So, true story, I was on my way to New Jersey yesterday at WTC. Nura had a booth. I dismissed the sales lady’s offer for a product flyer like most people walking by in a hurry do. But then 🤔I turned around got a flyer. Said to myself, let me just see 👀. Reading flyer as I'm walking to PATH train. Stopped, turned around. Back to booth. Suddenly....
10 mins later I'm the proud owner of Nuraphones🤦🏾‍♂️👌🏾😂, talking to co-founder Dragon.

T HOFF i own Jabra Elite Active 65t, which have been my daily drivers since October 2018. Since purchasing the Nuraphones a few weeks ago, I use my Nuraphones all the time now. Jabra are excellent, don’t misunderstand me. But as you know, Nuraphones are just something different. Period.
Listening to music I’ve listened to for years has a whole new color, texture and sound.
Even listening to music at a higher volume is not tiring on my ears because of how your ears receive sound. It’s amazing really.

I could do a whole follow up video but I ended up getting a replacement Nura headset cause the first one had a fault… 2 months later the next one had the same fault and Nura wouldn’t replace them. I haven’t used them in 1.5 years now. I just ordered the nuratrue buds and am editing a review for them…. Such a tough company to recommend cause the sound quality is so good but the overall package falls flat for the money. Something like a Sony headset might be lacking in sound compared to the Nura but at the end of the day if they last you several years, feel nice and comfy, have good soundstage then it’s better than a not so great fitting headset that has the easy potential to break… but “sounds” better.
Set yourself up a nice EQ on your phone and you’re 80% of the way to the Nura in my opinion.

I loved them at first but after longer use I just found myself not liking the feel…. I mean I could even live with the feel but then 2 of them broke because of a faulty sensor because they have no off and on switch… so they would just die mid music saying “powering down” lol. Fenix Tech To answer your question here is what I wrote on www.head-fi.org/showcase/nuraloops.24365/reviews#item-review-23686 so far.
      Pros:
Sound is very clear and it is hard to go back to other headphones because of the unique clarity.
      Good soundstage with good separation.
Nice out of head sound which makes it enjoyable watching videos since the voices seem to come from the screen.
      Good noise cancelation.
Noise cancelation/social mode can be adjusted to the situation using TouchDial controls.
TouchDial controls on both outside inEars are programmable and allow loudness via dialing.
      Long battery life.
When you put them in you ears the Nuraloops automatically switch on and vice versa.
They tell you at the beginning via a voice the battery status.
Basslevel is adjustable (Nura calls this Immersion)
Bluetooth sound quality is extremely good for a wireless connection.
Cable from one inEar to the other inEar is very helpful for keeping the inEars around your neck when not using them.
4 tip sizes for finding a good fit.
Can be also used with an analog cable.
Because the personalization with the measurement of the hearing profile is always different, you get different sound options through the results.
      Cons:
      Bluetooth range is too short.
With mobile phone in my jeans back pocket the bluetooth connection is sometimes disturbed.
Sound could be a bit more fuller and natural.
The measurement of the hearing profile is not consistent, see pictures below.
Proprietary connection for the loading cable. If it breaks you have to try to get one from Nura.
Proprietary eartips which so far I do not know where to be ordered.
The Nura eartips never get comfortable. I am a fan of Comply Foam and SpinFit Ear Tips which I both can not use.
Walking with the Nuraloops is often not a joy as the seal is due to the silicon tips strong and you get with every step on a hard underground a certain “bum” in you ear. Again using Foamies reduces this kind of problem usually.
TouchDial controls allow not the dialing function for next track, so you can not have pause/play, social mode and next track at the same time.
The possibility to combine the functions of “pause track” and “100% social mode” would make sense to quickly react if someone wants to speak to you. At the moment you have to first pause and then put on social modus, one click would be more convenient.
The TouchDial controls are way too sensitive. When you are in the garden or you are in the forest and a leaf touches the Nuraloops the TouchDial will react depending on what you programmed.
Somethimes the function of my left TouchDial went away and I had not idea why. So I had to wait until they shut down and come back and then things will resume normal.
Lying in bed with the Nuraloops is difficult as the cable connecting the tow inEars is a bit short and stiff and pushes the Nuraloops out of your ears.
Using the iPhone’s speech to text function, the first word is always missing. In addition the texts are full of mistakes in direct comparison to the Apple cabled EarPods or Bluetooth functioning AirPods (standard not Pro). Which makes you wonder how good the 4 microphones are.
People I have been on the telephone with using the Nuraloops complain about my voice being too muted and muffled. It would have been great if Nuraloop would allow some control over the microphones.
No way of telling of the Nuraloop is on or off (except looking the Bluetooth connections of your smartphone). Sometimes the Nuraloop turn on by themselves while dangling around my neck and although they are not in my ears. Which is strange if someone starts quietly to “whisper” something you do not understand. Plus it is very uncomfortable if you took a call via the mobile using the mobiles speaker and mike or using a cabled headset and suddenly your telephone conversation stops since nuraloops have decided to take over.
A possibility to turn on and off would be very helpful.
If you have done your profiles and you settle with one, you might wish to to rename them, which is currently not possibe.

@@Vinyl-Movement I just read your review on head-fi, excellent write up.
The Pros and Cons are almost identical to the Nura headphones. They are a great piece of kit but they fall short as a consumer device. It's a real shame, I had hoped they would refine this in the nuraloops.
It's almost like yes they have phenomenal sound but at the end of the day, the fit/feel and lack of modern comforts means it's not the pair i'm reaching for.
I'm talking to Nura now because the sensor in the earcup is broken so it turns off after 45 seconds because it can't detect that im wearing them properly. This would not be an issue if there was a simple on/off or volume rocker on the headphones. They can't even repair them , they're offering me a discount on a new pair.... why would I buy another pair of the same headphones that has a design fault and can't be repaired?
I've got a bit of a sour note from Nura at the moment. I'm still talking to support about what they can do. If I'm left in the wind on a $400-500 headphone then I'll be making a follow up video talking about my disappointment in them.
They have achieved so much as a company and its truly impressive, but they need to back it up with servicing, it's pretty abysmal. I should mention that they will still work "wired" over USB to a PC, but I bought them as a bluetooth headphone, not to be strapped to a PC.

Hey mate, it's a bit hard to describe but I guess they lack "warmth" that I've heard in other higher end headphones. Funnily enough it might be a sensory thing because most other headphones have some sort of material mesh on the earcups and this is a rubbery / silicone, so even that is "warmth" vs "neutral/cold".
I should also point out that it's not really a detractor for me, I can just see why some people would say this. I prefer to have "neutral" and clear audio than something that's producing some "warmth" (which i guess is probably a nice way of saying a nudge in the lower mids / upper bass ranges).

    • @fenixtech1342
      @fenixtech1342  Před 5 lety

@@SK-kh8xq Hey man, I don't own the Sennheiser 4.40's but I just went to a shop to have a look. The quality seems very "plasticy" compared to similar priced headphones. The sound quality was decent on its own but to me the Nuras are much much better. Now the Nuras cost about twice as much as the 4.40's so it's not a direct comparison. Lets look at some prices cause the shop also had some Bose QC II on special.
      $249 Sennheiser 4.40 (no ANC)
      $299 Sennheiser 4.50 (with ANC)
      $369 Bose QC II
      $395 Sony WH1000 MX3
      $499 Nuraphone
If your budget is around the Sennheiser 4.40 then it's hard to compare against the more expensive ones, but the QC II and Sony's felt (and sounded) a lot better... but I guess that's what you're paying for. I would personally either save up and spend more or pickup something cheaper, because the retail price on the 4.40's and 4.50's seemed a bit expensive for what you get. If they have a huge 30%+ discount then sure but not at retail prices.
There are so many cheaper options but one that stands out to me is the Audio Technica ANC500BT for $169 retail.
Another option is to checkout MassDrop.com and see if any headsets popup in a similar / cheaper price range. I've seen a bunch come out at amazing price points.
