THE MCCONNELL STORY (Trailer)

Here's the trailer for THE MCCONNELL STORY (1955), a biopic based on the life of the jet pilot Joe McConnell. He had a fatal accident while the movie was being made, so the end had to be rewritten. Like many of AL's films, it is something of a flag-waver, but this time for the Korean war. However, this film focuses mostly on the love story, which is rather unusual for an AL film. Hence the movie is perhaps mostly of interest for the fact that AL and June Allyson fell in love during filming. Rumors about the affair caused quite a stir in fan magazines, because not only were they both married at the time, their marriages were generally regarded as models of domestic happiness.
