    The BMW E39 5 series wagon came std with rear airbag suspension in 1998 (self levelling) very handy when you load it with rocks. Incidently a lot of motoring writers stated when the holden sportswagon came out that it was modelled on the E39 as the rear ends looked very similar. Seriously been thinking of selling my xr6 turbo ute and buying a calais wagon as i miss my wagon apart from its reliability issues.

    I'm getting old when I like quiet but powerful cars. Every young guy around loves his loud pop pop exhaust & tune. I owned a rotary and used to hope I didn't shoot a fireball when a cop car was around.....or cringe when I've left it too long decelerating before down shifting coming off the highway wincing in anticipating of military canon like sound at any moment?
    I like hearing a really hotted up NA V8 with a really quiet exhaust (where you can hear the inner workings of the valve train with valves snapping shut with perfectly aligned pushrods gliding on top a phat woble stick cam that nearly requires it's own harmonic balancer 🤣)
    Quiet like a mouse till you stomp on it and barks like an angry wolf

    Air ride is underrated. People assume, never had one which is the case of the negative reactions. The biggest issue is cost which is the reason IMHO people talk themselves and allow others to talk them out of getting a system. It is the only no compromise suspension setup you can have. The only knocks are having to remove the condensation from the systems, installation and cost.

    Over here in England I had a car that was a very similar shape - Vauxhall Omega it was called , a 2.5 litre V6 that was OK but the engines had a nasty habit of failing normally due to the cam belts, the suspension was a bit vague as well.....
    I always loved the shape and size of it but knew it needed a bigger engine, the top speed was OK at 160mph as it was remapped, but it needed more 'Oooomph !'
    Now if win the lottery I will import one of these beasts and get a twin turbo kit fitted.... and see if I can get some V6 Omega badges for it ! Then again if I win big maybe a Brabus..... yeah, a Brabus !

      @@glenntronc2624 is this at a dead stop then launching or is this roll on? With that much HP what is the torque? It’s still very cool ride & I bet it is a blast to drive & just be a passenger in.

      My wagon doesnt hook up at all, spins in 2nd and 3rd and made 513kw to the wheels

    • @dlpannebakker
      @dlpannebakker Před 2 lety

      @@jackmeoff7686 the 513 NM of torque equals to US 378.37 ft. lbs of torque. Modest amount. Thé use or intended use of the wagon is what? Straight light or road course? See if you can bring up the torque add a great racing slick large diameter for straight line. A good set on all corners of racing slicks or even cheater slicks. Cheaters are great for either straight or road courses.
      Is the wagon rear wheel drive or front?
      I can believe you spin. Wagons aren’t very back end heavy. Similar to an American Camaro or Mustang. Pickup trucks also are light in the ass. Spin, spin, spin the pickups do without weight over the rear axle. The older Camaro’s are light in the back but the new ZL1 & the ZL1 1LE has super traction control. Chevy was spot on. Ford lousy. Dodge’s lousy as well. Too much HP a& torque with no or a lousy traction control system.
