    i noticed i had a lot better results focusing more on my speech patterns than my pitch...so ive been mostly doing this already and its worked for me rly well :)
    the past year i think..
    i think the trouble a lot of trans women (like myself) has is having to switch back and forth between a masc voice to a feminine voice because of being closeted ..
    but even then its so not impossible and these tips absolutely do work ..
    thank u for simplifying too.. !! a lot of videos i use to watch had a lot of confusing jargon

    Doing singing exercises for resonant bridging helps a lot, as the feminine part of one's natural range is mostly unused, but it can be practiced. I found out how to center my voice without stressing it. Say the affirming "mmhmm" and the intently listening "uh-huh", both with a higher second syllable. When doing that my voice is parked in the perfect spot and I can talk how I want to.

    • @boonewilliams5338
      @boonewilliams5338  Před 2 lety +2

      Those are wonderful strategies. I have definitely been wanting to take singing lessons recently. I felt confident in my singing voice pre-puberty, and now I feel like I have no range in that area. I just love singing, and I think getting more comfortable at it would just give me an overall better command of my voice

    • @thrivinginamber2642
      @thrivinginamber2642 Před 2 lety +2

      Bridging the high and low resonances does help a lot, and I never considered myself a singer at all. The exercise was the one from voice lesson that said "want a smooth voice? do this" Also try the clip from legends of tomorrow where zari and constantine sing in episode 6x03.

    Gosh I'm struggling with this personally. I have hope that I'll be able to get it one day. I developed a pretty deep bassy voice because it took me 23 years to realise I was trans. Anyway, thank you for this. What you said about moving the resonance of my voice to my nose totally helped! Also, I'm an aspiring voice actor as well. Wish you the best!

    I listen to this video, then only a few seconds of your old video because your present voice sounds so wonderful. The difference gives me hope. I'm so lazy but I have to take an organized approach.
    I probably will need a vocal coach because when I try some of the techniques I hear what they do but once for one sentence did I render my female sounding voice. I need so much practice to feel and control my voice. It's hard to do it alone.

    • @boonewilliams5338
      @boonewilliams5338  Před 4 lety +5

      It's honestly a very very challenging process, and you should feel seriously proud of yourself for the progress you make. I know people who have gotten vocal coaching, and I've heard wonderful things about their experiences. Please hold onto your hope and keep going. It's a long, experimental, and usually nonlinear process, but I KNOW that you can get to where you are comfortable. Keep at it💛
