  • In this video I demonstrate some tips for successfully routing cables and hydraulic disc brake hoses through a 2019 Trek Madone. I made a video a couple of years ago about cable routing on the first version of this style Madone. Since then, there have been a few changes to the platform including a disc brake option, 2 piece integrated bar/stem combo, reconfigured down tube cable stop and deletion of the head tube "wings" , to name a few.

Great Video. May I ask, how would want go about servicing the headset? Must the bike be de-hosed/cabled ?

I was just going to post the same question! do the brake hoses need to be disconnected to replace the upper and lower headset bearings? Great video and nicely explained.

AT around 2:00 do you know where the integrated steerer stop is located?

Hey, do you know if the SLR cockpit will fit my SL6? Would I need and adapters? Thanks

The SL6 actually has an adapter that allows the cables to pass through to the inside of the frame. The SLR bar/stem combo routes the cables inside, so I'm 99% sure it just bolts on and does away with the little top cap adapter you currently have.

can i use that type of cockpit on a damane ?

I don’t think it would be an easy swap. The Madone stem has the cables running down the sides and front of the steerer tube. The Domane cables enter the top tube of the frame behind the stem, so I’m not sure how that would work out.
