- I'll Take Manhattan is a 1987 American television miniseries, adapted from Judith Krantz's 1986 novel of the same name. Screened by CBS, it tells the story of the wealthy Amberville family, who run their own publishing company in New York. After Zachary Amberville, the patriarch of the family, dies, the company is taken over by his unscrupulous brother Cutter. Zachary's children, especially his energetic and intelligent daughter Maxi, begin a battle to regain control of their father's company.

I was searching on CZcams for this miniseries and since I couldn't find it, I decided I would upload it myself. Enjoy.
Jack Scalia...Stunning! ♥️
Isn't he just gorgeous❤!!
gorgeous !!!
Damn, last one. I need more 80’s. Badly. I need it.
Lily was such a brillantly written anti-heroine.. with lots of grey. Maxi finally put all of her talent and potential to good use by taking after her father!
I loved this mini series!! I loved Rocco and Maxi!!
I remember when this first aired. This was a HUGE miniseries.
As much as I love this mini series it would have been nice to see Cutter get his punishment he deserved it
Even Lily Should be punished. More than cutter she ruined everything. I am pulling off all my hairs after watching this shit..😥😥😥
@@funzone8777 It's not entirely Lily's fault. Zachary married her because his first girlfriend turned him down, she was his rebound. Lily was left with no other options after she never made it as a ballerina, so you can say Zack was her own rebound.
@@funzone8777 Exactly! I feel the same way. 😂
Lily killed him. That is worse than him going to prison.
@@tami8458 lily didn't love him so she bares part of the responsibility of her life.
Thanks for uploading! The 80s had some memorable miniseries. Some great acting, glamour, romance, and villian!
loved this, thank you for uploading. I read the book and watched it back in the 80's. Loved it then and it is still amazing to watch.. Still think Jack Scalia and Barry Bostwick are gorgeous leading men. Valerie Bertinelli is so cute
My favorite movie! Thank you for uploading it. I love Jack Scalia!
I'm so happy Maxi Rocco got back together
@@debbieholzherr2990 Nah, Maxine was too immature
Juliane Moore was a fantastic actress at the beginning of her career
What a wonderful mini series and I thoroughly enjoyed watching it again. Thank you for giving me many hours of enjoyment.
I watched this mini series when it aired in a local TV station in Puerto Rico, some 30 years ago, or rather some moments, not complete but enough to understand what was going on, and I loved what I saw. About 5 days ago I went through the 6 hours, 15 minutes, and enjoyed it even more. And now here I am, watching this part again, can't get it out of my mind... 😅
We just had rain for two days solid and this was a great treat to sink into.
It’s so interesting to see all the familiar actors in their earlier careers.
Thank you!
This is my favorite movie I watched it when it came out in the 80's and now I've watched it many times and I enjoy it every time I wish they would make movies like this new. Glad I can see these from the past.
What a show!!!! Can’t believe I don’t remember it back then but to watch it again and enjoy seeing some rising stars. Acting was very good and a great storyline. Thanks so so much. I agree cutter did r suffer enough in the end.
The secret to a good photoshoot. A fan and confetti. Who knew?
Thank you so much for uploading this again! This is one of my all-time favorites, just love everything about it!
read the book when it first came out, loved it and still have it. Enjoyed the series when first on TV and rewatched again today. Thank you...
Thank you so very much for posting this. You're awesome and made many people happy to watch this series again. 😊
Perry King is deliciously devious as Cutter. THANK you for this!!
The good old 1980 and 1990 just miss them so much
Love this series so much glamor
Something I could never understand is why wasn’t it questioned that 2 saddled horses would’ve arrived back at the stables after Zachery died. The horses would’ve found their way back. I guess it’s the difference between fiction and non fiction. Would’ve been more believable if that had been explained away though
Hired from different stables. Or cutter rode his horse back to the stables
Thank you so much for the upload, love this mini series 👍🏻
I love this mini series. A beautiful watch ❤
Thank you! Such a great movie! I haven't seen it since it came out. 😊
I agree with others ie the story would have ended by having Cutter arrested and convicted for the murder of his brother
Thank you for uploading, I thoroughly enjoyed this!!❤
LOL The Donald saved the day. He must have demanded a small role for allowing them to shoot at his property, similar to how he did for Home Alone 2.
The king of self promotion ! 😂😅😎
Haven't seen since originally watching in the 80s. Thanks sooo much for bringing it here!
Thank you so much for loading the series... I've been searching for it for so long!!!
I only recently found this a while back and couldn't remember the name, finally found it again!
One of the best I’ve watched. It’s been 30 years but I still remember this vividly
it was great fun to rewatch this. It was only vaguely memorable. I really liked all of the characters and the actors who played the characters. Thank YOU🙏🏼💘👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🌺CA
What a wonderful movie!... Thanks so much for sharing.
loved it thanks for uploading
I LOVE this. My favorite.
Absolutely beautiful movie love it can watch it many times❤️❤️❤️❤️
I loved this series, thanks so much!
This is my all time fave mini series since the 80s till now
Thanks for this upload it took me back to my teenage years. Everyone was so naturally beautiful, not like today. They should have had a finale though, so that we could see the weddings and so that Cutter would get his comeuppance. Wonderful series ❤
Thank you som much! 😘
Perfect, @1:08 ❤! Was waiting for that. Thank you for sharing this series, never saw it before.
Brilliant thanks !
Thank you so much for uploading this, i have been looking for it, for years
this is another ministeries i enjoy with big names i love judith krantzs and danielle steeles miniisteries movies they were great with big names to.
Thank you for the uploading! To say honestly, I began to watch these series because of Perry King, but I liked them fully (in spite of my not good enough level of understanding English speech and absense of even automatic subtitles, I've managed to understand the main things in the plot), though I agree with many people there that indeed it would be better to show Cutter having received full punishment for all of his crimes.
Lady,, stop kissing me I'm a married man,,,i was so happy for Maxi
Thanks so much for this tv series I enjoyed it
Brilliant thanks so much
Thank you!!
I have all the Judith Krantz & Barbara Taylor Bradford dvds from magazines or newspapers but I don’t have a DVD player atm. I must get one, but remember all the mini series from the first time round- thank you for uploading this, brings back so many memories 💕🥰
I know it was a different time in TV, but that hug between Justin and the fake model was ridiculous
LoL
It was the 1980's and Homosexuality was still a "No! No!" on TV. In the UK they did Same Sex Love Stories beginning in the 1970's with a Teleplay called "Girl". They had some amazing Timepiece Movies like "Man In An Orange Shirt"
That was Doug Davidson from Young and the Restless.
Shocked by how great Valerie Bertinelli is in this! It's wonderful! (: (: (:
My favourite movie until today....I have watched it hundred times
Thanks, good movie👍
Maxi & Lily are alot more alike especially when it came to Men. Can you imagine Maxi Amberville & Lucky Santangelo (Chances) working together. That would be a classic.
Just lovley to see the movie and actors
The real star here is whoever did the silver airbrushing on all those hairstyles.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
So good 😊
I was enraptured with this mini series. Wonderful that you uploaded this production. Barry Bostwick was awesome in this . I saw him in Scruples another book by Judith Kranz. Excellent actor. As for gorgeous sexy Perry King, he suited the part of Cutter. An evil devious villian yet so chharmingly sexy. As for Fransisca Annis, she is so elegant, sophicated and poised with a beautiful upper class accent is a joy to watch. She is one of my favourite actresses! The clothes, plot and decor just superb. Thank you.
Thank you so much for posting this. The acting is bad and the script terrible BUT I am enjoying this thoroughly 80s camp nostalgia. I love it🎉🎉🎉
Oldie but so good. Cutter a villian you just love to hate. 😊
Perry King is the best evil villain ever! Boy does he lean in to his character! He’s absolutely friggin amazing. I bet he’s sweet in real life
Valerie is beautiful
Great Ole-school Movie
interiors with wall to wall carpets 💜I would want that in my home and office
Trump was straight to the point.
Thank you for uploading this series. I've been watching to watch it for a while now, but unfortunately the one I tried watching was dubbed.
I also loved Justin's Electronic Typewriter. By today's standards it would be a Collector's Item.
Please upload some more good ones. Thnx
Isn't that Doug Davidson from the young and restless
Sure is! Alot of Soap Actors did Miniseries. Eric Braeden (Victor) Y & R played Dimitri Stanislopoulos in Lucky/Chances and Vincent Irrizarry (Santa Barbara, All My Children, Days Of Our Lives, Y & R, and Guiding Light) played Gino Santangelo in Lucky/Chances as well.
It sure is...
I would have loved for Jumbo Booker and Cutter to have "Words". Cutter would have said "I Made You, You Were Nothing But A Fat Tubby Boy That Nobody Looked Twice At!" and Jumbo could have said "You Used Me As Well, To Type Your Term Papers, To Lend You Money and you hardly paid me back, weasled your way to My Family's Society Parties, etc then you broke my Cousin's Heart over and over, now you got nothing. Cutter is now what's known as a Narcistic they are very dangerous people.
Jumbo rejects Cutter in the book. When Cutter contacted him after split with Lily, he told his secretary to tell him to leave him alone and hung up.
@@Turefu2 Exactly 💯 👏. Back in the day I read Judith Krantz and Jackie Collins. I am now into Nora Roberts but as a Teenager I read 📚 VC Andrew's. I also read alot of African American Fiction
Jack Scalia was so yummy
i was great tv series at that time
Cutter got away with his repeated betrayal and this is not true to real life experience. The movie unfortunately glorifies adultery and betrayal of family for Cutters was rewarded for even murder of his brother. The script was good but terrible in only this instance and sends the wrong message to our youth.
Barry Bostwick❤️
Brenda I agree ,Barry Bostwick I’ll raise you ❤️❤️
@@edwinawareing2395 ❤️❤️❤️😍
The first of many actors to play Danny Zuko in Grease. Also with Perry King, I remember him in The Lords Of Flatbush (1974) as David "Chico" Tyrell, he took Jane Bradshaw played by Susan Blakeley out for the day and they ate Hot Dogs at Nathan's the legendary Hot Dog Emporium. In The Book Jane tasted Pizza for the first time and she loved it.
Also Maxi was in the same boat that Princess Daisy was in. In her Senior Year Of College, she found out that her Brother Ram, who handled her Finances since she was still a minor at the time she found out that the Stock that provided her Money was gone and her Late Father's Girlfriend Annabelle also trusted Ram and she lost her fortune as well.
DJT! 🤗🤗 really loved this mini series!
Also Valerie Bertinelli and Jack Scalia did Soap Operas. She did Another World and he did All My Children. McKenzie Phillips did Guiding Light (Another World's Sister Show) and Bonnie Franklin (RIP) did The Young & The Restless.
I don't remember Valerie bertinelli in another world...
@@catherineannelockman3805 Don't be surprised. It was short term. If there was one thing that Judith Krantz never did was featuring People Of Color in her books unlike Jackie Collins.
Also keep in mind, the actor who played Justin was also in A Gathering Of Old Men who played Gilbertson "Gil" Bouton a College Football Player, who rushed home to the bayou of Louisiana after his Brother Bo was killed.
Please upload Dallars and Dynasty.
When I start this part 4 it is really part 2. Can you make this right?
Perry King... one of the all-time hottest men ever on TV.
1:22:58 I like her outfit with these drawings for a pattern
Hard to believe that Doug Davison was in this Miniseries. Mal Young who worked on The Young & The Restless who is from The UK Fired him and Eileen Davidson for a hot minute. Fans were furious. He had no idea that UK & US Soaps are as different as Night & Day. Also don't you notice that Adam Storke worked with Oscar Winners. Holly Hunter & Louis Gossett Jr. in A Gathering Of Old Men, then in Mystic Pizza with Julia Roberts & Matt Damon then in this Miniseries with Julianne Moore.
Paul from The Young and the restless
Rocky's just a tiny bit too hostile.. great looking but always angry.
I hope they get back together!......
Jewlery has always been the answer to a mystery or a question. Lili finds th pendant, Liza Colby finds a Necklace with large links on All My Children and she discovers that her Mother Marian slept with her Boyfriend Tad Martin in 1983, then on Eastenders Denise's necklace is used as evidence in a murder although she didn't do it.
Perry King makes a great baddie but I prefer him as Yank in The Hasty Heart with Cheryl Ladd and Gregory Harrison.
Gregory Harrison is amazingly handsome.
@@BirdTalk13 So is Perry King, I had cross on him sine I first saw him in "The Last Convertible", he often play bad boys, not always as corrupt as Cutter, the role he played in the Last Convettible was not nearly as bad.
🎉
OMG, DJT is being a nice guy 🤔
Valerie where were diaper bois hands n the off shoots...!!!😮😮😮
I forgot Donald Trump is a scene with Valerie Bertinelli. Lol!
:D
Loved seeing Trump! 2024!!
I must have been watching a different miniseries than most of the other commenters here. Valerie Bertinelli was woefully miscast and out of her depth--it's hard to know what it was that Maxi's husbands saw in this childish woman. Instead of projecting glamor and glitz, she often seemed overwhelmed by her wardrobe which she for the most part didn't have the bearing to carry off (and what was with that silly grey streak and hideous wedding gown). Barry Bostwick's Zachary was a crushing bore. Character development for most of the other players was almost nil. I dropped out before the end because I never developed enough interest in the characters to care what happened to them, so I dunno, maybe it got better. Though I doubt it.
Maxi and her mother Lili are alot alike than they admit. Lily only married Zachary because she got rejected for the Ballet, then Maxi seduces Rocco and he's older than her. A similar thing happened in Chances where Lucky Santangelo at 15 falls in love with a young man named Marco who is 30. they finally make love in 1975 when she is 25 and he's 40 but he's looks much younger. They always go for Older Men.
Well you can imagine the outcome of cutter ends in the slammer anyhow the series was ok but the acting was tacky it was more like musical beds than about a magazine but I have to say the best actor was Barry bostwik he is a great actor even in later years and still as handsomt
In The Book Version Justin used his Martial Arts Skills to hurt cutter and threw him down the Stairs. They wouldn't have allowed to show that a Homosexual can defend himself properly.
I liked this series but the ending felt unfinished.
We don’t see Cutter getting his due.
What happened to Justin’s playboy & getting his due.
Sloppy unfinished ending left up in the air
