We ran even more tests on the RTX 4090. These in-depth tests of the Founders Edition cooler look at the pressure distribution, flatness, power design and cables, and frequency stability for the NVIDIA RTX 4090 that just launched. We'll also talk about the 12-pin power cable and the adapter that NVIDIA provides to the 4x 8-pin cables, because Corsair recently called GN's comments on the cable "total BS" -- so we're responding. This covers Cyberpunk results differences in reviews as well. Our primary focus here is the mechanical and thermal design of the cooler, especially with Schlieren airflow imaging.

That Corsair Rep better get a stern talking to from his bosses......he made their company look like fools. "Hey guys, I'm not gonna tell you I'm right......I'm gonna let NVIDIA themselves put Mr. Bullshit in his place"
This point is unusually stupid though because Nvidia is the company that makes the GPU and that cable is in specs that Nvidia maintains since it determines how the GPU responds. It surprises me that some Corsair rep didn't understand that they should contact Nvidia, and they probably didn't even watch the GN video.
So this is unusual stupidity. Not surprising though as more arrogant people move into positions and this will become more common unfortunately at least in regards to US markets because that's the direction the US population in general is heading, towards uneducated arrogance.
@@Taylexwow Yeah. I'm not buying another Corsair product ever again unless they provide an apology. Absolutely childish and they destroyed their reputation.
@@Taylexwow So from my understanding from digging into reddit, is that NVIDIA possibly gave incorrect schematics a while back to corsair which is why they were aggressive on this topic, because they thought they were right on how things worked. Obviously, we know now that this is not how it works. Exactly Miguel R. This is why I follow and support the channel. Steve and the rest of the fellas do a great job, and make good videos and call stuff out.
The GamersNexus team has set such a high bar and standard with their testing its very impressive
The fact they invalidated LTT's basic testing is . . .well it certainly says something
@@kibbo86 lol, that seems like a very editorialized comment. He explained what happened to them and even said it happens to everyone, including GN sometimes. Not saying LTT is better than GN, or vice versa (different flows for different bros), but to say they “invalidated LTTs basic testing” is an extremely unscientific way to put it, especially after the way he explained the situation in this video. Represent Steve’s fanbase better bud.
Gamers Nexus: literally takes on on factory tours where the stuff is made and tested. Asks about the testing and processes. Proceeds to buy industrial equipment they use to do better testing....
Corsair needs to sit down (and take notes)
@@kibbo86 Yeah. They found an error in LTT's testing in one case, and that can happen to anyone. It wasn't a methodology problem that made all their tests incorrect. And LTT responded correctly, like I assume GamersNexus would if it happened to them, by looking at their numbers and testing and issuing a correction.
Which is important to point out, as you want to separate companies that correct themselves, to other like Gigabyte or I guess like Corsair in this latest case where they cover up or release statements without confirming the facts.
Meanwhile that person who spread misinformation about misinformation must be looking for a job with BBC, CNN et al.

Thank you so much for adressing the Cyberpunk issue. I was very happy to see my 6700xt run raytracing in 4k with FSR enabled, but after a reboot of the game it didn't seem to have the same performance anymore. I figured it out myself, but to see comfirmation of that is great! Nice work!
Oh man that prime directive reference waaaaas nerdy. And I freaking loved it.
Man, the Schlieren was just beautiful. Amazing
and they even use razor blade to cut the light
I super appreciate the in-depth, science-focused approach to reviewing you all have taken. Showing your methods for transparency was a great touch as well.
Back in 2017ish when i first started getting into the PC building world i remember how i did not watch GN videos because they were way too long and boring for me.
Nowadays however i almost exclusively watch you guys. It's amazing how much the testing methods evolved over time and GN really became the most down to earth and informative tech channels on this website.
Thanks for the amazing work the team puts in these videos!
I went from tech quickie to GN. No BS just pure facts and professionalism.
There is also hardware unboxed
were you a kid in 2017?
@@dutchmilk Yapp I was 14. Surprising how long ago was 2017 tbh
NGL awesome af, I need this to 'see' the airflow inside my builds.
Gamers Nexus takes their job very seriously and it shows. They are on top of their craft and I’m very happy to see it. Thx, as usual, for elevating this community with some excellent work. ✊
I'm really not sure what would possess the Corsair rep to jump-in with incorrect information. Even derbauer had more or less shown this in one of his 4090 vids after cutting one of his adapters open. This is pure speculation, but I'm wondering if this rep has an axe to grind with GN specifically because of negative coverage towards Corsair in the past. Considering the language used, it seems like the intention was to discredit, rather than making a helpful correction.
A guy that was promoted out of the technical side with the habitude to say incorrect things or doesn't double check.
@@atavusable $5 says his new position is what they'd call "internal-facing" 😉
To be fair, also, the Corsair person is *probably* correct about any other given card on the market (ie. Nvidia 3000/2000 series, AMD, Intel; not "other" 4000 series cards), so had they been promoted out any length of time ago it does make sense they'd say what they did. Maybe just should have said it as a question, to their nvidia contact, privately... y'know?
I just love how these crazy detailed and accurate tests all have setups that look like hastily cobbled together from whatever happened to be lying around, and perhaps an excursion into the trash or 2, grade 9 science projects
YOU guys , are AWESOME !!! all of you ! Thank you for your extraordinary work, thank you for you tech knowledge, thank you for your involvement and thank you for sharing all with us !!! maximum respect from România!
Really pleasing to see that all of the revenue from the GN store and patreons etc gets pumped straight back into vastly improving the testing setup. I love that you strive to use equipment that matches (or even exceeds) that which the manufacturers use themselves. True dedication. Hugely appreciated. 🤘
Just got my email notification for the foil skeleton t-shirt. So stoked. Thanks Steve.
This video is a perfect example of why I ONLY rely on GN for True, Accurate, Well explained benchmarks and technological information. Thank you GN Staff for all your hard work and Willingness to rise above the rest.
The extra space you have now is really improving the presentation of your testing. awesome!
Seeing in-depth testing like this is making me glad I dropped a couple hundred last week on the GN store even before my items have arrived. This work is incredibly thorough and I'm happy to help support it.
all that shots of airflow shows me how chaotic it is XD , sometimes u imagine ok ,the air it will come from here and go up ... but seems more difficult when you see this shots. awesome work.
Yeap when you want to cool something you need chaotic flow, chaotic means that the molecules interact with one another in a better way, transmitting the energy away from the fins and ensuring that high energy molecules get in touch with low energy ones which speeds up the heat transfer, if the flow was stable/laminar the molecules would interact within a smaller differential of energy as their neighbors all would be around the same range and thus the heat transfer would be slower.
I love it when the horse is allowed to speak. Btw, new job opening at Corsair for a rep.
Steve: It's stuff like this that makes your channel STANDS out from the rest of techtubers. This is truly the stuff legends are made off. It's not everyday you get to school a multi-million dollar company and prove them wrong! The demo is crystal clear. Corsair needs to come out PUBLICLY apologize to you and Guru3D, I will be waiting for their apologies. Thank you - again - for your public service and keep up the great work!!
The demo is one thing. (There were cuts so it's like, eh. I get it, run time and the video's not about that. Just a nitpick.)
To me what's more impressive is having freaking Nvidia's GeForce product manager in GN's studio walking Steve through the design on camera, and in no uncertain terms completely annihilating Corsair's rep.
It's not even GN versus Corsair. There's no room for interpretation. Either Nvidia's product manager was lying, or Corsair's rep is full of shit-and something tells me it's not the former.
Rite them calling out guru3d and GN.....this your first day on the internet??😂😂
The only channel I know that actually fights for the little guy and exposes some of the larger companies! Thank you Steve
28:48 Look how Steve is enjoying his job. Look how happy he was letting us to hear that jet engine noise
Great video...seems like there all gunning for u. Amazing how ez it is to debunk the debunkers. Dang the riser cable looks like my friends gym belt.😅
That nice little own of Corsair, with the table move, was pretty pretty pretty good
Corsair just took a massive L
Should show a GN clock in the background to trash on them in real-time
Way to logically AND professionally handle the Corsair rep’s misinformation - truly you all are such an exceptional company. Can’t wait for the PSU engineering video that was teased!
I'm appreciating this channel more.
Omg Steve, you guys gone nuts with this one. You've come such a long way, overtaking (almost) every other tech-journalist. (shoutout to my boy Igorslab). Love ya'll.
This type of testing for a GPU!! This is simply amazing. No one can come close to you and the amount of hardwork you put in these videos, Bravo. Other CZcamsrs will give you FrameRates and call it a day. Keep it up.
Corsair always blame others.
They just don’t want to improve their products !
I also note that their PSU prices are also increasing steadily. That is one of the reasons why I stopped using Corsair PSUs in the past year.
@@fleemwings207 literally every psu manufacturer increased the prices
dont they make good products tho?
they have like the best, or at least most affordable budget psu's, their keyboards seem good (im rocking the k60), i mean
honest question, i really dont know
@@fleemwings207 All PSU prices are increasing, that’s not just Corsair. Once $35-$50 EVGA PSUs are selling for $60+…
The only bullshit is corsair. Their RAMs are by large the worst, with bins mismatching even in the same kit, their quality generally went down and their software is so disgusting I even switched out form their keyboards, just fuck Corsair.
Incredible reporting and observations. Well done guys
Very in-deep "physics engineering" review. Very good work GN !
And then have Buildzoid to do the more electronics breakdown of the design.
I absolutely love this format: not just sharing data, but also the lab process. You guys are really one step above!
Thank you so much for what you guys are doing. I can't stress how important your work is to us the viewers.
Really cool stuff! Could you potentially set up a couple imaging systems at the same time and use photogrammetry to get a 3D model of airflow?
The imaging test you do is a variance of the Foucault test used by amateur telescope mirror makers to test the concave paraboloidal mirror during figuring. If you press your thumb on the mirror for a few seconds, the thermal expansion will be magnified about a million times and look like a mountain. It's all down to the wave nature of light and even a simple rig will produce incredibly accurate results. This takes me back fifty years when I made my first telescope mirror.
Love the Schlieren stuff. Would love to see some of the other cards with flow through designs but more standard fan types.
that corsair rep trashing guru3d and gamersnexus, arguably the two best and inarguably most technical review sites out there, is both baffling and hilarious
Yeah, Jays2cents was saying the same thing as well.
It's equally baffling seeing so many people in these comments leaping to the conclusion that Corsair as a whole is some trash tier company over what some brain-dead rep said.
@@darudesandstorm7002 it's in the title man the guy is called rep, short for representative. It's the person who the company have chosen to represent themselves to the world so yeah. What else can we take it as if the company chose trash to represent themselves?
@@fdsajklre I'm sure GamersNexus have been wrong about things in the past, are they trash because of that? Just, relax. He was wrong, they proved him otherwise , end of story, stop being so hyberbolic.
@@ponli7532 Being wrong is not the same as calling the findings of the person who happens to be right "total bullshit". Where's the professionalism from a world class company? Where are your standards? GamersNexus is a youtube channel that does analyses. Them being wrong is not the same as a world renown company telling them their findings are total bullshit.
GN has upped the game so much, I am so much pleased watching this in-depth videos, well done Steve and the lads!
Love the Raza blade and soda can cap. Shows your not afraid of sharps objects.
