She claims the defendant came onto her property without permission, and she has video to prove it. She’s suing for an illegal eviction and emotional distress. I am Patricia Calvin. That lady was the landlord from HELL!! She would pick up cigarette butts by the side of the street and knock on my door and say "I found this by your yard!" I don't smoke and NEVER have in my life! I don't even allow smoking in my house or my car! If you listen to the first video she say "You keep a clean house and pay your rent on time..." If you look you will see my walls are not dirty. Also, when she was in my yard you could see how clean and well kept the yard was. She would pop up all times of the day and even at night coming out the back yard. I started recording her every move! It paid off! She was crazy😳

Hello Ms. Calvin. I cant imagine being in that situation. Hopefully, you and your family are in a more stable living situation. Not sure what the landlords "condition" is, but she has something going on.
To evict her the day before her move, even though she made timely rent payments, was very spiteful of her. She shouldn't rent to anyone.

The Landlord is a hater obviously and secondly as long as the lady was paying her rent she no reason to be going by her house at all. I’m from Chicago born and raised and most of the Landlords out there are weird like this. It’s sad.

She did it so the Plaintiff couldn't rent another place. Remember in the beginning the Landlord told the plaintiff. If stayed pass the 31, she had to pay for another month . The Landlord is a tricky old lady .

I’m thankful the plaintiff could get her case before a judge in housing court in a timely fashion. Imagine what could have happened if it was nowadays with Covid-19 or just regular overcrowded court delays. She and her kids could have been in real trouble.

Defendant is one of those people that nit·pick at everything. She doesn’t need to rent to anyone. Either sell the house or find some other use for the house. She will always be in tenant court with her actions.

I am so happy that Judge Mathis awarded the plaintiff 3x what she was actually suing for. It was well deserved. That is one creepy and vindictive landlady.
She should not be renting at all. She needs to sell this house or have a management company take over the rental process cause she’s nuts!

Tenants have a reasonable expectation of privacy. As a landlord, the demented defendant should have given her at least 24 hour’s notice that she would be coming over to “inspect” the premises. I agree with the plaintiff. It wasn’t worth it.

A landlord should not be able to inspect 3/4 days out of every week. She should have sued for emotional distress of the non stop harassment she endured everyday also. JM should have order her to pay 5,000 for all the nasty lies she told on that woman in court.
The landlord created her own emotional distress. Being a landlord takes common sense and knowledge of housing laws. 🤔

Filing a eviction notice like that knowing she was already moving out. That was beyond cold especially since she has a kid. That stuff goes on folks records bruh. Messed up she did that on purpose and basically had that woman homeless.
At the end....in the hallway the defendant said "EVERYTHING SHE SAID IS A LIE....I DON"T GO TO MY TENANTS HOMES" and Doyle did an almost double-take when she said that. His head almost snapped to the right. It was very subtle but very obvious. LOL !! I think even his eyebrows hit his hairline. We just finished seeing three different times she "went to her tenant's home". WHAT A LIAR !!

Omg I dealt with a landlord like that before. Omg he was creepy and always went into my yard, walking near both of my bedroom windows, unlocking the gate going onto my patio area, cutting the grass on any given day or time without providing any notice. He'd put my trash bin and recycle bin on the curb, remove them from the curb, he'd park his old old old old vehicle directly in front of my house, making my company park across the streets. He did a terrible job painting my bath tub where there was mold in my bathroom instead of going into the wall to see where it was coming from. The stove was so old you couldnt bake with a normal size oven pan. He had no idea how to repair anything too cheap to hire professionals. IM SO GLAD I GAVE A NOTICE AND MOVED! That was my 1st and last time, ever experiencing/ renting from a slum landlord.
To tell the truth I’m glad JM was having a lot of fun with her and kept laughing and joking while she grew annoyed and mad - it serves her rotten self right for filing an eviction on her knowing she’s already moving (among other violations she committed against Plaintiff during her stay at property).
