job Sarah!
Thoroughly enjoyed your videos. Thank you Sarah.
Fabulous color. Entertaining as always.
Wow, this brings back a few memories!
I took a 1973 Super Beatle and built a slalom racer out of it.
G50-14's in the rear, B50-13's in the front, flared fenders, Bilstein shocks, Sleeper engine with Dino dino, Quick shift .......etc.
It stuck to the pavement like it was glued and from stop light to stop light it was a.................SLEEPER!!!
I appreciate all work you have done ….thank you
Never cease to amaze.👍👍
I like your attention to detail. While it's stripped down and you're sanding, now's the time to hit everything, not just the parts that will be visible.
No drips, run or errors. 👍
Love the color, the peeling was satisfying to watch! Well done!
