First Wash in 1 Year Porsche Macan GTS Used Car Detail

- The Porsche Macan GTS used car detail was desperately in need of a healthy cleaning after 1 year of being neglected. I was lucky enough to find this Porsche in poor condition and negotiate a below market price (according to Kelly Blue Book) before its restoration detail. Obviously, this was not a total or complete disaster detail nor was it disgusting. It was, however, not in a condition that I would accept and enjoy driving, so I was super excited to spend a few therapeutic days detailing an SUV I've always hoped I get to drive one day. -L

Larry, thanks for picking up that camera and sticking with it 10 years ago. I’ve been watching for almost that long and it’s been a pleasure learning from you, you’re an inspiration. 🤝
Larry, your early videos were the inspiration I had to start a home-based detailing side hustle. Specifically, your hour-long how to wash video. Three years later I am known in the community as the detailer to go see. Thanks a million for your content!

Why is that spray bottle so simple yet no one ever thought if it. It's genius

5 years watching your videos and still learning something new in each one. Thanks a lot!
This car was meant for you and Ammo NYC. Its great that this well neglected car found the most attentive owner. Have been following you since the beginning and after 10 years, you still put out consistent and informative content. Great job and continued success. I just purchased a well neglected ZL1 1LE and am in the process of doing a similar, albeit less challenging restoration.
My instructor was Jonathan Adler at the 2016 PCA event at NJMP and he mentioned your channel as we passed you and your track wheel trailer and waved. Always love when a video of yours pops up in my recommended! I will definitely be applying some of these techniques on my 235i calipers, hood chips, and microswirls.
10 years and 1.6 Million subscribers later, still humble and just as passionate, thank you Larry
Love these “first wash” videos so much!! There’s just something so satisfying about deep cleaning a unique piece of history. Please keep them up.
Larry, you're the man! You along w/ some of the other creators in the field saved me thousands in detailing costs and found myself an amazingly satisfying hobby!
every car I buy always under goes the same routine, day 1, initial clean + engine, just a heavy soap and hot water pressure washing wash, 2nd day I take off the wheels and take care of the mess behind them, and re-wash the car, 3rd day, I clean the interiors and all glass and touch up any trims or vinyls, lastly I always swap all filters and change up all the oils, in addition to spark plugs if it's not a diesel, and check up on any sensors and fuses etc.
I see you doing the same thing, which makes me happy to see that I'm not alone :)
And also, really glad to finally see someone cleaning the under carriage, I don't personally do it, cause I don't own a lift, and I only clean my personal cars, so buying a few thousand dollar lift is too expensive for my uses. keep up the great work.
14:50: Using that technique of watching for scratch removal while polishing is also superior because you’re removing the minimal amount of clear coat saving time, permanently removing less paint and less residue in the pad I.e. less blow outs. it is a game changer and way better than guess work if your environment allows it!!
01:18 how cool is that Wheel Holder...? 😃

Why are you watching these videos then!? haha
@@pearcepolcyn5497 Same reason people watch test drives/reviews of cars they know they'll never buy.
You’re the previous owner that every car guy longs for
I’ve been that previous owner, it’s a sad place to be, I ordered a Mini Cooper S in the mid 2000’s every optional extra, over £22,000 it cost, kept it for three years, washed and cleaned 🧼 it twice a week (I had a workshop at the time). Then traded it in for a another car and the dealer principal bought it for his daughter whom thought it wise after only two days of her having the car let her boyfriend drive it who promptly wrapped it around a tree 🌳 ... a complete write off 😢
These videos will always be satisfying to me, doesn’t mean I’m ever going to clean a car even 60% this thoroughly.
Just love how a clean car looks. On top of that doing it by yourself makes it so much more fun and super satisfying. I am picking up on some bits and pieces of knowledge to be able to future apply on my trusty Audi A3 8L.
