Don’t have a Switch, but it’s interesting to see how these things work. Seems like a very specific use case.
I like the idea of having a bunch of games on 1 sd card .
I agree, I mean the better idea is to have just a few like maybe a handful at a time and swap them otherwise if you have like 50 games it could get tedious mind you this could be a game of "I can't play the next game on my Mig Switch until I beat the first one" then cycle through all the games until I complete my collection lol.
I would put the most played games on the Mig Switch and those less played would be using their own cart. That's my plan if it works out.
I'd rather get this and backup my games instead of risking the physical cartridges & switch being stolen while taking trips. At least this way you'd only have to replace 2 or 3 things, which will cost less than replacing 15 or more items.
That's actually a really good point, have one $100 MiG Switch with a $100 Switch Lite that's $200 stolen rather than $1000 of games and a Switch Lite stolen! Great point to make for sure! 🤯🤯🤯
I lost my case with all my games from my original switch, this would have been a life saver
It's a nice stepping stone for what can be done eventually with the MIG card. It's just the first generation. I'm sure they'll improve upon it or maybe even more companies will create there versions. Gaming and emulation is becoming crazy!
Oh I agree, the R4 card wasn't the most advanced back in the day however MIG really did this card correctly. I'm sure someone will fully reverse engineer this properly one day but right now with the fact that you have to have the original certificates, ID, UID, etc shows that this card will avoid piracy all together.
I can definitely see the use case as I have bought multiple copies of a few games cause of kids. I'm gonna sit on the sidelines for now and see how all this progresses.. will probably see updates/improvements on them
Oh I agree, mind you price does need to come down a bit even pre order wise it's expensive. I get why though, get a 1,000,000 gamers to buy these at high prices then sell them to resellers at bulk. What resellers sell them for after is up to them, this was the way the R4 was distributed too until clones came around.

130 dollars for a flashcart is crazy expensive but hey, it's a great concept so the price is justified i guess lol
Yeah the website I pre ordered was cheaper but I was impatient and $130 was the cheapest (CAD btw) that I found on AliExpress.
they're in the $60-$70 USD range unless you go to unofficial sources. the $130 was originally for the cart and Dumper.

Actually yes I did do this by mistake and was like "oh crap hope I don't break this" but it literally just took the game I was loaded into for homebrew and dumped it. 🤣

I just have some questions.
If the MIG cart and Actuak cart is playing simultaneously and the one playing it witbout internet, does that mean ban?
Secondly I have the same account running on both the Switch one as a primary and one as a secondry. Do the account gets banned as well?
If the Switch playing MIG cart is offline is there Nintendo can ban it later when I connect it to internet? Can they tell that same game with unique id was running simultaneously on two different switch co consoles?
How hard would it have been for them to put an actual freaking button to cycle through games?
Can they do this through some firmware update in the future?

The "playing the same game at the same time" would only apply if you were connected to the network correct??
So far I've only tested playing both consoles offline I never play online games with my Switch so there hasn't been a need for this.

I would like the option of not having to carry my carts with me since I do take Switch on the go often. How's the overall quality of the materials better than the r4 knock offs hopefully.
This honestly works better for me because I have lost all my games when an employee stole it and I'd of rather gave him the mig switch rather than all my games 😢
As always the information is clear and helpful! Still personally don’t have a use case for this. If I were to spend money on something like this I’d prefer to just hack a switch for the max benefits like being able to transfer save data from my Odin 2 to my switch for example. That indigo switch lite is so nice looking. I wish the joysticks were better on them! I’d totally get one.
Exactly that's why I stated hacking the Switch is the way to go as you can dump all these games to a 512-1tb micro SD card and install them. Which I should have tested if installed games run slower on a hacked switch vs the MiG Switch! I might go live and do a Q&A for the MiG Switch or maybe that will be part of Saturday! You just gave me a good idea 💡💡💡. Also thank for your feedback my favourite member 😎

Cool concept for backing up copies of your games in case a physical cartridge is lost or damaged. Beyond that I can’t really recommend it. This comes from someone who preordered it.
I agree on the backing up part so as long as we get the dumper tool as not everyone wants to hack their Switch of course. Otherwise I say it could be good for my reasons but for the price is it really worth it, probably not. But remember the R4 card way way back was approx $80 when it came out now it's $5 🤣
i've ordered 1 from ali since 1 of my physical carts is faulty i already have a nice hacked switch so i've dumped it with the dump tool from mig looking forward to it arriving its a good little addition to preserve games and still be able to run em im hoping online is safe to do with all the 5 files
So from what I tried is playing online is safe if you aren't using the second game in another device. Now I have not tried playing the second game in another device online at the same time however. If this video gets a lot of attention I may buy 2 Switch Lites create two accounts and try this but currently not at that stage to buy devices and lose money if things go sideways.

As of right now and I can't see it being unsafe in the future either so as long as you don't give those files to anyone or your original card. I played Mario Kart online with it and no issues I'll showcase this during the live tomorrow.

Hey I did vaguely mention this but the huge problem you'd face is that your Switch could get banned if both you and someone else went online with that same game file. That's why I stated if I had the funds to buy 2 Switch consoles create two accounts and try this to test I would.

Yeah most likely but this card really puts it in perspective that piracy can be avoided as you need 4 other files alongside the game file to play it.

This thing can make your switch banned. Many people will dump their game then sell the game cartridge.
No it doesn't if you own the games the only way you'll likely get banned is if you dump different game certificates and use them on multiple devices.
This won't stop piracy, it will just change the form. People will simply include the same files the MigSwitch needs when they share the files. That said, this will be a good thing when the Switch becomes "retro" in a few years and they don't support the servers anymore.
Well I didn't say it would completely stop Piracy but help stop it when others find out that A it's super hard to find games online for Switch with the files required, B you do need those 5 files no matter what at least for now unlike other flash carts that only need the main game file. But yes it will be great down the road when nobody cares lol
@@DNAMobileGaming It's hard now, because the device is new so most piracy for the Switch is formatted around the hacked Switch instead. Unless a new softmod comes out, this will become popular as the device becomes more widely-distributed and so those who supply the sites will supply the files. Not wanting to hard-mod and being paranoid on a ban are the main reasons I haven't hacked my Switch yet, and one day the latter won't be a factor.

At this point Nintendo should be smart, build there own emulator which works only with there ROM, sell these readers they build themselves which they can sell! I bet you people would be happy to purchase them!

The dumper is the only thing that I can see being and issue with pre-owned games.
Why would it be an issue? The entire idea is to dump your own games and copy them to an SD card.
Sorry for the lack of context. I mean if I was looking to buy a pre-owned game, I would have no way of knowing if that game was already dumped and if we were to both go online with the "same" game, there's the big potential of getting banned.

That's one big scare, I've contacted the company I ordered my original one from multiple times now as I pre ordered Jan 19th and they have responded ASSURING me that it is coming but production is behind. So we'll just wait and see I guess, otherwise I'll do what I need to of course.

You can install a picofly and a 500gb sd card for cheaper than that and it’s miles better

I’m a pirate and I’ll rent my games and make copies of it.
That only makes sense if you never go online which some games require you to go online periodically to download updates.
Rom sites or torrents problem solved on free games
If you can tell me where you can find the 4 important files including the Certificate file then please point me in the direction because I Google searched all over and couldn't find a single site that had these four files alongside the main game file.
Mig card requires Nintendo Switch, plus $60 card, plus knowledge and interest in downloading Switch ROMs, plus awkward usability (as noted here). If you already have a handheld Switch emulator (which would emulate everything else too), I feel like there's no point, because that experience is just much cleaner and easier to use.
Very true and a lot of games run really well on emulation despite what happened to Snuzu.
I have ordered the dumper for this reason. I wish at this point they just ship the dumper to me. The actual cart, although I have ordered one, is a bit too rough around the edges.
Wonder if Nintendo has any chance of launching a lawsuit in Russia. Probably not. This probably isn't the last solution for this problem that will come out this year.
I'm pretty positive they can't touch Russia however not sure what the lawsuit would be about as they don't supply any games or SD cards with games on these carts. The thing about technology is that most tech can be reverse engineered and I'm sure this flash cart wasn't an overnight discovery.

Key word COULD but I don't see it causing any issues when it comes to this scenario I thought of after. Let's say you own a Mig Switch, you rent a game and dump it. YOU NEVER GO ONLINE because you would risk your Switch being banned or account being blocked with your MIG SWITCH. Send rented game back to rental place and nobody's ever gonna know. NOW Scenario 2 you're a dumb MIG SWITCH owner, you went online, now you and Sally both have banned Switches MAYBE which leaves you with a $400 console that can't play games online anymore. Scenario 3 YOU own your games like me, you never sell them or let anyone borrow them. You dump them to keep the originals from getting lost, damaged, stolen or just because. Now you have for eternity multiple games on one cart that you can play. That's why this Saturday I was thinking to showcase this LIVE for the Odin 2 giveaway ;)
@@DNAMobileGaming and of course the #1 deal of people who will buy a brand new game from any given webstore, dump it with migswitch then either return the game (will probably be accepted by a muh zon) or sell it on any given secondhandmarketplace. then the person who buys that used copy will get their console banned.

@@kikissolano5645the only way we can dump them right now is a hacked switch. The weird thing is the dumper was on AliExpress for a very limited time a few weeks ago but way over priced and now I wish I got it too. Now we're all waiting for our preorders to hopefully ship but at this point buying a hacked switch Lite for $250-300 is your best option if you're in a rush.

The second option could be possible if you stayed offline with it however we don't know if that will be the case yet either.
I think these guys might be selling snake oil, has anyone that preordered actually received a cart? I preordered a couple months ago, and not getting any response over email.
I think I might file a complaint against the original company I ordered mine from. Jan 19th is when I pre-ordered, site said March which I was fine with it is now almost 4 months later and I received emails back but they sound suspicious.
@@DNAMobileGaming Ordered mine from MigSwitchStore January 20th. They only replied once, and only did so when I wrote an email to the original company questioning their legitimacy. And their response was "be patient", no eta, no update on what status I am in line. Now they don't respond at all.

I can say I don't think I will be getting a mig switch. Also you NEED to fix the yellowing on that turcoice switch lite, it's very distracting.

Well if you listened to what I said there mister Joe Schmoe 420, I stated you still need ALL 5 files from each game to play them. You can't simply download a game from an unknown source (NSP/XCI) and play it directly you still need the 4 other files which yes require the certificate & 3 other files. I tried multiple methods as well, to see if I could get the game to play without these files and NOPE you cannot. So unless people are absolutely never going to go online with the Mig Switch, seeing certificates start to pop up online will be the next thing to piracy all in itself. Anyone that does download these (the certificates that is) will literally have to be dumb or stupid because they're risking their $400 Switch console of being banned or even worse their account being blocked. So uninformed, think not as I have watched others insight on this card (including Alienretrogamer) and now owning it for the time I have, this is what I have found out from personally studying it. Make sure to listen to the video not hear what you want to hear which it appears a lot of people do these days when watching content online or reading reddit posts.

You dont have to have the physical carts, obviously. People dump theirs online and then others use their files while in airplane mode. You just sound like youre mad that you paid 2x the price for one.

You guys? I get what you're saying but it's the Internet & this thing is already floating all around. Even back in the day with things like the R4 card Nintendo still found out about it and that was before the internet and CZcams was a big thing. Sharing what this is and giving educational thoughts about what it actually does, both educates those to not waste money on things like this and educates the Ninjas if they come across this content.
