I went down a bad road in a town I didn't know, I knew I was screwed when I got to the end, couldn't turn around and there was just a small country road in front of me, I did the right thing, I called the local non emergency number at there police station, put my hazards on and waited for 6 cop cars, they blocked the road and I straight backed about 1/2 a mile, they waved me off and everbody had a great day and a good laugh, and I kept my job.

I drove flatbeds for years and trying to maneuver a 48 or 53 trailer with a spread axle is a challenge but this was just plain stupid. I drive a 35 ton wrecker now and I often get the pleasure of getting one of these inexperienced wheel holders out of a bind because many of them are clueless.
We joke in the towing and recovery business that GPS stands for Getting People Stuck and Getting People Screwed. These new drivers would blindly drive off of a washed out bridge and into the river following GPS around. If we were sent to pull them out, the first thing out of their mouths would be, "my GPS said..."

Drove trucks and charter buses for 40 years. The driver quality standard has been reduced because companies don't want to pay the driver's what they should. Now if you get a CDL your trucking regardless of your skill set. Automatic transmissions are now on tractors to cater to morons who can't shift standard multi speed transmissions. They have to have front and side radar because they don't know how to use there mirrors. They have to have lane departure warning devices cause they don't know how to stay in their lane. I have seen drivers who will take 40 minutes to back to a loading dock because they don't know how to back up a trailer. This video is a prime example of that.
