    Love the shout out, and another AMAZING video. I've been considering a vermicomposting bin with isopods lately...

      Might be worth a try that, I've used worm poop before for terrariums - never bothered with it for bugs.

      @@themantisgarden I'm just looking at the sheer amount of frass they make and thinking "These guys with enough of them could make a TON of fertilizer'

      I do use it for that mate, and the frass from my mealworm colonies. It all goes into my terrarium substrate mixes

    I just collected a couple of isopods and spring towels from my worm bin and I’m keeping those in a terrarium as my first experiment keeping them
    The springtails are breeding but I don’t know if these isopods are, I don’t know if I want the isopods to breed because I heard they eat all the live moss, if I put dried sphagnum moss will they eat that ?

    • @themantisgarden
      @themantisgarden  Před rokem

      They keep the moss trimmed rather than eat it all. It's a good idea to drop in some fish flakes every now and then as your isopods and your springtails love them :)
