I did not think Nolan would beat Zach's time, tbh. I was under the impression Zach was a more experienced driver, but the fact that Nolan had a time only a second slower than a pro driver's was impressive.

something very worth mentioning is how long it will take for them to wear out, i hade a couple of coilovers from a budget swedish company and they dont really give the same suspension at all like they did in the beginning. like, it almost feels like they're shot now
Yeah this. I actually had a pair of maxspeed and they blew out In less than 6 months.

11 months late. But this was my thought as well. It's more difficult to test longevity and reliability because human can be so impatient. I ran TEIN Monoflexes for the last 13 years and sent them in for refurbish to TEIN about a month ago. (They recommend every 3 years refurb.... sheieieieieieieieieieieie bruh)

We need to talk about the enormous jump in the quality of this show. Really impressive. Love it even more.
I'm about 2:15 into this episode, and this is notably leveled up. The editors must have worked overtime! Loved the detail of the boxes exploding away to the posed coilovers on the table. That smooth time lapse of Jobe explaining the install while he does it was incredible! And tossing the coilover gag with the victim behind, perfect.
You guys were awesome before, this is simply incredible stuff.

They will have to at one point. There are only so many "low" parts they can put on cars, it doesn't matter what car it is either. You can buy these MaxShittingRods for hundreds of different cars but at the end of the day, they are garbage no matter what you put them on. Just like "Up to Speed", this won't last forever unless they really go out of the box. I really believe the next step for them is buying salvage cars and restoring them.

Donut has always been good at teaching with a simplified style of explaining ting, without skipping too many important details. We have an NB2 Miata that we bought the Maxrods for and they need to be refilled with the hydraulic fluid. The issue we are having and would love the help on is, we can’t find the correct fluid and specs to rebuild them. We even called the company and visited their site but there were no clear instructions on the subject.

My 98 civic has max speeding rods I had them for 3 years and they still work brand new, I had bc coils before and they leaked twice, Im always buying max speeding rods they are also comfortable for daily driving

Anybody ever heard of Gecko Suspensions? When I bought my '10 MINI Cooper Clubman S it definitely needed a set of coilovers. After a bit of research I decided to go with a set of Geckos for about $1300. For that price they are the best set of coilovers I have ever bought. Since then I've gotten my Clubman to push about 320ish hp with a 4.3 0-60. The 60-120 is even more impressive, but where the car really shines is on the track. I have had and driven cars with Tein, Skunk2, Bilstein and KW Variants. My Geckos ride just as good and I'm proud to have them on my car. They really are a good set of coilovers. If your on a budget they are really hard to beat in my opinion. Great High/Low video. Love the new Boost Creep shirt. I had to go ahead and grab one before they sold out.

It would have been nice to compare the OEM and see the internal parts of the stock dampers on this. Nice to know stock baseline. Wouldn't WRX come with something better than a stock Camry?
I have a set of the maxspeeding coilovers on my ek. It is not a track car, but a daily driver. I Have about 5-6k's on them after about 2 year. I have had no issues with them and for the money they even have a fairly decent ride.
We're building a WRX too... we should have a race once they're done!

I installed Revelle coilovers (made by Tein) on my Civic and couldn’t be happier. They have 32-way adjustable dampers by simply turning a knob on the top. I probably have them set slightly too firm at the center but I just watch where I drive.
Nolan is always so positive, he's a gem.

i have fa500's on my wrx and maxpeedingrod sp1's (their newest version) on my ek coupe and they both have their pros and cons. performance-wise, fa500's take the cake. comfortability and affordability, maxpeedingrods are solid. i honestly love them both lol

I love these Hi Low car videos because it gives you an excellent comparison between high end and budget parts.
I got cheap coilovers off Amazon for my Mazda3. I knew it was a bad idea then and boy was I right. First, quality was very cheap, ride noise increased incredibly. Handling did improve but eff they are stiff. Way more stuff than any other coil over I've ever seen. And the front coilovers started leaking fluid within 4 months and were gone by 6.
Just gotta say it breaks my heart that the production quality of the Forza Donut Media content was 1/100th the quality you guys deliver on a regular basis here...

I think you should have put the stock suspension on the dyno and shared info with that as well. To show if the $300 suspension is worse or better than stock
What would dynoing a car with different suspensions show? The dyno represents horsepower and torque ratings… the difference a change in suspension would make is best represented on the track handling turns and ride quality

Its funny that High car is a base model But low car is the limited and decked out model
but theres just a few things to know and keep in mind...oil pick ups , engine temps, wrx are and can be great cars. they just cant handle Constant abuse and constant strain over 4k rpms when they're in their stock form. I wouldnt be surprised if you guys went through about 3 to 5 motors in total through out this whole season of High Low, first thing tho replace those stock oil pickups, huge major flaw, stock is like a sippy straw vs aftermarket is like shoving your face in the barrel, that part alone can help for not losing oil when taking hard fast turns

God it took no time at all for me to binge every episode of Hi Lo and I'm so excited to see a WRX version. This series has given me enough confidence to get to building an S15 this winter!

What I took away from this video after watching all the drama with the Hi car sometimes it's better to cheap out or leave certain things alone...
I was looking at BC Coilover's for my Nissan Juke. I just did new Control Arms/Ball Joints, and I am on a set of PCS cheap loaded front coilover's that are supposed to match the stock, but they ended up being better than stock, and it's a Mcpherson strut too so I guess I got lucky with them.. They go for like $1200 but they can sometime be found for under a $1000 on sale.. I never went with them though it's a Juke.. I changed out the exhaust and inner cooler piping, did a nice lower front mount Mishimoto innercooler and had her Dyno tuned.. I dumped all I'm going to dump into her..
Guy's are getting them up to 425 WHP but it's a horrible catch 22, Because they can only make that kind of power with the (Manual Front Wheel Drives) so the power never hits the road. Even with bigger wheels and tires they just spin. Without AWD drive the Jukes just spin wheels all the way through forth gear.. I have the CVT AWD and can't push past 260 Wheel torque because of the CVT. And I swear when I am locked in just Front Wheel drive it pulls hard to what ever wheel grabs first and I even spin wheels to about 40 miles an hour. When I am in AWDV she grabs nice but I lose power through the transfer case.. The whole platform is a catch 22, really.. The cars are like 180 HP stock but even with the little stock turbo they can be turned up to a little over 250 WHP.. I spent about 6000 on parts and a tune over the last 4 years and I guess it was worth it.. I went from 180 HP to around 260HP and 260WT, So I did gain a little over 80 horses without swapping out the turbo.. Like I said there are guy's getting these Jukes up over 400 but honestly anything over a solid 300/325HP is wasted because of the way the car puts the power down even with Coilover's..

My maxpeeding coilovers were so bouncy on the stiffest setting and only lasted about a year but I bought them because I was still learning a lot about cars and suspension but I recently switched to racelands and they’re amazing so far for only a few hundred $ more
Racelands are basically in the same tier of product as maxpeeding both cheap made in China coilovers, if you want something better get some KWs,BCs or Bilsteins
Would you recommend that I install racelands on my e46 coupe or should I spend a couple hundred more dollars for something better ?
Race lands are soften out after 6months. Been through 3 sets with in 2 years. Mainly front seals blowing out. Then I had to swap to 12kg 180mm length springs. No issues after that.

@mariolanderosgarcia5373 you're better off saving your money for longer and buying quality coilovers. If you were to buy cheap Chinese coilovers you'll end up spending more money in the long run as opposed to just buying the right ones the first time.

6:13 most likely if there is only one adjustment its bound. Rebound is more about matching your springs and wheel weight, any decent shock maker can get you close on rebound. Bound has the most control over handling and ride comfort so likely any shock that is single adjustable is going to be bound.
As an owner of cheap coilovers that made my car feel like I bolted the wheels right to the body... yes, more is better in this case 😄

@@babagandu first off do some research there's usually an option that isn't expensive that won't turn the car overly stiff. Then you should just be able to google the name of the coil over and "buy"
