outstanding TT. Beautifull and sounding incredibly good ! If STradivarius had build TT instead of Violins, they would have surely looked somehow like this one ! Have you any web site where you detail the building process of these amazing arms ?
It's a nice approach to reducing tracking errors, but very long arms tend to have resonance issues that reflect/feedback into the cartridge. Good ones, like the Graham 12" arm have solved this problem, but are $$$$$. VPI also has a 14" arm that due to its length doesn't require the shell to be offset as the error with such an arm is less than that of even an offset 12" arm.
Hm... Have you checked internal resonances of such looooong tonearms? There are no materials stiff enough with a such diameter and a length. An effective mass I guess is insane. You are limited with only few Japanese cartridge models. I hope you've found a crazy customer for that ... piece of art.
A very detailed analysis of why you chose this approach to vinyl playback would be appreciated. Why length, table design & approx materials cost, USD. Very very nice sounding demo. Details for speaker/amp combo? Thanks in advance! Al R.
Trial and error I suppose and the sheer curiosity if and how it works. Many great inventions of mankind were made like this. Even though I highly doubt that in the inherently imperfect turntable/ vinyl system itself can be achieved reasonable improvement without completely negating practicality. Nice to look at and great handcrafts though…sound isn’t lifelike. Got myself the Eva Cassidy cd …sounds WAY more lifelike on a really good CD player and system.
Any system will sound half decent when not given a complicated piece of music to reproduce (go to any Hi Fi show to witness this). Eva has such a depth and tone to her voice which gives an overwhelming sense of emotion when she sings. This seems to be missing here and her voice sounds a bit sterile. Maybe its because the speaker is firing directly towards the cartridge, who knows but I have heard Eva sound better.
@@alanrogs3990 Its just a bad design. The plinth is like a sail catching everything the speakers throw at it which in turn will affect the arm and sound. Basics are small isolated plinth, rigid tonearm and keep it away from the speakers. You don't need anything bigger than a 12 inch arm. This turntable is a shocking design.
I tried a 200 inch fishing rod... Man, that was the best ever.... I could even use it as a remote from my listening seat, didnt have to stand up skipping a track... 👌😄 I am just kidding... I think its gorgious a 12 or 15" arm.... beautifully made. 👍
Why not making that arm longer than that? It seems you've way more room in there. (The longer you make it the closer it gets to being perfectly tangential...)

Experiment! Thin bamboo tube may have a resonant frequency which is quite high! Fiberglass & / or composite material may minimize resonance issues. Materials may be inexpensive, to free! Assemble it yourself! May be delicate, as are modern cartridges. Moving coil cartridges should impart very little vibration. In, `the old days,' cartridges used crystals, which, while more distorting, worked! Requited more tracking force, sometimes a LOT, incurring wear on the disc -

I would be glad to have the tools and skills to make such an object. However, a tonearm is not purely an exercise in aesthetics. It is there to face up to some technical challenges. Why is it unfair to point out one's doubts when a design focuses single-mindedly on one of these challenges, thereby making it more difficult to meet another equally important one? Of course it may still work. Maybe the length and slenderness of the arm wand puts its resonances in a range where they are less harmful.
