Reason why we like these older cars is that designers took a risk on making cars stand out. Cars today look basic. They may do a wild front grill but look at the rest of the car.
T R U E
As a transport design student, i guarantee you that this is false, the thing is we will do a wild concept, but engineering will ruin the wild lines we want for convenience.
Exactly! I tell my wife that all the time. Everything today looks the same. From mid late 90’s on everything became blah.
Right, but also you had less regulation on what you can and can't do.
@@VeilSideZ32 That kinda makes my point. Notice I didnt say all cars? But I purposely excluded super cars and hyper cars. So what are those designer's doing?
A bit of real effort from our general cars could be a bit better is all I ment. Dude you gotta relax all I expressed was a simple opinion.
You could feel the appreciation in this man's face when he saw his baby brought back to life. Another job well done sir...beautiful
I almost cried. That dude really appreciated that detail. It's like something he loved from his childhood was brought back to him.
I did a Larry flip last week. Bought a friends 2008 Ford SUV for the trade in value, $500. Using what I’ve learned from your channel I spent about 26 hours polishing, waxing, degreasing, washing……. I’m new at this.. What I thought was black paint was actually a dark blue metallic. Came out really nice.
Slapped a For Sale sign on it and parked it in my front yard. Sold it for 7 times my purchase price within an hour.
Thanks for teaching us how to care for our cars.
Awesome work!
That's awsome! 😎
That's too cool!
Even putting 26 hours of work into it, you still made ~$115 per hour. Welcome to your new side hustle. 💰
@Maxima most of the times it’s fine if the cleaner gets in there. Just use a scrub pad and or spray the cleaner on a microfiber towel and go at it. Haven’t had any issues with those techniques. Best of luck
The owner's reaction when he saw the car again was great! He was transported back in time 😁Also, who knew one little bird could cause so much havoc! I'd be so annoyed! lol
It's a contamination Jessie!
No one cleans and details old cars the way you do. Love your work!
That’s not true! Have you ever watched Chromatic? Another very talented detailer.
@@Youcallthesebagels_ yeh it is true. Thats guy is good at what he does but his vids are boring to watch. This guy is nxt level in comparison and keeps you interested in his vids.
@@motorheadaus3953 He's not boring. He does a good job of editing and getting cinematic shots. But Larry is superior in detailing
Not to mention his branding and marketimg stuff, these guys at AMMO are Pro👍🏻👍🏻
Not really alot of people around world can do this it ain't rocket science
"I spent a lot of time sideways in this car in the winter" just imagine how good it was for him the reveal, the way he looks at it and how he caresses the side when loading her on the truck, from a car enthusiasts perspective it's probably the best thing ever 💘 keep painting smiles on people faces Larry!
Agreed. Great to see the owner's love for his car :)
Very few times I've seen an owner touch a car with so much love. True car guy, through and through. Thanks Larry for making his dream come true!
Larry, the tunes you've been playing in the videos the last while have been an awesome addition. Almost 10 years into following your channel and the content keeps getting better and better.
One of my favorite designs from the 80s. It’s amazing how well it’s aged, nearly 40 years after it was introduced. Love how the owner is so emotionally attached to the car. Great job Larry!
Something about this car embodies the 80's perfectly. I blend of the Japanese tech wave and American muscle attitude. I wish there were more of them around. The first one I ever saw was while I was a teen walking around my town and I had no idea what it was, but fell in love immediately.
I owned an 87 Conquest which looks slightly better imo. loved that car. this video was a trip down memory lane
@@twoshady518 same here. Mine was a light blue metallic. Fairly rare color and the most beautiful car I've ever owned.
The Starion is still a great looking car in 2022 - especially now it is VERY clean and shiny!! Can't wait to see it after the rebuild!
Easily the coolest Mitsubishi ever built, so much character!
What a satisfying vid. Great to see the owner’s emotion when a piece of his youth is rejuvenated. Nicely done, Larry. 👍
I owned 4 of these throughout the late 90s to late 2000s. I am glad these cars are finally getting the flowers they deserve. They're a timeless design.
I always tear up when you reveal these beautifully restored vehicles to their owners. I don't know why. It's like you're giving them a piece of their youth back. Excellent detail.
I almost can't hold the tears.
The owner reaction and his happiness face make your work almost something therapeutic.
You're a very Luck person, who works making other people happier while you do what you love.
Keep going Larry, Continue making reality some people dreams.
Greetings from Spain
Back in the late 1980's my friend had a Starion. It was a super fun car to drive. They really did perform as advertised.
Hey Larry, before this video blows up, just wanna say hi from India. Your videos are like therapy ❤️
Thanks for watching! :)

This car still looks great and cool 34 years later.. loved the wheel arches.. such an aggressive design for the era…
One of my all time favorite JDM cars. Outstanding job.
It’s not a jdm car though?
@@mj_aussie_coaster_travels8310yes it is
Love seeing the owners face when they see their car as they remember it when it was new. That’s the best part.
Cool to see older car guys into the early Japanese stuff
My great grandpa was really into Mazda wankels it's rare but it happens lol
What an amazing job you did! This is my favorite Mitsubishi ever, still a great looking car today! Mitsubishi was NEVER known for great paint and I've never seen one this old look this good!
I'd go to the local dealer as a kid just to stare at these. Still one of my favorite 80's cars.
The conquest TSI (same car) with the digital dash instead of analog was my dream car as a teenager in the 80's
I used to do the same, pass by at night and stare at the Starion through the dealership fence and thought to myself “one day”. 34 years later I finally got my dream car.
I hope the owner is serious about getting that gem up and running again. That's too nice of a survivor to just stick it back in the garage and let it sit some more. An amazing job again Larry !!!
Glad to know what will happen with this car!
I've always wanted one of these. It's like a mix between a fox body and old Porsche and an old Audi Quattro. That thing is going to be worth some money after the restore. Looks amazing
This restoration is in "a league of their own". And yes, a tear was shed because its so beautiful.
I'm in the same age range as Paul and it was awesome to see him instantly reconnect with the Starion when he first saw it all cleaned up. Not all of us have that opportunity...
My all time favourite car from the 80s! Sooo enjoyed watching this one! Can't wait to see and hear it on the road after the mechanical rebuild.
Always loved those cars. I remember when they were new. Glad to see this one is getting saved and put back on the road.
22:35 the way he felt the car before being hauled away on the flatbed really shows how special the car is to him although nothing was said in that moment you know in his head he was saying "its ok you are finally going to get fixed"
Your videos always have the best sound tracks. Your explanations make me wnat to get into the detailing business. Keep up the great work
Love these 80's & 90's "Radwood" detailing videos! Keep'em coming!
I hope this make over by Larry motivates the owner to this beautiful car back on the road that it deserves. Ive always wanted one of these cars.. Beautiful design...nice curvaceous curves
Now that's a blast from the past. I used to race a friend's Starion Turbo at Bridgehampton back in the mid 80s. I even remember those Formula Fords like the one's in the pictures that this guy used to race. Great memories!
The fact that he is not only a true professional but he is also able to produce amazing videos and has his own brand with different liquids for detailing is super impressive.
I could smell the mold thru the screen... wowser, what a transformation. Thanks for bringing us, Larry!!
Wow that hurt seeing the Starion in that condition before getting it revived - that is one of my 5 cost-no-object cars and I'm so happy to see it revived
The look on the owner's face when he walks in, says it all. Nothing else needs to be said. Another fantastic job Larry.
Hey Larry, it would be absolutely amazing if you could follow up with the car owners & film the mechanical restoration as well every once in a while, it's great to see the cars come out of your garage looking brand new but we also want to see the engine rebuild & all the other mechanical stuff as well.
Yes!
Love that you cover all the background on these cars and their ownership as well, thank you Larry. Such a nice tribute to the owner.
Amazing video. That is a man that is truely in love with his car. His reaction to the clean car was beautiful.
You are amazing - there is crying in detailing…I choked up. Beautiful restoration of an awesome car. Thank you for sharing these videos.
I’ve got a 1988 Starion and I’m anxious to get it back from the body shop. They’re a great car and seeing what you did for that black beauty makes it even better. Thanks for sharing!
Movie reference: A League on their own. "There's no crying in baseball". Awesome job!
Gorgeous time capsule of a bygone era! They truly don't make them like that anymore.
One of the channels that I never missed a single upload.
I’d drive that sporty little throwback all day. Nice work!
This has to be my favorite Ammo detail episode yet. That Starion is a gem!
Amazing that he has had it since new! Glad he will be putting the work in to get it roadworthy again. Very cool car and amazing work bringing the paint and interior back to life.
One of the few cars that look better wearing the factory rims. Love it!
Agreed! And they were only 16 or 17 inch wheels. Kinda like the Celica GT-S with similar wheels.
Ah, very magnificent. When the old owner reunites with his old, trusty partner. Never gets old, brings you to the memory lane. What a stunning experience. That car looks majestic more than some of the newer cars today. Ah, Larry, another great episode!
This detail and restoration came out SO GOOD! What a before and after. I had never seen the Starion before, but it's a beautiful and classic 80's design.
You are such a class act Larry! What a great moment when you captured Paul's raw emotions on camera. You continue to amaze me with your detailing skill set, passion and communication. I wonder if a glossy black wrap or even the colored PPF's available would have been a good option to hide the pounding that the hood and front bumper took over the years. Anyhow, just a thought. Thanks again and blessings over you and yours during the upcoming holidays.
The way the owner touched the car at the end was heartwarming! You can definitely tell he loves this car.
Why yes Larry I am crying! I miss my 88 station and 89 conquest. As always you knocked it out of the park. Thanks for the content and taking me back to my teenage years.
Amazing car, very under-appreciated! So much fun to drive!
Great work Larry, again. Definitely a re-paint in its future. But to bring it back that far was amazing. I'm sure you'll get a ride once the engine rebuild is done. maybe post that vid someday? Just ordered your AMMO Mousse for my 986
Needs a 4g63 swap.
this is absolutely one of my FAV ammo videos.. i love the STARIon and it's really cool that a guy his age loves that car too. such a cult car!
Larry 👍👍
I'm sure when you1st started detailing, you never imagined it would ever become what it is today. Your incredible skills, your products, in your studio, all being captured on your CZcams channel. 👏Bravo Mate. Take a bow!!
These kinds of videos are the best because you can see all the memories come back to the owners once they see it clean. Awesome video!
This thing actually looks incredible, thank you for bringing this beautifully designed car back to life Larry!
Wow, honestly probably the best car this channel has ever featured! I miss the Mitsubishi of the 80’s/90’s
Love seeing these JDM cars get cleaned up. Hoping for an old NSX, Supra, or RX-7 at some point.
Hell of a job Larry! Amazing transformation. I've always had a thing for the Starion... Incredible!
The Mitsi Starion and the Dodge Conquest were beautiful cars back in the day. The body lines were superb.
I have an 88 Conquest and it almost made me cry at the owner's reaction. These cars are special.
The Starion/Conquest was one of my favorite cars when I was a kid in the 80s, especially in that electric blue they came in. It's still one of my favorites and I was stoked to see you get to restore one...especially a survivor like this with those awesome factory wheels! Beautiful car, excellent work!
Always loved the design of the Starion. They look so badass just wish they had the horsepower to match the looks!
Man, I love these videos. Thank you, Larry!
The owners response to the reveal ….. priceless ! That man loves his car .
Love from Sweden!
Have followed you for a couple of years. From the garage at your house before the garage remodell. Love your content and you have learned me everything i know about detailing. Family, Friends and coworkers love their cars tranformations.
I really love these type of cars from this era. Would be amazing if we could see an Toyota Supra MK3 on the channel or an Mitsubishi 3000GT
Look how cool that thing is, I always loved the Starion, it just looks so sweet. Great job as always Larry! I love seeing these classic 80's rides restored to their former glory.
Man, I love these videos. I know they're hard to do, Particularly after your chat with your buddy Matt... But you're so good at saving these cars! Great videos
Amazing job 👌
Congratulations Larry
I love the owner reaction
It's very comfortable when the owner look his car
You are not a professional detailer , you are a professional restoration man
You should put AMMO sticker in each car that you do
How much is a polisher machine that you use ? It's amazing
Hell yeah 👍
This was one of the best before and afters esp with his reaction ontop
Hey Larry! Just wanted to give you a shout out and tell you that I really enjoy all of your content. I’ve been watching your shows for a few years, and it’s always exciting to see what you’re up to. I’ve been detailing for ~5 years (mostly my own stuff) and I’ve learned a lot from you. I also enjoy using your products. So, good stuff all around, man. Keep up the awesome content 😊👍🏼
Larry, it is not that you just do great work…but your enthusiasm and attention to detail and overall your humanity if you will….I know it’s “just detailing cars” but…your videos project a very positive message that you normally don’t see in most social media…well done.
Thanks for the support!
One of the most beautiful cars ever designed. Love the Mitsubishi Starion. With those wheels, they remind me of the Supras of that era
Great video. The look on the owners face is priceless.
The Starion was the predecessor to the Eclipse. It has Porsche 928/944 influences in its styling and still looks sharp today. Great job on the detailing Larry!
It was actually the predecessor to the Mitsubishi 3000GT.
I bought my ‘88 Conquest TSI in ‘92 & still have it to this day.
Car is still mint too.
One of my bucket list cars. They look aggressive sitting still.
The Man Was Speechless and the good times came back and then some. Larry, what a Beautiful Video. This is what Car Love is.
Reminds me of the black 86 Dodge Daytona that I bought in high school for $500. I detailed that thing to the best of my ability and was so proud of that car. This video certainly took me back.
Mate I love wide body Starions and will one day buy one, i've had two in my life and this last one will be the keeper. The memories came flying back watching you do your stuff , the wheels down to the black interior with the orange detail. Thank you for your time doing this mate . Regards from Australia
Amazing work! This needs a follow-up video once the Starion is up and running.
Those cars are classic same as Conquest. Brings back great memories of mid 80's! Thanks for sharing
Larry great choice for the music in this video…fits the transformation perfectly
Great story, Larry. This car is one of my favorites, so I hope the owner will get the engine fixed and start driving it again.
Hey Larry, I appreciate the work you do and how passionate you are about what you do, I hope to find work that does the same thing for me, keep up the work I enjoy all your vids.
This is one of the most beautiful JDM cars ever.
Ive never even heard of this car and am not really into smaller import cars like this but this thing is sweet, the style is epic, both interior and exterior are so cool
This 100% needs a follow up so we can catch up on how the rest of the restoration is going.
Absolutely stunning before and after Larry! God that car looks amazing. Wasn't aware this car existed and I really love the way it looks. You can tell the owner truly cares about that car by the way he looks at it and touches it. Proud to be a subscriber and user of your products!
Amazing job Larry! Love your work! 👍🏻👍🏻
And this is why I love Larry’s videos. Amazing transformation and detailing tips at the same time. Great work by editing and choosing the right songs for the video. 💪🏼🙌🏼
The woodpecker would be awesome to incorporate in your video game!
Awesome video once again ❤
Haha, a boss battle perhaps? 😀
wow
Larry, you're simply the best! I love the passion in your eyes! Awesome work!
Spectacular and what a detailed job! I love these videos I can't get enough of them please keep them coming.
