do literally everyone commenting asking about the mask, i had a bad accident at work prior to this video and as a result am having to have dental reconstruction at the time of this video i was 3 days out of my first stage of surgery and wasn't even supposed to be out and about but i made the effort to be there so for the sake of being on video i covered up my cut up and sliced face. as for only making 270 when it made close to 300 and 327 prior, after this video my tuner invited me back to his shop and we found few small things wrong with the car that we have buttoned up and fixed both mechanical and in the tune, full video is on my channel of the results for anyone who is genuinely interested.

Thanks for coming in again :) to be clear we replaced your plugs with 1 step colder plugs, and fixed up a loose MAF sensor connection that was causing surging on the night. Power is back to what it should be, we did put it back on the dyno for a further touchup. But still our favourite V6!!

When is the next dyno night and where do you advertise them? I don't have Facebook but do follow you guy's on instagram but very rarely go on there.
I have a stock (for now) ZL1 Camaro and wouldn't mind seeing what it makes before I install a flex fuel kit, full exhaust and pulley change

Just when Holden made a decent Commodore they packed up the company. I had one of these as a hire car in NZ. I was surprised how quickly it got to 220kph although I did have a Euro built Commodore 4 cylinder turbo up near 240 on the speedo. NZ, great place with great roads!

When I was driving in NZ the locals were all helpfully holding sheep from behind to stop them running onto the road.
If it's euro built it's not a fucking commodore mate, also there were plenty of nice commodores before the vf, I love my LS ve calais
@@dionborbelj9853 If it says it's a Commodore- it's Commodore. VE's were nearly nice. A Euro Commodore 4 cylinder would be so close to your car you'd be in a tizzy. The dash rattle of the poorly built 4 banger turbo coming past giving you wind burn would be intimidating. I'm glad you love your car though, that is all that matters.
270 @ the rears isn't bad for V6 commo, chuck the stock wheels back on for sleeper mode and you'd surprise a lot of people

Nice to see an SV6 that would actually move along quite nicely. The wheels definitely aren't my cup of tea though. Stock would look nicer (and nice and sleeperish imo.)

Nice car making quite a bit of power... Not a fan of some of the cosmetic enhancements but overall, it's a good car...
Credit to the owner for doing something different....with some better gears will definitely liven up the car....when you get all the work you want to get done...im sure it will be a beast...see you on the road
Super clean and practical daily drier and the power looks good! It’s on par with a tuned ss and the average xr6t but still got nothing on my Ecotec lol

I'd be pretty happy with 260-270kW atw in a daily. Probably good for 0-100 in the mid 5's, it would surprise a lot of the typical traffic light heroes that see an SV6 or Falcon and immediately try to race it off the lights.

Much faster than mid 5 seconds im sure, the power and torque this makes easily puts it under the 5
pretty good considering back in the day a 350 chev made 275.

By the time you had all of this work done, it'd be same cost & more satisfying converting to an LS......which, when you've done all of the work you'd have to be scratching your head as to why you didn't. Oh well.....
Edelbrock make a top mount supercharger kit for the 3.6 LFX. Not cheap though.

Thetimimg chained weren't the problem. And even in VF's they are still a failing. Don't let anyone fool you.
The problem is with crankcase breathing. In particular, the driver side cylinder head. If you pull a sensor from that side or a rocker cover, after 150,000km you will see a bit of carbon crusting on that side. This eventually leads to poor oil feed and that kills the chain.
Even a well maintained one will still have this issue. Is it as bad as a tfso vw? Absolutely not. But it's still not cheap to fix

it is the lfx engine pretty sure you can find it in your v6 camaros however im unsure of what gen camaro ran with the lfx

Doesn’t sound that bad though I’ve heard worst coming from a V6. Would have been cool to see the dyno graph it being a centrifugal blower, it just keeps pulling all the way to redline without any dips in the power band which isn’t a bad thing at all.
theres a full video on my channel we recorded after this dyno night to fix a few things up, got some dyno pulls in with graphs and my tuner also talks about all the technical stuff youd want to know about the tune etc if you're interested

Took over 10years of testing to get an ecotec/l67 head that didn't cause issues with other components

V6's aren't worth playing with. He's got like $10k into the performance and it's making less than a 6.0L with basic intake/exhaust/tune package. But whatever, if he enjoys it then good for him.

Pretty sure 6.0ls only make around 220kw atw stock, and when you add the exhaust inatake package it doesnt really make them that much more, plus this is still a v6, even the 6 cylinder r34 gtrs only made like 230kw atw and they were twin turbo, you cant really make above 300kw on a v6 unless you do absolutely everything, this is literally stock engine plus a charger, thats it
@Phatv6 6.0L's make high 200s with those basic mods. You're aware the Japanese sports cars of the 90s had a gentlemen's agreement that essentially made all the cars limited in power right? Plus the RB26DETT is more than 20 years older than the VF's V6. Better to compare the 370z to this and afaik those make even more power (like over 350rwkw) stock engine with a charger.
@@vongdong10 not sure what 6.0l you see but most stock 6.0l make around 220 wheel, stock and with basic bolt ons push it up to maybe 250 if lucky, speaking from experience my dads vf ss with otr exhaust and tune only made that on dyno, unopened engine 6.0ls dont make alot, so yea a v6 with just a charger making 300 is impressive, if this guy did headwork, cams and maybe some more hed be pushing over that, chuck it on e85 and hed be easily 350, add on a cpr6 manifold and that can easily be in the high 300s,

It's a Vortech. The blower is reversed unlike all the kits Capa made back pre 2000-2010.
You can also clearly see the V on the blue tag (that's upsidedown).

Interesting it only made 270kw with boost. Must be a lot of heat in the cyli ders causing knock. I say this because I extracted 255kw from the vf on e85 on the hub dyno. Real hard ecu to tune compared to earlier generations.
he said stock, they would make around 160 or so, now with 7psi, its making another 100 so it seems right.
I recently tuned the 3.6lsx. It came in with 210kw at the wheels. Left with 255kw on e85. I recently checked the dynos were still calibrated correctly. I use no software offsets and dyno hub losses are included in the readings
The VF is rated at 210kw at the engine.
This car is on pump fuel. On his tuners' dyno it makes 310kw. This is why you shouldn't compare dyno figures too much.

Knows nothing about the lfx, chains don’t go. The only time u replace them is when u cam it.
What the fuck's he talking about, "integrated manifolds"? Every Alloytech head I've ever seen had regular exhaust ports, and you CAN fit headers to them.
He means the exhaust manifold is a part of the head. So instead of 3 outlets on each head, there is only 1. The LFX engines from the MY11 (i believe) to the last SV6's have integrated exhaust manifolds.

LFX/LGX (series 2 VE+) have a single port for the exhaust cast into the cylinder head.

Think many i.e. the barra lovers need to realise this V6 commodore was never targeted as a high performance engine and has always been designed as a family car market more so.
Holden will always tell you if you want performance go buy the V8 version
@@CurtisLSA yeah I get that, I've owned vc vl vn vs and they weren't all that fast just made heaps of noise. The vs was ss commodore and felt different down low with the torque but at high revs felt similar to the six. I gave up on Holden's a long time ago because they break too easy and started driving jap cars and now I'll only drive audi.
