  • Introducing some new isopods... and some other miscellaneous updates. The isopods came courtesy of Justin and Peter of Dart Knight Exotics. They sent these as a way to showcase just a few of the captive bred isopods they offer. The same are showcased on the poster that was made in collaboration with ZTHphoto. Watch the video and see the below links for details.
ALSO I apologize for the buzzing sound throughout the video. I was having issues with my mic that I didn't notice until I started editing the video.
Isopods are really neat and something that aren't “just for kids” anymore. This is a serious hobby that a lot of people are getting into that also goes hand in hand with everything else I show on the channel. I'd imagine that most people watching this video like/own isopods of their own. Even if you don't or don't intend on doing so, hopefully you can appreciate those little “rollie pollies” next time you see them. They are a very important component to most ecosystems, which is why they are so heavily implemented in bioactive setups. Some of them also look pretty cool as well.
You can use promo code “serpa15” on ZTHphoto's entire Etsy store and on all of Dart Knight Exotics. Like I said in the video, I don't receive compensation. This is just for your personal use if you're interested.

First off I'M VERY SORRY for the buzzing feedback throughout the video. I did my best to try and get rid of it in post, but I could only do so much. I was having issues with my mic/camera and almost didn't upload the video because of it. I figured the show must go on. If you can't watch because of it I understand. Anyways enjoy the ispods (rollies pollies, pill bugs, potatoe bugs, woodlice) or whatever you like to call them. Personally I like “pill bugs” as that's what we said as kids, but I'm curious what you call them. Let me know! Also check out the video description for links/information.

My puffer would love these, and you could hear the crunching from the outside of the tank when he would eat... I have had a few puffers, but the Amazon puffer was my favorite. Great video, didn’t knew there were so many of them. In my country they are called “cochinilla”, is used to collect them when I had my aquarium-terrarium. Keep it going with the videos.

Hey... Your works are really great and inspiring... I have been following your channel for long time and learned a lot from your work... By the way I have a question here...
Is it really important to mix up the soil with spangnam moss as you do it to retain moisture?? As here in my locality it is difficult to get some... And also want to know if i can use simple garden soil to make my terrerium??

My grandson kept bringing them into the house last summer and putting them into all the houseplants!! After watching your videos we are going to do a terrarium project so they will not be escaping!!

I used to be scared of them whenever I'd see them in the nature, but since I found out how good they are for the plants and the soil, I kinda think they're cool :) like spiders.
The first ones you showed looked so awesome, like terrestrial shrimps hahah

After vid impression: Them some quality isopods! We also call them pill bugs in Australia. I really like that poster as well.
The racks for the vivs looks fantastic and the vivs themselves are poppin! Also hella excited for the pond for the native fish, Id love to see how that goes, Im really happy for you now that you own your house and can just go crazy with the projects.
Ive had a really rough year, but when I started watching your videos in May they really brought me out of my funk and gave me a hobby that I can enjoy and cherish. Im preparing a fish tank for a shrimp enclosure and Im also getting ready to build a Terrarium this year. I really appreciate all the vids youve created for us and Ill happily watch every video that you put out. As always, keep up the stellar work!
