First Wash in 4 Years BMW Z8 Alpina 1/555 Ever Made!

- This was a daily driven BMW Z8 Alpina 1 of 555 ever made and extremely rare. 4 or 5 years ago, the collector car sat in his driveway with a cover on it untouched. Recently a friend found and purchased the car with hopes of restoring it back to its original condition and selling it for a profit. My job is to detail and restore the BMW paint and interior disaster back to new, as this is the first wash and detail it has received in 4 years. For me this qualifies as a disaster vehicle restoration with a smelly, moldy, gross interior with cigarette ash, interior swirls on the black plastic trim, moss growing under the hood, and super deep scratches on the painted front fender, all on an incredibly rare BMW z8 Alpina which qualifies as a filthy full detail and first wash. There is a huge before and after satisfaction and gratifying reveal so watch until the very end. We performed a paint correction with full compound and polishing after we removed the damaged clear coat on the front driver side and passenger side fenders. Once done we applied AMMO Reflex Pro to the exterior for insane reflection and paint coating protection, Gelee Pro on the wheels all before the customer reveal at the end. Imagine being so wealthy that you leave your Alpina outside for 5 years without a care in the world.
original owner probably sold it for pennies on the dollar as well seeing as the new owner immediately brought it to Ammo (for what was probably a $3-5k job) and is now going to immediately flip it.

This is a stone cold beautiful car - I can't think of any car from the last 30 years that has such a classically beautiful design. It's in my dream garage for sure. And what an amazing job you did on it. Not sure what you charged for the job, but the owner is going to make so much more back in it's new condition!

This car is a masterclass of design, i still remember when i saw for the first time and feel in love, by the time it was already more than a decade old, still one of the most beatiful cars ever made.
who would treat such car like this in the first place. the z8 design is one of a kind fusion between old and modern, which makes it insanely iconic beyond any doubt.
Absolute masterpiece of a car. I wish BMW would go back to a simpler and more elegant design such as this; as compared to the gaping cocaine-nostril monstrosities they produce now.

That is so awesome! That black paint on BMW cars does seem soft. I have done a couple of them and struggled with haze here and there with normal techniques. I had to change my pad and compound and just like you did, use less products and also soften up on my pressure on the polisher a bit. You do awesome work! I use these videos as a model of how I want my dream detailing shop to be.

Out of the channels I watch you're detailing videos are the best. Pan has the best products and tool videos and the auto pros in Chicago is a good mix of both. But I could seriously sit and watch your detailing restoration videos for HOURS

Btw in 2012 I photographed and drove one of these for my job at Penske Auto Group. At the time I thought this thing is cool but didn’t grab my attention. Now I understand why it’s so unique. Beautiful. Glad I had that experience even if I didn’t fully appreciate it at the time

Been following for about 10 months now, watched around 50 videos and have appreciated all. A question to Larry and/or those who follow more closely than me: How does a guy who built the business doing the heavy lifting, but now has more responsibilities as a manager, leader, marketing face, etc., still have the time to roll up his sleeves and do, forgive me, the grunt work of these jobs? It’s actually quite inspiring.
I've read that he only trusts himself to do the work to the same level of care and that he genuinely enjoys the work.
