- The EOS C200 features Canon’s 4K Super 35mm CMOS sensor with an effective pixel count of 8.85MP, along with the newly developed Dual DIGIC DV6 image processors. As a result, it can deliver Cinema RAW Light recording at 4K DCI 50P internally to a CFast 2.0™ card. It can also deliver 4K UHD recording at 150Mbps, and 2K or Full HD at 35Mbps to SD cards in MP4 format.

Also, in that same shot, while Kai has a lav and can be clearly heard and understood Tim in his Rode jacket has terrible sound quality...

Meanwhile tech CZcamsrs are rocking multiple RED cameras. Kinda funny how much they spend on getting that B-roll footage looking crisp just so it can get compressed down to garbage by CZcams (when compared to the original)

you think that's garbage? shocking truth is facebook video getting way higher stats these days and their video codec is absolute gash compared, makes CZcams seem like the imax of web video.
I don't think CZcams quality is garbage! It's just garbage when compared to the original. But yeah you're correct facebook makes youtube look like IMAX

DigitalRev days were the best.. great video. I am in the process of buying a C200 myself and have a really stupid and noob question but.. i will ask anyway simply because I dont know about it or how this camera works. When shooting RAW, are any video profiles or LOG modes selectable or can/need to be applied (like when shooting MP4), or because its RAW, basically is just RAW straight out of the sensor with no procession and end of story? Thanks a lot :)

Transcoding?
Resolve 14 (beta) - free, cuts through these raw light files like butter.
4k DCI 25p file sizes:
ProRes 4444: 1180 Mbit/s
Canon raw light: 1024 Mbit/s
ProRes 422 HQ: 786 Mbit/s
It's not like the data rate of the raw clips are out of the ball park. These are quality files for people who want that.
It seemed like they were using some version of DaVinci Resolve, based on the style of flickering error message. Might not be the Beta version you mentioned, though.
I think that flicker was just another gimmick for 'comic relief'. If they were using DaVinci 14 - which is the one supporting the camera raw files - they wouldn't have needed to transcode. They play back more or less like ProRes. There is no debayering involved.
Andrée Markefors did you have the chance to test it yourself or can you point to a proper review that includes davinci resolve? Really wanna see how it performs.
Heyy, which one gives better/prettier image using raw, c200 or c300ii? I hope you have the answer regardless of the features and muscles and other things of both cameras that I don't care about

what's wrong with the video's exposure? compared to the raw footage from the c200, it looks all over the place.

I hope canon adds 10 bit 422 internal to sd cards in a firmware update.
For that much cash at least 50mbps would be nice in 2k/hd.
Come on canon! Give us the color, ergonomics AND the specs and you will be king. Don't wait another 5 years. One can only hope.
RKH Creative This will unfortunately never happen. Years ago, Canon made the mistake of making $20K cameras that had nothing special about them except specs. So, eventually when the tech caught up, they got screwed because those same specs could be found in cameras that were only a few thousand. To protect their years of R&D and marketing for their expensive cameras, they must now fuck over all new low-end cameras in the near future, or else risk making their high-end line obsolete.
Sad but true. The rebel line will limp the profits along I guess. woohoo T8i, 950D, now with snapchat filters built in....

it does it through the cfast cards. But for baked in codecs the camera limits at 8bit 4.2.0.
10 bit to the sd cards from canon c200 probably won't happen. But I hear 4.2.2 (probably 8 bit) can be output through hdmi sdi
although canon worked really hard to make color very accurate in an 8 bit space

The Canon C200 Mark 2 should have two SD Card Slots and two C Fast Card slots. Especially for the price and both slots should be able to record in 10 bit

NTSC version of the camera does 24fps, 60fps and 120fps

As much as I like the Canon C200 Mark 2 when is Canon going to put 10 bit into the Camera.
With the Solidpod shooting CRM (which is 12 bit RAW) isn't so much of an issue, we did a video recently about it. But yeah it would have been nice to have had a lighter codec like that in the C300II but doing so would have killed that camera. Jake

10 bit raw? Isn't raw more like 12 or even 14 bits?
12 bit at 24, 30 fps
10 bit at 60fps
i think 14 bits is usually for uncompressed raw
10 bit is the bit depth of ProRes or cineform. I hardly believe that 10 bit is raw.
don't know what canon is doing, but their "raw" isn't actually conventional raw per say. It has a bunch of stuff baked in. And they don't do compressed raw like RED does.
nevertheless the Cinema Raw Light has the same adjustable features as Typical Raw (similar)
Magic lantern is working on developing compressed 10 bit raw aswell.
lower data rates and smaller file size. Guess Canon took that route aswell.
although they didn't have to. CFast 2.0 cards can handle 14 bit raw data rates.
Canon spends a lot of money on wheelchairs, because all their cameras are crippled
