- Spain is the second most popular vacation destination in Europe. But what makes the Spanish lifestyle special? Do Spaniards really take a siesta every day? Are they actually unpunctual and do they eat dinner in the middle of the night? We sent our Australian reporter Brant Dennis to Madrid to spend the day like a local in the Spanish capital. Not only did he learn the essentials of Spanish small talk, but he also became acquainted with a strange local specialty!

Love to visit Madrid again.
Dude got himself a swell job ;)
❤❤❤
Nice video. Guapo/Guapa is very basic! Seems like they don't teach other languages in Australia? lol Siesta is legit even outside of Spain. North America has 'afternoon slump' though people aren't encouraged to nap.
That's true! Siestas need to go worldwide.
this isnt spain. its just being latino tbh. im brazilian and lived in bolivia and paraguay, too. its all the same with minor alterations. but the core is the same. down to the god forsaken lottery XD
Spaniards aren't latinos though 😶
The Spanish are Hispanic. The word Latino simply means Latin and comes from Rome. The culture of Spain is not the culture of Latin America. 🤔 Latin Americans adopted the expression latino because they want to avoid the use of the word Hispanic because Latin American with indigenous heritage don't want to be culturally associated with the Spanish conquistadors through the use of the word hispanic. @@anthea6669
Correct!
You are Indio. You are not Latino lol.
@@anthea6669They are the descendent of them.
Please do a Greek edition 🎉
We'll hopefully add more countries and locations soon!
My family is from Spain, and this video fell way way short of capturing the beauty of Madrid.👎🏼Rather than showcasing the vibrant essence of the city, it primarily focused on a crude street festival. Moreover, siesta is not observed in Madrid, it is observed in some southern regions because of the intense heat there. More importantly, people don't sleep during the siesta hours, they simply close their business and then reopen them late into the night. It's intriguing how this cultural detail was omitted suggesting that the Spanish only sleep and party--bigotry at its best.
What country did you flee to? Maybe that bigotry is justified if you had to leave your own country.
@@timbuktu93 What!??????
@@firstlast-em2yq your family is from Spain. Where are you? Why aren’t you in Spain?
Why the question? Makes no sense?@@timbuktu93
Siesta is "observed in some southern regions"? What are you talking about?? Madrid is not different to the rest of Spain.
Enjoy
