- This is a compilation of several weeks of artifact hunting a section of the Susquehanna river. I filmed this more than a year ago, but it was a very memorable series of hunts. These hunts produced an awesome variety of tools and artifacts as well as a variety of lithics. Thanks for stopping by to join me.

A magnificent gathering of pieces! Soooo much in that " cache" area!! Wow!!! Good work Ben!
👍🦊🧙♂️🐺🤙
Thank you so much for writing! I’m glad I could share these amazing finds with everyone! Hunting for these pieces is a lot easier in the rain because all the stones come alive when wet. Great to hear from you my friend!
Keep on exploring the area...there are some
special pieces...yet to be shared...you are the one to bring them to light..as it were!
. 🤙🧙♂️🐺👍
Great finds! I'm super jealous!
Thanks so much for writing! It took me a long time to know what to look for and where. Learning how to knap and produce utility tools like these, really helps you see them when you are crawling around looking. Have fun my friend! Ben
Enjoying seeing what you find down that way.
Thanks my friend! Hope to be out soon as the river levels drop.
Cool finds! Especially those bonus pieces. It sure is neat to be able to pick up a tool or blade that was last held by the person that made it long ago. A real connection to the past.
It really is a cool connection. I’m like a kid every time I find one. I’ve always enjoyed seeing your hunts and hearing you talk about some of the great artifacts you’ve collected over the years. I hope you find some time to get out and walk those fields, Paleoman ! Great to hear from you. Thanks so much for writing! Ben
nice
Thanks Josh ! Glad you could watch. Ben
Very nice! officially retired soon and looking forward to looking again
That sounds great! I’m really happy for you. I wish you a healthy and productive retirement filled with lots of arrowhead hunting! All the best.! Ben
Cool finds! Where are you from, maybe we'll run into one another one day. I'm in Luzerne County..good luck !
Thanks for writing and watching! We might just run into each other sometime. I’ll be the kid crawling along all fours on the bank line😃. All these pieces come out of Luzerne county I do believe. All the best!
Could have easily have been settlers working gun flints for several of those pieces.
Hi thanks for stopping and for writing. Ben
The gonna knap any of that grey flint?
With my tools, I could probably only break off pieces and make small shavers for arrow construction primarily. Small microlith type arrow head points could definitely be made in the same way but I don’t play with them much. I usually use stuff like this for making tools and cutters and little saws. Someday when I get good like you with the indirect work, maybe I can maximize the smaller pieces more. One of these days I’ll get some out to you. I bet you would be able to do a lot with these small rocks. take care, Jay and thanks a lot for writing.
Where are you at on the Susquehanna? Im from Lancaster County. I grew up looking for artfacts with friends from Washington Boro and Millersville.
Northeast Pennsylvania, my friend. The north branch of the Susquehanna River. You’re in a good location. I’ve seen a lot of artifacts pulled from your parts and I particularly am fond of the Jasper down there. Thanks for writing. Great to hear from you. Ben
