- Yes, my Tropical Grey Woodlice 'colony' is growing everyday, so they need a bigger 'tank', and a whole new setup. Enjoy! :)

even if you don't need a clean up crew, they make cool pets! this was very cool! 😁
Yer they do
This clean up crew lives better than I do.
Imagine wood lice doing a MTV cribs.
hahaa
so rolly pollies are pets now... my childhood was just looking at them not owning them.😂😂
something special Same, after looking at them i used to kill them. What a violent child i was.
Hatsuresu Draws how old are u now??
Unicorn Poop 11, 12 in 3 months. I was 5-7 when i did that
I'm 15 now. those were the days
i used to gather a few when i was younger and they'd breed, before i knew it i'd mastered the art of building a woodlouse colony when i was 7 :') but as i said in the video, i mainly got them for my tank, but they keep breeding haha
is it cool?....yes, yes it is
hahaa thanks
You have no idea how much this has helped me. I even had a coconut half-shell laying around that I was trying to figure out what to do with!

It must be nice that it's hot there:) In Ohio, it's 26 degrees F and we have had two snow days in a row, plus about 6 inches of snow... 🙂🎅
Leo Lab same how was pax east
Leo Lab same there's 2 feet of snow where I am
That sounds rough!
😉
Leo Lab I flipping left my bag of candy Dang my bus 😠😠😠😠I FEEL SO STUPED AND NOW MY MOM SAID THAT THE SCHOO SAID IF I MISS ONE MORE DAY I GET LEFT BACK!!!!!!!!!
Absolutely cannot wait for the naturalistic Leopard gecko terrarium build
I like how you can make owning woodlice look cool ;)
hahaa :') thanks, i think lol
I inadvertently bought a family of woodlice inside when I bought a plant in for the winter and they'd moved into the pot. I ended up feeding them sprout leaves all winter and set them free in a nice part of the garden when they started breeding like crazy. Fun little beasties.
Interesting this came up in my feed. I just moved mine yesterday. Still trying to get them established. I hardly see them. They rarely surface. I'm really worried but they have everything they need, I've watched plenty of videos. Is that ok or should I be worried?
small tip for drilling holes into lids.. use two nails on either side to hold it in place. ;)
I love isopods! They're so interesting and sweet.
I still have the woodlice I bought from you, I had to put them in a second container, they breed like crazy xD
aww im glad to hear they're doing well. yeah they breed so quickly hahaa.
When I had an African snail I put about 10 or 20 in the enclosure a d they all disappeared 😢 I wonder if they died 😢 what is your Instagram? My son seems interested in ispods so when he gets a bit older I thought this might be a good pet for him.
@@nataliewallace8250 I'm sure you could do an interesting setup for Woodlice, there won't be much to it though, of course🤔 But still nice
they look like rolly pollies
chris fuentes do u remember icarly
They are :)
Josh's Reptiles yes why?
chris fuentes they are
yeah thats pretty much what they are. but we dont call them that over here haha
I can't wait for the natural leopard gecko set up! Also your aquarium videos have been great too. It'll be cool when its all cycled and you add the shrimp.
I want to move mine too. I think "dumping" them carefully is the best way to make sure we don't miss any tiny babies! :)
I had JUST noticed that there was a natural leopard gecko kit online and I was about to leave this massive comment about it on your last video. I'm so excited to see how it works out for you. :D
Creative! u made a good enclosure!
Nice video, have ordered some springtail and isopods to try and start a bioactive set up with my Hognose snakes
My isopods breed like crazy when I feed them fish flakes
Looks good!
Might have to keep you in mind when i get some for my mantids! Alot of people are recommending them for cleanup.
yeah they do a great job :)
I've been watching your videos for quite a while and never even knew your name until now haha.
Late Comment but..
1. I mix my substrate with spag moss and a little bit of leaf litter.
2. Throw some palm bark in and kinda dig it into the soil
3. I put the leftover leaf litter on top
4. I bury a huge cork slab in and put some of the soil on top
5. I make little holes with planters
6. Finish it off with a little cucumber on top :)
I recommend garden soil for substrate. It absorbs water way better. I use it and I don’t have to mix my substrate. Just a tip.
every time you make a video... it cheers me up.
aww im glad :D :D
You have so many different pets.
Great video
We have just started with Isopods and a new sub for you
Fantastic info!
thank you :)
i like these isopod videos i would love to see more
ah thank you :)
Great vid, THX!
Cool video!! Xx
I want some as pets.
With springtails,silverfish and slugs too.
With moss.
And a few small hardy plants.
And small cave structure things.
With some driftwood as bridges.
That sounds nice buddy
I suggest you to mix coco fiber with loamy or silty earth. It retains better the water and provides to isopods some minerals.
OMG THERE SO CUTE I LOVE THEM
Speaking of arthropoda, I was given a free Brachypelma Albopilosum, or Honduran curly haired tarantula yesterday. It's less than half an inch long, active for it's size and seems interested in the micro cricket cut in two that I've offered it.
I also have "weird" pets... I have a praying mantis and I'm gonna keep ants and stick insects soon. Everyone thinks I'm weird / creepy because of it... But I think it's really cool to keep them and take care of them! I love your videos! :)
someone owns fish, 5-7 ant colonies and a blue tarantula, his name is Mikey Bustos
Keeping ants is quite popular here 😂
I have a whole bunch rolling pollies in my house that I had to rescue and they are in a big too I'm keeping them for a long time I rescued them today only when like a few hours after school after only out to only dismissal out of school so that's how I rescued them all of us had it
I love it I can’t wait to put my ant colonies together with my spring tail and isopods in the terrarium
You so precious when you smile
Have you considered introducing some in with your ants? They are said to help with controlling mold and preventing mites.
So cool! :)
Please make more videos about woodlices
Nice to hear you're planning to try out a bioactive leopard gecko tank! I have a couple quick vids up of my male's, Aurelio's, bioactive setup that you might wanna check out. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask!!! They're not as easy to setup as a tropical bioactive tank. And you cant just throw in excavator clay and hope for the best. It won't ever become a true bioactive tank and will eventually be overrun by harmful bacteria. A very balanced substrate mix is required.
Can you do more videos on the Isopods? I think they’re so cool!
I cant. Your voice Is just the best 😥
Great video
thanks :D
Ooh u got Rollie pollys that's cool
I wish they had big claws, they would look like cute little land crawfish
U r the BEST!!!
Nice video. Do you have an update on your wood lice?
great video chick, not a day goes by when I don't watch your videos :)
aw thank you!
I want more videos about isopods 😂
I use eco earth and leaf litter. Some of them have died off though. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong tbh or is it normal. It was only like 3.
When is the leopard gecko natural tank vid coming out? I've been holding off making one for myself because I wanted to see how you did yours first :)
Are the woodlice just pillbugs you can find outside?
what pellet or food you give them after the leaves?
they're so cutee
jp no
yeah!
Can they climb up the plastic?
Can someone tell me if ipods, rollipollies and woodlouce are the same ?
😂😂keep it up whooooo! lol
that coconut triggers my trypophobia...
what are you going to do if molt starts to grown?
can they climb their container?
I have a question about where to put the heat mat do I put it in the tank or under the tank
Inside if it's wooden, under if it's glass
Leopard gecko, if you know I have some questions about a bearded dragon.
1.what is the watt for a heat lamp!
2.when they r babies, what should I feed them (anything but crickets of possible)
3. How much do they cost (supplies and all)
Thank you!
So does having isopods keep you from cleaning the tank all the time? Like I understand you would still clean the glass etc, but not replace the substrate ? Sorry I am new to all of this and I am trying to educate myself before I purchases a crestie.
In have tropical white springtails. I'm not seeing them in the dirt and I'm wondering if they dig under.
hmm im not sure, the springtails i have are the same colour as the dirt so i dont see them often. maybe they're hanging out in damper parts of the tank?
Yeah maybe. There are a few caves and moss beds and crevasses where they could hide. I'll try looking in those areas
can you use them on a leo's tank?
One cuestión ineed some more isopods but i dont have any rolipolies in my back yard so i need them how can i buy them from you?
How often do you empty/refill your mister?
what should they eat? i have some i found (its cold and im scared that theyll die) i live in the usa. i live in oklahoma. its cold lol. by the way they can roll up
I love how you love all animals! Apart horses 😂😂 keep up the great work!!
haha thanks :) - ah im just a bit scared of horses :')
your awsom and cooooooool
Can I use peatmoss instead of ecoearth?
Since you have been talking about making a more natural vivarium for your leo, have you looked into the bio dude/ genesis exotics? He has a video about a bioactive substrate and was wondering about everyone's views on it because I am thinking about making a bioactive vivarium for my Leo too. Thanks in advance ❤
next time stand on the lid when you drill, u dafty! haha
I have woodlice in my ceiling is that bad?
Where did you get them
Cute buggiesss
No it is cool!
xD those are potato bugs! or at least that what I called them..
before moving them what you do is flip them on their backs and tickle them - they get really chilled out, lol To be more serious, I just feed my ordinary woodlice slices of potato or carrot and they do fine.
Are those rolly pollies?😂
I am working out how to do a set up for shiny common woodlice
Do u need a lid for it cos I’m gonna find some of the wee insects
Unless u want woodlice everywhere
I want to get these in my leopard gecko enclosure, as a organic cleanup crew. Will my gecko eat them? and what do i feed them?
Great video! Too bad I am in America I could really use some woodlice lol
How do they drink
I wish I was local so I could buy some off you! Would be lovely to actually SEE the care your cleaners are getting before purchase haha. Do you typically see them on the surface in the tank? Or do they tend to stay "underground"?
The ones in the tub i see more often. Where as in the gecko's tank the woodlice tend to come out when its dark, and when you turn on the light, or spray the tank, they all move haha
That is the best news! Haha thank you - trying to keep the "bioactivity" in my tank a bit secret from my family... Not huge on bugs in the home lmao
Where can I get these? Thank you
hey anyone know if frogs can eat woodlice?
I don't know if they ship to the U.K., but there's a company called Herptopia and they make a substrate like ecoearth, but it is so much better and absorbs the water very well, unlike ecoearth where you have to mix it up for it to soak in the water.
ah cool. its funny most of the time all i want the eco earth to do is dry out (like when i use it with my leos).
Leopard Gecko I usually use it dry too for my scorpion, I only moisten it for my sow bugs. Hope you have a nice day!
Are these the same as rollie pollie bugs?
Are isopods and woodlice the same?
Can u put them in a leopard gecko tank?
can someone give me some advice plz. I've been using coconut fibre without problems for about a year now but a week or so ago I noticed tiny transparent looking insects in my male's vivarium. They aren't on him and I know thei're not mites. does anyone know what they might be
they're*
And I do boil the water I use to expand the coco fiber to kill insects. They don't seem to be bothering him though but I will be cleaning out his viv soon though just in case
Menique Fourie they might be springtails
Thank you!
i think they're a type of springtail, they're absolutely harmless. In my cresties tank because their droppings are a look more 'wet' compared to leos, the springtail/eco earth insects eat them lol
I was a bit worried but they don't climb on my grcko at all i googled and they seem to be springtails thank you
can i put isopods inside a leopard gecko vivarium ?
