  • As Gale and the Banks engineering team begin development of a super-turbo diesel engine for monster trucks, the first step is examining existing supercharged methanol engines under extreme racing conditions. Where do you start on the project like this? Data logging.
Gale explains how we'll be data logging Monster Mutt Dalmation's San Jose, CA race. At the heart of the data logging system is a Banks iDash 1.8 Data Monster (currently known as the iDash 1.8 + data logging). It's the most intelligent 2-1/16" gauge available. For more info on the iDash and its suite of sensor modules, head to bankspower.com/idash.

Finally. Someone who is actually doing their research just like an OEM. As an engineer, this is why I have always bought Banks equipment and always will.

Gale I'll help you on the throttle position part. If I remember right as a kid the percentages on gravediggers throttle position were either 0% or 100%!!

Ok, I'm new to this channel. The diff cover video caught my attention. About 2 minutes in I subbed. Not only does this man know his stuff, he can explain it! I understand him! His enthusiasum is infectious. I'm old but not dead, just a little disabled, and he's giving me ideas! I love diesels because they're stout and make real torque. All my diesels have been natural or turbo. Supercharged has got to increase throttle responce because it does on a gas motor. Some of these so called superchargers like Vortec and Pro Charger look like belt driven turbos to me and they have lag, too. The Roots type of charger makes boost off idle and that's old school! I'm sure the answer lies in supercharging or a combination of supercharger and turbo like today's 4 stroke outboards. I can't wait to see the out come of the diff cover issue. Maybe a system like NASCAR uses is the best solution. We'll see soon because Gale Banks is on the case.

Man I love the way these gauges look. Small and clean with a crisp display. And this has got to be one of the best channels I've ever subbed to. Gale Banks is a really cool guy for sure. Definitely will be buying some Banks products for my truck in the future.

I could listen to this guy describe how he buttered his toast for an hour- so engaging. Bank should have been pushing videos like his differential cover series A LONG time ago. And make some products for GM 6.0L gas engines!!

God damn tremendous respect to Mr. Banks and anyone who loves mechanics and engineering in the ICE area as much as him. I fear not too many kids in the coming generations will ever feel the love as much as us.

  • @peixinho1973

Greetings from Germany! Simply amazing! I love the U.S. for this. In Europe, this would have been totally impossible. Amazing!
