      @madc24 Před 4 lety

      If you want me to be completely honest... they’re the best headphones I’ve ever had but barely. They aren’t worth the price tag imo and i did end up sending mine back and buying wayyyy cheaper Logitech ones that are worse but only a tiny bit worse. If you can afford to spend that much more on perfect clarity in your sound then they’re perfect for you. If not I recommend getting cheaper ones.

    I enjoyed your review! I thought you covered the benefits and trade-offs of Nuraphone's design and technology in a clear and balanced way. I'm sure it will be of help to those who aren't sure if they will ultimately be happy with their purchase, or feel that they've been suckered by some gimmick.
    I just received my Nuraphone headphones today, and so far I have no regrets. Time will tell of course, especially in terms of build quality and materials, but to me they compare well to my beloved eight-year-old AKG K550s. I'm still making up my mind with regards to sound-stage, but there is no doubt the Immersive Mode is delivers a whole new level for a Drum & Bass fanatic like me.
    One thing people should understand is that the personalisation technology is not magic and can not possibly make music sound the best according to your own preference. What it does do is make the process of adjusting the sound to your liking much, much easier! It goes a good way towards counteracting the sensitivity differences between each of your ears, so when you are using an equaliser, compressor, etc., you don't have to mess about so much trying to find a compromise that suits both your ears.

      @@PassionforSound I am going to compare them to the B&O H9i. I couldnʻt not try them at the subscription pricing with no contract. I find many over the ear models to be quite hot and without ac in Hawaii it can be quite a mess. I am curious to see how these pan out. Hauʻoli Makahiki Hou!! Did you have a comparison between these and any B&O products?

      Sorry, I don't. I have listened to a number of B&O headphones / earphones, but none for long enough to provide a comparison. I actually used to work for B&O and can highly recommend their products based on that experience, but in this situation it will be hard to match the nuras and what they do.

    • @wiktoriagwozdowska5484
      @wiktoriagwozdowska5484 Před 4 lety +1

      Arthur Evans i did get subscription as i get benefits and paying so much would be not possible for me the weirdest thing I found out is that if you stop the subscription you don’t give back the headphones but instead can’t use the app no idea if it would also block the headphones 🎧 also the box they used to give to keep headphones in now is changed to nice black zipper pouch made from really nice material it’s actually pretty good as when I received them week ago almost 2 now the battery was on 70 percent charge from that time I did use them everyday up to 1h daily and I still got 40% left I even didn’t charge them yet :D it’s very good you can add in your nura app different users and they can have their personalisation! I chosed the 14 pound price with no upfront cost but if I would be able I would chose to pay 80 pounds upfront and just pay 9 pounds per month that option is really nice I also did get notifications from them that they will realise new earbuds headphones :) and it’s ready to make preorders now they will be 199 pounds similar price I would say

    • @arthurevans2029
      @arthurevans2029 Před 4 lety +3

      Wiktoria Gwozdowska,
      Yeah, I looked at all the options and terms and conditions and other details in the subscription offer. They will make the unit unusable until you continue paying or return them. And you can receive new Nura products while continuing to keep and use any device you already have. So that probably means you will get the buds eventually and keep all of it as long as you continue with the account.
      My concern is about having to rent even after you’ve spent far beyond the actual price of a brand new set, and it goes on and on. Then if you decide you’d rather own them, you still have to buy a some at full price.
      It’s too hard to decide what to do without having used them for myself.
      I know if you don’t pay the upfront installment of $100 for ≈ $10/mo plan, then you have to agree to a longer contract(24 mo whatever).
      If you do pay the $100, then that’s @10 months of rent anyway.
      Either of the options available requires about 1/3 or so of the total purchase price.💁‍♂️🧐
      🤔🤷‍♂️

      @@arthurevans2029 that is so true i was thinking the same because if you keep using and paying over time you will pay the price they cost and what then ? i will so sure try to find it on their page and eventually contact them in my opinion its always better to buy it and then you are free of any contract and strees its like with my vodafone plan phone they rented for me line with phone apparently 43pounds but suddenly i get bill saying 53 pounds and some extra adding to 94 pounds where i get only 380pounds a month :/ they just change terms without notice lately there is so many scams that i cant believe even my bank account and my dad account been charged from many different brands claiming we made account and agreed for some stupid discount memberships you need to be carefull what you do and even what page you visit because they did get our bank details from i would say nowhere ?! crazy and horrifying i and my dad over just 5-7 months we lost 700-800 pounds to scams and banks do nothing to stop them end up smiling in your face

      I haven't tried the XM4, but I kept them over the XM3. They're such a different listening experience due to the way bass is delivered. I personally much prefer it to the other ANC headphones I've tried, but you do have to account for the in ear piece and whether you're happy with it and find it comfortable.

      Hey@@PassionforSound I'm a bass head, so I'd go with the Nuras. But my worry is whether the eartips will cause pain after like 20 hours of wearing them. I find the pads supremely comfortable (actually one of the reasons I bought them). As for the ear tips, they're a problem if I'm looking down (reading, on a laptop, etc.) but if I'm up and about or lying down they're perfect for extended use

    • @PassionforSound
      @PassionforSound  Před 5 lety +2

      Really good point, Csaba. For whatever reason, the Nuraphones create no sense of pressure when noise cancelling is active. With other noise cancelling headphones I've tried you can FEEL when the noise cancellation is switched on, but not with these. It may be a result of the different low frequency delivery. I imagine most people will not have an issue with the noise cancelling on these, but would be keen to hear from others with their experiences.

      Csaba Veres I confirm that point: no « pressure » effect when activating the ANC. I got old wired Bose in ear and the ANC is totally different on the Nuraphone, It feels more natural, no pressure effect... Just use the good ear tips and keep your room silent when calibrating the first time and you’re good to go for long sessions.

      Thanks Jesse! The first time I really noticed this issue was on a domestic flight of about 1 hour. I remember having to adjust the headphones multiple times during the flight so it probably started after about 30-40 minutes. My ears can get a bit sensitive from time-to-time and the concha (the main 'bowl part' of the ear) of my ears is quite small so it might just be unique to my ears. I noticed that the tips I use do make a difference, but don't completely stop the discomfort.

    No headphone true the life. Especially earbuds even though people rave on about them. My main interest in looking at this is to see how well they noise cancel com especially in the high frequencies of generic Australian human voices because they speak so nasally and in such high frequencies. Also Thomas trains don't seem to understand how their voices travel set another story in itself.
    As I found things like the Bose 700 and Sony 1000x pretty bad at how they noise cancel, despite what everybody says, have you tried different brands like the Jabra 85h and the Bowers and Wilkins PX7?

  • @arthurevans2029
    @arthurevans2029 Před 4 lety +1

    So I’m confused as to why you talk about how they aren’t an accurate representation of the music, but then you need to try convincing us that’s not a negative. Sure it’s always nice to be able to adjust and/or calibrate to your hearing, but I’d think it’s important to also hear what the artist created the way they intended.
    When you mention they aren’t accurate, that, to me, sounds like a flaw. I would prefer to hear that the detail, clarity, and separation as well as the bass and power just blew you away or something to that effect.

    • @PassionforSound
      @PassionforSound  Před 4 lety +3

      Hi Arthur, most headphones are"coloured" in some way and it's generally an accepted part of headphone design. The reason I think it's important to specify here is that people shouldn't buy the Nuras thinking they will calibrate to your hearing and then reproduce a studio accurate sound. Instead, they provide their own interpretation which I personally find very dynamic and engaging, and it's definitely good a retrieving detail and clarity in the music. The point is that it is still a colouration despite the calibration technology.
      Speaking specifically about the bass, the adjustment available lets you have almost none through to too much and so it's difficult for me to comment on because it depends on the setting. What I can say though is that the bass quality is fantastic (up to almost the full setting, but not quite)

    • @arthurevans2029
      @arthurevans2029 Před 4 lety +1

      Passion for Sound,
      Thanks for the reply and attempting to explain. I suppose I understand what you’re trying to say.
      The wording in your video throws me off and I feel like you could’ve left out some of that portion as it seems unnecessarily too much of a distraction from the illustration.
      I don’t think anybody can know what a song sounds like in said studio anyway.
      I do like your description of the effect of the bass level or whatever they call that slider adjustment, and I can appreciate how you strive to give a precise depiction of what the potential consumer should expect altogether.
      👍✌️

    • @PassionforSound
      @PassionforSound  Před 4 lety

      No sweat and thanks for the feedback. As to not knowing what a recording sounded like in the studio, you're absolutely right. My reference for colouration is to see if the headphone imbues it's sound obviously on everything I listen to. It becomes particularly evident when a headphone's emphasis overlaps any emphasis in an engineer's mix - like when a bright mix meets a bright headphone. A well balanced headphone adds a sense of its character, but never overemphasises anything so it should sound good with every recording. The Nuraphones don't overstep that mark, but they do get close to it on some recordings in my experience.

    • @arthurevans2029
      @arthurevans2029 Před 4 lety +1

      Passion for Sound,
      I get that. I want to assume the calibration will expose the emphasis of the engineers mix as closely to accurate as one could hope or ask for be it over the signature of the headphones themselves. And that perhaps your ears have adapted to the way the system presents the range of frequencies.
      The way phones sound kinda makes me think of cologne and perfume. After you’ve sniffed a few different fragrances, you start to have trouble smelling😁

      Thanks. It’s so hard to interpret what’s what in this game. So many people will say something is the greatest thing and then a couple show up and piss all over it. I don’t get it. I know sometimes it’s because of a minor miss in the way somebody uses a product. Or perhaps it could be a defect in the one they sampled.

      Wow. Sorry to hear that, Mark!! I had some challenges with my LG phone Bluetooth, but nothing as severe as your experience. With the Samsung S10 I've had no issues, but that doesn't change the fact that you've had a crappy run - sorry once again.

      That's dreadful, Mark. Thanks for sharing your experience. I gather that this through their lease program, yes?
