Imperial Base MOC

- The Imperial Base is complete. I used the island section from The Pirates of Barracuda Bay to give me a head start. I also had to break into a sealed set to properly man the base, but the end result looks very good and it should be able to hold its own against invading pirates.

Great use of the island so many of us have because we prefer to build the ship
Having slightly yellowed pieces are good for showing age of structures since it can add of bit of reality. I have a railroad double door box wagon which had some slightly yellowed white pieces which I kept in showing some old look to the rail wagon.
My thought on the yellowed pieces: kinda makes it look like it's been in the sun. ...As if it was on a tropical island or something. :P
I've made use of yellowed pieces deliberately, in a MOC I did of a Mad Max style truck. Discoloured whites and greys mixed with tans, browns, and whatever that orangey colour is from the Detective's Office make it look old and worn and rusty.

Like the moc. That's a good addition to your pirate scene. Love those chess set figures. You gave them a nice place to hang out. You can tell you love a moc when you throw in a hidden treasure chest that no one can even see. Thumbs up! Frutz wuz here.

Great MOC! Using the leftover island was genius. For the name, Xanderfort or Fort Xander might be some options you could consider.
You can build a custom steampunk - Jules Verne boat for your collection.
That video just hurt. You really opened that set 40158 just to get some Imperial soldiers?! Ouch! But there is that cool base on the other hand. Wow, you did a really great job with that, it looks fantastic. I bought Barracuda Bay as well and decided to build the pirate ship. So I also decided to use that island and build something on it. I would like to build a pirate island, but I still don`t have a good idea. I do know those old sets 6270 and 6273, but to my opinion they were not half as cool as those old Imperial bases (e.g. Eldorado Fortress). So if you should ever find the time to build a cool pirate island, I would love to see it. Greetings from Berlin Frank PS: concerning that discoloration of white bricks : hydrogen peroxide and sunlight will remove all the yellow color.
My idea number 2 would be to turn the queen annes revenge into an imperial ship it really looks like it in my opinion

Definitely try to get a used eldorado fortress to compare this MOC to. Maybe try and piece together the imperial trading post
I think you should change the doors as they look too modern imo,ones with the windows will do. You could also make a floor in the middle for soldiers to drink,eat and relax.
Wow nice Imperial Fort! On the Imperial Flagship and the Price. Maybe you build a Self created Ship MOC. The prefab Hullpieces, thanks to the Barracuda Set you can Buy for reasonable Price on the Bricks and Pieces Part of the Lego Website. I also highly recommend the Studio 2.0 Software you can Download on Bricklink. Don't know If you are Into digital Building. I think ITS really good for making a Plan for a MOC. I have a couple of ideas of Lego ships you could add to your collection. The Caribbean clipper from 1989 and the imperial flagship from 1992. By the way I got inspired to buy the chess set from Legos to use in 3 pirate set Legos from 2021 in the same way you used it here. Thank you very much! I also decided to do something similar with my own set of pirates of barracuda bay island like you did but I won't put it on video without your consent.

Beautiful... but the blue piece is a little off place
I agree that the blue roof looks wierd, it looks like the spanish soldiers took a roof of a forestan house and used it because they had low budget.
It's pretty good fortress, but I have few suggestions to improve it:
1. Change doors to older looking ones with window in the middle (current ones are too modern looking).
2. Add some dark red bricks to give it more 2009 and 2015 imperial fort feel (2009 has stickers, but close enough).
3. Add some depth/decoration into blue roof (few 1x1s and 1x2s for example), it looks too smooth and brand new to be part of fort that has seen many battles.
4. Add second flag that's bigger than the current one.

Hey I just subscribed recently and love your city. Just wondering did u every get the hats for the imperial guards? Not that you were planning to, or you already had some.
I'd LOVE instructions or an LDD file for this. I've been sorely tempted to buy a second BB to build the ship alone, but was hesitant because of the leftover island parts. This would solve the problem, but I've no idea what other parts I'd need to source.

Hello please im trying to reproduce it with same sets, can i ask you if have you made instructions? or can i ask you to send me a slow motion video showing the best as you can ? I thinked that i have the same set miss, but don't want to sell it, but i know i'll not do nothing with the chess set, and this is insanely the best thing i found to use the chess set and the extra parts from the barracuda bay ship .....Please! :)
