I don't usually write comments like this on videos, but I feel this one deserves it. I very much respect this channel, Wired UK, but this review was horrible. You literally spent almost the entire video talking about and reviewing every part of these headphones except the most important part; the actual sound. That is literally the only point of a headphone. This company, Nura, created a piece of audio technology that does something most have never seen, and it was barely touched on. Maybe next time focus on the sound and the reaction that the people listening to it for the first time have and less on the menial points that can be read on Nura's website. Sorry about the crazy long comment, but I felt this needed to be said.
You should have at least tried the calibration step multiple times on the same person to check if the sound profile is actually constant for a given person. Now, this video is practically just an advertisement.
Hannes Cattrysse I have them, and they are very consistent, I have also calibrated them to my sister's ears before, and gave me a visibly different sound profile in the app
Fyi: Your video editor needs to view the final video on non-professional equipment. The video contrast is too low and so is the audio level. Just a friendly reminder :)
i got my nura headphones today and been using them. after an hour use, my ears starts to hurt from the rubber tips. has anyone experience this?? i do love the headphones, but it starts to be painful after an hour use.
fondoo I've contacted them about this and they said that the spring will mould with usage. After hours of try, the left cup does feel better to use. The right one still try its best to drill into my head though. I even resort to wearing it backward which is very comfortable surprisingly, but with the treble getting a bit muffled by bass interruption.
maybe its my ears. after 20 minutes i have to take them off, it starts to get painful. i shipped them back to day and USPS charged me $17.00 to ship them back.
fondoo After a week of use, I'd say either the spring do start to mould to my ears or vice versa. I can use it for hours now without feeling painful while wearing, though the feeling of mild pressure is still there. Taking it off however, and my ear start to feel sore again. It's certainly not for everyone, and I do consider to return it from time to time. Hopefully the refund process goes smoothly for you.
fondoo I bought them in 2018, and they also hurt my ear canals because of the rubber tips. I have been using them for 5 days. I will see if they adapt to my ears, if not I might have to return them even though I like how they sound. :(
I got mine yesterday. made the sound profiling 2 times, they are a bit different ( first time, was not a perfect fit, second time yes) both profiles sound good. I do feel a bit of pain in my left ear though due to the insert element. I'll give it some time, if it does not get better i will have to return them :(
Well anything that creates a non-digital output needs an analog input to calibrate it, otherwise you don't have the point of reference to calibrate against
Doubt it. Nobody relevant in the audio industry is talking about these, it looks like this is a product for consumers who can easily be fooled. Their marketing scheme is super scammy.
RoboticusMusic I’ll try em’ out. Just made an order because the concept seemed interesting. If I don’t like them, they offer a 30 day money back guarantee. So I think it’s worth a shot.
tried and tested and can vouch they are not as fancy as they sound they are here. Though the profiling is very fancy but it is not correct, you cannot change after it profiles you so you are stuck with same EQ setting for a good amount of time. I did side by side comparison with Sony WH100xm2 and they are much crisp!
Not a fan of them, the sound for me wasn't that much better (If at all) than my sony MDX-100ABN's. For the price and wait time very lacklustre to say the least. Not as revolutionary as some have said. (Yes the general sound setting is really bad, but I feel it's digitally meant to and on purpose to trick you. Again looking at the general and only sound of my Sony MDX-100ABN'S, it's as good as the profiled sound of the Nura's if not better).
Well, that review was completely underwhelming! Thanks for nothing guys, you didn't even place them on your head! Way to go, reviewing headphones on their looks....did you REALLY put them to the test? I think not.

Can't agree more, I thought I skipped the part where they put them on, but nope... wtf did I just watch
took the words out of my mouth....

>These are not expensive, only $400.
i've spent around that, but that's an obscene amount for most people to spend on headphones.

Not really a good review, they actually in fact do have Active Noise Cancelling. Its on the product website and it is not hidden whatsoever

Was there a review to be had here or did I just waste 6 minutes and 21 seconds of my life that I will never get back?
I wonder if this couldn't be done just as well with software calibration.

They are now noise cancelling - update this video
I think i saw this on the shenzen video
"they produce a really good sound" - thats all he has to say about the audio quality.
