@@Richard-sh1sb isn't nvidia surround nothing more than stretching out a large resolution over 3 screens? So you have more fov distortion in the corners, as opposed to proper triple screen support where some games give you the option to use distortion correction per screen?
@@Richard-sh1sb this is not triple support, nvidia surround is just like one screen, it has no adjustments for angle or fov settings

Cool video, trippy. I honestly though everyone turned off all the hud and pace note graphics.. makes for much more immersive gameplay imo. Thought it was funny you called it “hardcore” as I actually find it easier. Less stuff to distract you, especially the pace notes in the middle of the screen
It's so trippy, it actually gives the impression of being in the car even when watching it through a screen.
(Btw are you planning on doing a review of the Fanatec Sparco Monte Carlo Rally wheel if you can get your hands on one?)

I recently moved from an ancient G27 on a desk, to a GT DD Pro and Rig, I've not seen too much difference playing GT7 and F1 22 but the difference in Dirt Rally 2.0 is ridiculous, rally and FF and a rig are perfect partners!!
Glad I saved some money and went for the CSL DD 8nm wheelbase rather than the PS compatible DD pro.

I've been playing some rally games for a while to take a brake from circuit racing, and that was fun as hell. Now i'm training to play the games using an H patern shifter because i got one recently, and i've been playing with paddle shifter and using the clutch pedal for handbrake, lol.
Then rally is perfect! Many use Manual, sadly it’s a dying art!

Hey Will, now I'm not implying that you do - but are you using any sort of visual enhancements? (eg: reshade). As your version of EA WRC seems to look so much higher quality than most of the CZcams video's I have seen on it previously?

Mate, Noakes Hill in Oceania is an absolute gem. Do it in the Group A cars. Madfun.

This week discovered beautiful and very fun stages in Central Europe event.
Croatia the real wrc event thru the towns is awesome.
They're all so bloody good. Japan is nice just to drive through slower paced in the spring haha beautiful scenery.
I'm so afraid during the stages where it's narrow road, jagged stone wall one side and open cliff insta death on the other haha

Can you post your graphics settings and your pc rig? I trust you are playing on PC? So many people like myself have performance issues, and we would love it if you shared your specs and ingame settings. Great video.
The performance issues are terrible. The screen stutter and scenery pop up is terrible.

It’s just trial and error depending on your setup. The side screens are still distorted but it doesn’t look too bad on camera with a narrower FOV.
@@boostedmedia Have you tried the panini renderer stuff ? Not perfect, but maybe some math-magician will get it set up right.

this stage is one of the hardest coming from gravel to tarmac really feels weird and i use to spin out a lot very strange
Will, where are the monitor centers in relation with your eyes? I just ordered triple 42 OLEDS and would love to get them on top of the wheelbase, but this puts them about 4" above center of eyes, which may present a problem in some games. I'm struggling with height vs distance (behind wheelbase and lowered about 3", which drops FOV from 180 to 160).

I don’t know wh the guys on steam says this game is ugly, for me is very clean sure it’s not optimized but not ugly
There are so many amazing stages but if you want ease in and have a blast just get the old RWD Fiat with full manual/clutch and rip up Monte Carlo. You’ll never get bored and it’s work out.

Does this game support vr and Simhub yet? Love dirt 2, but so used to having shakers I don't like using it without them now.

Feels like an improvement to me.
Definitely an improvement on all surfaces, less punishing but still difficult. The stages are worth every penny, it’s not perfect but they are patching it aggressively.

How do the triples look on WRC? I know there’s been some bad press about the lack of support.
No proper support for perspective corrected triple screens. The side screens are warped. Very disappointing

I don't know if it just on camera, due to lens distortion, but the proportion of the steering wheel comparing to the car's dash is very off. It takes half the size of the dash.
I got pumped from jimmys hype. in reality the game needs work. how is it we have gone significantly backwards from DR2 that is several years old?
how are you seeing so much of the lower portion of the car interior on your monitors? it looks uniform across the 3 screens so i assume you're doing more than just tilting the camera down?

The fact that this game/sim doesn't have a normal triple screen support in 2023 is just insane...

It's focused more on console players, it seems. Dirt Rally was more of a passion project that existed next to commercial dirt series. With the WRC license they need to take in the big bucks, unfortunately. I don't have a triple myself, but it sucks for those that have. Seems there is not a lot that is improved upon DR2.0, except the longer stages.
Sadly there isn't a big selection of rally sims, that would support triples well. I know RBR Pro has recently incorporated triple screen distortion correction, but I'm yet to try it.
@@lukaszentalis9989 there isn't a large selection of rally sims, period. I also fear for codemasters now that they are part of EA, so I wouldn't mind a new player stepping in with a rally sim. 🙏🏽
How much room do you need width wise for the triple screens of that size?

You absolutely don’t need to spend anywhere near this kind of money to get an awesome experience. :)
I recommend looking into 32" monitors.
Much cheaper than big TVs like you see here, but large enough to where 3 of them will cover around horizontal 200° fov for a 6' male. Which is huge for immersion.
My triple 32" monitors+mount cost under 1000€.

I don’t think that would be a very good indicator as the FFB isn’t particularly advanced in any current rally game. All the current bases feel very similar at any given strength because of this so it wouldn’t provide much actual value.

Yep. Less since the 1.3 update but it was unplayable for me at release. That’s why we didn’t do a review.

Same as Dirt2.0 - triple screen implementation and looks are so poor. Steering wheel still looks like it's as big as a half of cabin ) And I understand that you've spent so much effort into it, to look as good and real as possible.
Only now, after purchasing the game influenced by the incredible realistic hand movements, I understanding why the game is so different when I play on my PC. I really regret buying this game.
