    The Classic RB turbos were my first set of upgraded turbos which I bought 9 yrs ago. There were issues with some of these but mine lasted 27,000kms without any before I upgraded to the EVOs. Managed a 11.28s run before removal after which I found plenty of side play in the shaft requiring them to be rebuilt. The main issue with China turbos is the quality especially in the balance of the rotating mass.

    Gents, because of your channel and the quality of the content, we recently purchased a set of of VIV 19T's. So far so good, we're still adding miles and breaking them in. Wow, there is a MAJOR difference between these and stock. We are also running an e50 blend on MHD and will be doing a full custom tune very soon. We also have an XHP transmission tune (this is a must) to keep up with the new 19T turbo's. Thank you for sharing all the info you do, it has helped us make some important decisions for our 2007 335i.

    Great video, thanks! More blades on the turbine wheel makes it more efficient, but does not mean it will spool faster. More blades also mean higher inertia, so it could be possible a turbine wheel with less blades spools up faster. Less blades does indeed result in more flow. Curious to see how much power can be made with the 19T's......

    I have the VIV 19t's on my 07 e90 335i. They were leaking at the compressor housing o-ring after only a couple thousand miles. I got the Turbo Labs kit and went through them upgrading all the parts included. The kit has a new o-ring that sealed up the leak and the bearings included were quite a bit more robust with larger contact surface area. There's also an additional oil port with the Turbo Lab's kit. I don't forsee having any problems with them for the foreseeable future. I've got a port injection controller I need to install, along with a Vargas cast valve cover and external pcv setup/catch cans. Then it'll be tuning and to the dyno. 600whp shouldn't be a problem...

      Yup, what he said. Vargas and DAW are just China Turbos with better quality control and looked over. Actually that applies to most other products in life from shoes to electronics, etc. Its not the China uses inferior quality, its the fact they don't thoroughly check the specifications. So for a DAW maybe 1 in every 20 Turbos will fail, but with one purchased right from China maybe 1 out of every 8 turbos will fail becuase they weren't checked properly.

    • @ZeroTo60Tube
      @ZeroTo60Tube  Před 3 lety +1

      That’s the theory with the 11 blades. I think the China N54 11 blades had so many failures due to improper balancing tolerances. The slightly heavier 11 blade wheel ended being just out of tolerance. The N54 twins have some of the highest rpms turbos on any petrol engine and I guess that’s when lazy balancing will come in to play and I have no doubt the China ones are not being balanced to 220,000rpm.

    • @robingroeneveld4169
      @robingroeneveld4169 Před 3 lety

      Biggest problem is the thrust bearing. At higher boost levels, the surface area of the thrust bearing is too small to support the load. That is exactly the issue the guys at turbolab address. A good balancing job never hurts though ;-)

    • @turbotrana
      @turbotrana Před 3 lety

      In regards to balancing, with the turbo barra's, the ball bearing turbos spin for around 30 seconds after shut down. With the original cast 6+6 compressor wheel it was a really rough and a rattly spin down. I then changed to the Billet 11 blade compressor wheel with no balance, no nothing except a direct swap. The spin down went quiet and smooth as. I think it says alot about billet vs cast compressor wheels. I got the billet wheel direct from KTS turbo billet in Malaysia and do recommend it as an upgrade for those that like to tinker.PS you do need a proper torque wrench and puller to do this swap properly.

    Have you guys taken the 19Ts v3 apart to verify if they actually upgraded the seal, spacer and collar. There’s a new video on YT that shows the 19Ts V2 we’re no different than the V1. This leaves me to question if they actually made any changes to the V3 or if they just threw the “v3” to attract buyers

    I don't think a stock HPFP will be able to keep up with those CFMs from those turbos, even with meth, maybe at E30, not E50+. Will need Spool Helix or PI, otherwise HPFP will crash to 1,000 psi and the DME will pull timing to save AFRs. Will be fun!

      With meth you don't actually need any e85 at all. I personally run (so do several of my clients) a stage 2 lpfp, 93 fuel, and dual nozzle cp injection, 750 whp no problem (on an auto car) at 28 psi. With that said, 28psi is all she wrote with 750cc meth, i was able to run 31 with 1200cc but it gets rediculously insatiable for meth, so might as well get pi at that point. But for the power level available from the 19Ts,his fuel system has it covered. PI would be needed if he's actually wanting to run e85 anyway, to which i would say why not! The more high octane we have in there the better.
