5:37 there’s a 51% chance that AT LEAST ONE of the opposing pokemon gets poisoned, so the urshifu is still only dying 30% of the time in this scenario
Same thing at 6:35. Every pokemon hit with an attack only has a 30% chance of getting poisoned

Seems silly. You look at it and just think special attacker.
Toxic chain could go kinda crazy with Shadow Tag. Spread the toxic around early, then when Fez goes down bring in something fat to stick around and turn it into a war of attrition
Maybe Maushold for super fang + friend guard?
you know that "super fat" mon has to be wo-chien, for even more stall
Exactly, perfect for my H-Goodra and Alolan Ninetails team

Absolute shame this thing doesn't get Draining Kiss. Healing that could proc Toxic Chain, but also could benefit from Technician, as well? I can't fathom why they'd omit this move.
If they give Fezandipiti Draining Kiss in the next gen or an update it'll become easily one of my favorite mons ever
Would love if you looked at Empoleon and compare it to Milotic
Man I love your content. This is my first year playing VGC I’ve played Smogon since 2014 but your videos have really helped me learn a lot
The fact that this thing is a physically offensive support mon isn't the worst part of it to me, its that they gave it such a good special movepool and then 70 spatk like it can use that movepool
they should have cut the spatk for more defense and atk , maybe a bit of speed and also , why does it doesn't have the glimmora move , it suits this pokémon
Gamefreak fucking with my head making a bird weak to EQ
Right ! 😂
It's a metaphor for hubris perhaps
i love how this youtube channel is the “let him cook” channel, i really like your videos!
5:30 you said that there's a 50% chance that a focus sash 'mon (Urshifu) will still go down due to Toxic Chain. BUT it's still only a 30% chance you poison Urshifu specifically - the 50/50 is saying that an attack that hits both opposing Pokémon will inflict poison on either one or the other
I know it sounds like a nit-pic but that math was important just used a not so good example at the end
the poison spam set will probably be pretty good with roost. it might be a bit too passive vs something like taunt but staying alive forever and poisoning things might be good on stall.
maybe you could invest more in defense and use dual wingbeat with assault vest
healing could come from amoonguss pollen puff, it might work
@@dashingclasher technician isnt worth it. its better to stay alive forever with a 30% chance to toxic every turn instead of wasting your ability to do 12 damage instead of 8

Super excited to see these analysis vids come back with the DLC. Looking forward to the one about the funny monkey.
Looks really strong, i dont think ill be using them though because of what they did to Ogrepon..
I had a lot of fun running Fezindipiti in Reg F with Archaludon. I was running light screen, tailwind, tail slap and venoshock (I ended up dropping tailwind because my Tornadus has it instead). Item was loaded dice. Using tail slap on Archaludon just once gives him 3-3.5x defence, and that eane turn you can deal massive damage with body press (no need to wait). And light screen to patch up Archaludon's low Sp Def, makes him ridiculously tanky and very difficult to remove. It wasn't a gimmick that I relied upon to win every match but when I did pull it off (whcih was generally not difficult to do) it was funny watching the enemy trying to find a way to deal with 3x def Archaludon under light screen... Oh and suddenly now the enemy is poisoned too. Yah love Fezandipiti. It's seriously underrated.
I feel it's been a bit too power crept to bother with in Reg G, but it's not an unviable pick if someone still really wanted to use it.
Oh, ps. I've been running Tera Dark. It really comes in handy to totally disrupt any expanding force shenanigans and attempts to disrupt it using prankster.
rozepanter: this things is a fucking disgrace and i wished it ended up with blue's raticate
Dang I haven’t even beat the dlc yet and ur already making guides, good shit man
Also you can run Double Kick on the offensive technician set if you want to hit steel types
The Tinkaton at home fr with that stat spread
Fezandipiti does learn Beat Up...
Oh boy.
Someone needs to make merciless work even if it’s through skill swap because it would be so nutty. Use this to spread the poison and then get off guaranteed crits to just shred through everything.
Absolutely criminal that merciless is only on one pokemon who doesnt evem have triple digits in an offensive stat
@@decidueyefan3844 well technically he could.with power trick and baton pass for a nice meaty 421? Attack stat. But your asking to be 1 Shot even with Trick Room up. That’s why I figure skill swap would be better, especially passing something like prankster to Toxapex, priority recover would be hilarious.
Merciless would fit very well thematically on Drapion and Overqwill.

Waiting for my update. Exactly the length of the video, good speed investment on the length.
Being 3 months from this upload, I can say that it is probably the best one in my opinion. It has speed control utility with a toxic chance with icy wind, spread chip with dazzling gleam, and respectable defensive typing, respectable defensive stats, access to tail wind, roost recovery, beat up for justified mons or annihilape sets, spread chip with burn and toxic chance in heat wave, taunt, double kick/dual wingbeat for higher chance toxic chain procs, tailwind, acid spray, and both flatter/swagger. It has an underrated amount of utility and will in my opinion be a strong niche support in the upcoming restricted format kind of like how crobat was while definately being usable in the current format.
Shiftry as a partner would go nuts. I believe it gets fake out, dark type to block prankster, wind rider should work on it with the moves (or tailwind, if the moves poison it)
You could also run it in sun
I don't understand why they made ANOTHER support mon with this typing. Would have been a sick offensive threat
Because they don’t care fr
actual articuno type beat
Trying to create a new support mon for ppl to use other than Amoongus or Grimm would be my guess
With this typing? Is the first one

Was thinking about Roost for some healing. Maybe over Venoshock.
Idk why but I can see Fezandipiti being Valerie’s ace
My fav of the 3 can’t wait to invest some time in the DLC ❤
It’s the worst??? Noooooo😢
I think ogerpon might be broken.specially the pure grass form.Defiant, and incarnate body(or whatever the ability is called)is able to get you a free dragon dance + attack with 2x STAB 100 Power 100% accurate Ivy cudgel with 120 base atk if the opponent starts with an intimidate user. Also ogerpon gets stomping tantrum u-turn knock off play rough spiky shield and brick break lol
While not necessarily something I see slotting every time, I think superpower also bears mention.
I love this pokemon by design, but the stats are 💀
As a person whose favorite typing is poison and always looking to get a reason to poison stuff, I'm happy about these 3 dinguses.
I want to post an idea and would like to hear everyone’s opinion since i’m no pro but i was wondering, what if had plain grass ogrepon with covert cloak, the moves : grassy glide, ivy cudgel, protect, and a coverage move(i was thinking stomping tantrum.)/rillaboom with grassy surge/ grassy glide, fake out,u turn, (free move)/ grimsnarl with prankster/ parting shot, fake out, taunt, spirit break and lastly thunderus with taunt, tailwind, wild bolt storm, u turn/volt switch. the idea is to use prankster boosted parting shot on your own ogrepon with grimsnarl to get his attack up by 3 stage and switch to rillaboom to have terrain for grassy glide all on turn one. with the all the boosts from defiant and terrain i imagine you become a threat real fast. then the idea becomes to use fake out and glide to help keep the fight somewhat 1v1. the taunts are to prevent haze from ever coming out after tera ogrepawn transforms and the tailwind help the other pokémon still move first should an ability or physic terrain prevent priority moves from coming out. i think that this idea is flexible enough to get around most obstacles, of course it is not perfect. for items i was thinking something around heavy duty boots, kings rock, terrain extender. so for those who read this far thanks, what do you think, and what are the best evs for this and are there better moves to use.
I like the idea of dipplin and a pokemon like gengar or alolan ninetales for hypnosis and tales gives u blizzard and veil.
Cool vid! Is Technician even required for Dual Wingbeat? Tera buffs up to 60 anyways iirc based on the Mud-Slap Tera Ground Roserade
Tera Ground Mud Slap Roserade doesn’t have base 60 power. It has technician but it only boosts a moves base power by 50%. Including stabbed gain from Tera Ground, Mud Slap goes from base 20 power to base 45
20*1.5 (Technician)= 30*1.5 (Tera Ground)= 45
Tera Flying only provides a stab bonus, so Tera Flying Fezandipiti would gain stab on Wingbeat giving it a base 180 BP Flying type move
@@browserjunior4707 Did you see pokeaims video regarding this? Iirc it silent buffs to 60 always
Nevermind apparently this change is not listed under the technician ability page but instead on the Terastallization Page. My bad
Tbh while his movepool is a little questionable, Fezandipidty certainly takes advantage of toxic chain (and latter Technitian) very well
And in an unrelated note (spoilers ahead):
I find it funny Fezandipity looks like its female when is fully male locked while Ogerpon is the one that is female locked despite being more neutral looking
Based on its name and the plumage, Fezandipiti makes sense being a male only pokemon. Male pheasants have much more colorful plumage than the females do, as do most bird species with the most obvious example probably being peacocks and peahens
@@conorb.1901 Also remember Asia goes more into the "pretty boy" look than the West.
It doesn't matter, I love him.
Guys hear me out, Fezandipiti paired with Wo-Chein for a stall duo. Fez does get roost so I could work pretty well
Just throwing this out here, if I had to pick the typings, I would have went Flying Poison for the Pheasant. Fairy Poison for the monkey and Water Poison for the Dog, gives it a huge opportunity to be good into urshifu as a hard check and Flutter Mane respectively
See I wouldve thought Monkey was Poison water since you fight it next to water and it’s blue, Dog being fighting made sense to me since I mean- yeah look at it 😂, but I’m just learning that bird is a damn Fairy type? Not flying? That was weird to me I would’ve thought it’d be nice to have another poison flying but I was wrong I guess 🤣
The dualwingbeat set looks good for singles
It has Beat Up
I generally prefer offensive stuff so I'll probably stick with glimmora on my current team, but this set seems cool I might use it at some point
This pokemons kinda crazy cuz it has decent bulk especially on the spdef side. But gets a lot of spread moves and support moves. I think icy wind, tailwind, dazzling gleam and heat wave for coverage. I think to really make this pokemon work it has to get the poison. Basically each turn you have a 66% chance to poison one pokemon.
You should showcase trick scarf monkey dori
Do you think ogerpon will be a good follow me mon?
I wanna have a serious conversation with whoever decided my favorite lousy chickens stat spread
Tera Flying Fezandipiti with Dual Wingbeat is a pretty funny set.
If you’re paired with flutter mane, wouldn’t it be more worth it to run heat wave so you also have the chance of burn on top of the chance of poison?
What do You think about BloodUrsa, Dapplin, Sinistcha AND Ogrepon with her 4 masks
Not entirely convinced on its tera typing of choice yet. Just ran a few games with tera poison (because, I'll admit, I forgot to change it), but it feels alright. Grass will probably reign supreme, or water perhaps, but otherwise I might have just fallen in love with the Fezant. Lol.
Granted I feel people underestimate it a bit and leave it alone a lot.
Just a heads up but the in game audio in the showcase fight is like doubled? Too much mic gain?
Scarf U-turn might end up a teeny tiiiny little thing in singles just for pivot/toxic spread, but… hmm…
How about replacing Venoshock with Heat Wave for Steels, though having no Poison coverage can feel weird haha
forward facing fezindipity is the goofiest looking pokemon ever
edit: i know is spelled it wrong, im not fixing it
Ogerpon teal mask has an open item slot and its base speed threatens many scarf users when tera. This might actually have a niche in ubers. It can utilize an adamant nature while still outspeeding scarf users like kyogre, and it can hold items like a choice band or life orb for higher damage. The drawback I guess is that it is kinda predictable and takes up your tera. It gets u turn as well for pivoting and ivy cudgel is terrifyingly strong(maybe even in ubers but the new mons aren't even added to smogon) especially with that tera grass and item boost and that is without a crit. Not really relevant to vgc but I just wanted to point that out.
is it necessary for Fezandipiti to have a 0 attack iv for the supportive special attacking set? I want to try getting into vgc but idk if I want to go through the story again just to grind for a 0 attack one. It does resist Foul Play so maybe it's not as important for it to have 0 attack compared to pokemon that are weak to it like Flutter Mane and Munkidori, my Fezandipiti has a "Pretty good" attack stat according to the judge in game which seems good enough to not have to worry about getting another one.
I wouldn't bother
Is the move with the chance to poison the opponent pokemon addup the possibility of poison with toxic chain ability?
I will never use fezendipiti out of spite
Surprised not to see wochein with da bird. I'm using bulky bird
Fezandipiti got shafted. One of the greatest special move-sets ever and it gets stuck with 70 Sp. Atk...
Would neutralizing gas weeding not be a good counter for it?
what about technician acid spray? or toxic chain acid spray?
What set u running on heatran
I gotta know how stuoid Beat Up and Tail Slap are with Toxic Chain
Bro is built like articuno 💀
Would it be worth trying a physical set on Fezandipiti w/ Tail Slap + Loaded Dice to proc Toxic Chain?
I think it would probably be better to just use beat up and be able to use a healing(berry or leftovers/black sludge) item to extend longevity or choice scarf to more reliably lead into a partner's venoshock or hex.
Munkidori will win a tournament. I am calling it. Toxic chain fake out parting shot seems a little strong.
How do we go back to Paldea after getting to Teal Mask KITAKAMI?
Press L or R on the map
can we get munkidori next ?
I think they knew that it’s typing would make it a game breaking threat, so they screwed with its stat spread
I just think its funny that the Bird is weak to ground.
This one’s the toxic chain ceo
Steel types can’t be poisoned right?
I can do math! I'll help!
Poison jab on a technician set as you have just has the basic 30% chance to apply regular poison. But I think the confusion was what happens when you have poison jab on a toxic chain set.
If we're running poison jab and toxic chain, most likely, it checks poison jab first, then if that fails to poison, applies another 30% to check for bad poison. I'm about 99% sure on that.
30% regular poison+(70% not regular poison)*(30% badly poisoned)
Final results: 30% regular poison, 21% bad poison, 51% poison of some sort.
By contrast, a double hitting or spread move would have a 51% chance to apply bad poison. The spread move also has a 9% chance of applying bad poison to both opponents, making it the best option discussed so far.
Tail slap, a bit of nightmare math, but it came out to a 64.7% chance of applying bad poison, and an average of 78 base power.
Beat Up would be another option, but best run with speed control of some sort and a king's rock. Sadly, not as effective in doubles as singles, but it's still got a 76% chance of applying bad poison, and 34% chance of causing a flinch if all 4 Pokemon are alive. I don't know doubles too well, but I can see this being handy against Trick Room setters. This is likely the best way to get Farigaraff to Flinch and fail to set Trick Room. Plus, it's going to be super effective.
I'm a singles guy myself. And I think the Beat Up set has... potential to make people very angry. Although it's likely not reliable enough to be truly great.
With 6 Pokemon and King's Rock, you're looking at an 88% chance of applying bad poison, 47% chance to cause flinch. Due to Beat up's funky mechanics, this is probably a little under 90 base power. Each hit is 5+[Base attack of each Pokemon]/10. It's also a neat perk to have such a high toxic chance while not needing to worry about thing like taunt and magic bounce, while still being able to dish out some damage. It can also be handy to apply toxic against substitute calm mind sets.
A singles set built around this would likely be something like:
Chain Toxic, King's Rock, Beat Up, Roost, Protect, and likely icy wind for it's own speed control.
I also think it would be well suited for a Sticky Web team so it won't need to use Icy Wind as often.
Ultimately though, while fun (for the user only) I don't think this will be reliable enough to perform well. Rough Skin/Iron Bards are a nightmare, it gets hard walled by any steel or poison types, and by the time you manage to clear those out, you're likely down a few Pokemon, so Beat up will be less reliable.
Beat Up doesn't make contact, so barbs and helmet only affect you if you use tail slap instead. This team sounds very fun to troll your friends with, probably not great for doubles and definetely not legal on showdown since they banned king's rock, but I like it
@@risingtoastcheesecake4730 Huh. I assumed it made contact just based on common sense. But it looks like you're right.
The King's Rock ban is news to me. But you also seem right about that one.
The reasoning seems to be that it's uncompetitive since it's luck based, gets around counters, and unlike things like Serene Graces, the opponent can't prepare for it since it's an item rather than an ability and could be on anything.
I was going to disagree, then I remembered Maushold exists. Actually calculating the flinch rate there is really tedious since every hit has a chance of ending the chain. If they all hit, it's 1-.9^10, which is 65%. So the actual flinch rate is probably a little under 60% if I had to estimate. On a 200 base power stab move on a thing with 111 base speed and better dragon dance.
All right. I can see why that was banned. I think it's a shame though, as it's an item only worth considering on a few Pokemon (skill link and beat up users.) and those instances, while obnoxious, I find less obnoxious than things like Paraflinch Jirachi.
I also think jirachi is worse. Which is a shame because I really like it's Design. I'm pretty sure king's Rock got banned in gen 8 because people got tired of shell smash cloyster cheasing it's way to victory with it sometimes.
I only know about the beat up thing because I saw it on some weaviles. I assume gamefreak couldn't figure out how to make your Pokémon that aren't even out on the field get affected by contact effects, so they just made it none contact to save themselves the headache. Which is ultimately good because this move would really suck otherwise, imagine using beat up on zapdos and suddenly your whole Team is paralyzed XD
@@plentyofpaper It doesn't make contact because what's actually happening with the move Beat Up is that all of your Pokémon are jumping the opponent. Yes, in reality it should make contact to each separate Pokémon, but that's probably obnoxious to program.
@@Wizard_Lizard_ Yeah. That's the conclusion I came to. It's a pretty unique move.
It's such a cool looking pokemon. In my opinion it's the only cool looking one of the three.
It also gets Tailwind, so you could use that on support sets as well to get an advantage next turn or help your partner Pokemon beat faster threats like Urshifu
I think the reason Fezandipiti has bad stats is that they're trying to back off of the crazy powercreep, which I like.
Pls tell me that ma boi okidogi is the best one out of the three
Completely unrelated, but when I saw Scald was back, I was so excited that we had a returning, better Water Special move than Surf and Hydro Pump. But when I saw it's distribution, I was so disgusted. The best Pokemon that can use it are Walking Wake, which already has a good Water move, Sinistcha, which I could see some good things happening with that Pokemon, and Milotic. Other than those three, the list consists of pretty fringe Pokemon, such as Slowbro and Slowking, Vaporeon, Coalossal, Kalos Goodra, Pincurchin, and Inteleon, Mythical Pokemon and GYARADOS, because I guess Gyarados needed a viable special Water Move.
