This is the biggest project I have taken on, The bike will be completely stripped down to the frame, the engine will be removed for new piston rings to be installed, the wiring harness is going to be rewired and the entire bike overhauled, ready for spring 2020....I hope.

Gracias por el tiempo que has dedicado a hacer estos vídeos intruccionales, gracias a ellos he podido trabajar mi motocicleta.. Saludos desde Puerto Rico
Thanks for your videos! I've been customizing a 1996 1400 for about 3 years and about 2 months ago I bought a 2004 for a parts bike (dirt cheap :-)). It only had 16000km on it and the engine was black so I decided to pull my motor and swap it with the 04 engine. your videos were a BIG help and made it as easy as possible! Cheers.
Hi from Russia! You are doing great job and your videos are the most detailed and informative on the subject on CZcams. They are really helpful for me now, so I’ll looking forward to your new videos!! Wish you good luck and patience 👍👍
Thank you so much! really appreciate your kind words. I hope that I continue to make videos that you enjoy :) Na Zdorovie
Really makes you appretiate the engineering that goes into such a fine machine. I remember when these bikes came out, the big selling point was keeping the bike clean and streamlined by hiding most of the modern working electronics and various parts that normally stick out. A team of U.S. engineering advisers worked with Japanese engineers to make it clean and uncluttered. That is one big motor. I have an 87 700 that's motor looks tiny compared to it. Great video! Really enjoyed it. Thinking of repainting my bike so i would have to do this too. One step at a time, right!
I’m so happy that I found your channel, because I bought myself a ‘92 Intruder 1400 project bike. 👍🏻
That is awesome! Ride safe out there!
How far have you got on your bike?
@@adseish ,at first the bike didn’t run, so I cleaned the carburetors with a ultrasonic cleaner, an now it’s running smoothly😅🤗
@@phdzzz great work! I just got one recently at about 9K miles In great condition. I must say the intruder is a very comfortable cruiser.
Subbed as well- Andres from the group!!!! Won't be pulling any engines out anytime soon, but love that you are doing this for all of us!!!! Cheers!
Hi Andre's thanks for subscribing! No problem at all, we are all learning a thing or two aren't we :)

Thank you for the knowledge bro
No problem 👍
If you live in the Bay Area and want some experience and money to help me repair my 1994 susuki intruder 1400 in my yard (which hasn't moved in ten years), reply to me. I'm desperate to have someone mentor me. This guy has been a godsend, though.
When you say Bay area, are you talking about Torbay?
@ Haha, no, I'm in California -- the San Francisco bay area in the USA. How stupid of me to assume people would know.
Can't wait for the rebuild.
It is on it's way soon, my garage is currently out of action, but I'll be back at it asap. The SUN shone here in the UK for the first time since October, and all i wanted to do was get out on the bike! hahaha
@ I hear you, I live in Flandres and the weather hasn't been that good either. We have to settle for a few moments of sun and take advantage of it. What bike do you ride in the meantime.
I dont currently have a second bike! That's why I am getting so twitchy! Hahaha
@ hahaha!!
First! Subbed!
Just so you know, this is supporting Erik 😉
THANKS ERIC! hahaha
Man, i subbed before i even watched, im planing to buy intruder 1400 for next season, paint it, rebuild it etc, baically make simple combination of bobber/custom. I know the basics butn any tip is welcome, thanks.
Hi there @salo.82 here from IG 👋
Awesome work there bro, i have wondered how to separate the engine from the frame and now i know, thank u for that..
Keep up the good work, fantastic chanell ✌
Hey brother, thanks for checking out the videos! That's awesome news really glad I was able to help you out in some way. Are you planning on removing yours soon? Or something for the winter project?
@ maby next winter, have a lot of work ahead but nr.1 is to remove all the wiring and put som simple "chopper" wiring if its possible.. You done with your wiring yet ? I can text you on IG, a bit easier 👍
@@TheHoodo no not yet there is a lot to think about with the wiring that's for sure. I definitely like the idea of a junction box! Going to look into that
Yeah sure if you want to talk in IG :)
Quick question - where does the clutch cable (not the hydraulic line) feed into on the transmission - wasn’t on any of your tear down videos that I could see
12:33 i recently discover that my bike just have 1 of that 2 bolts on each side of the frame (is missing the top one). Now, i'm confuse if that both bracket are meant to fix the engine to the frame or in other way is just using the engine as strucutre to fix the brackets...!!! Can you informe that if the missing of one of that two bolt on each side cam be a problem to the engine fixing to the frame? or if it's irrelevant? Thank you in advance fr any help on this 👍✌
Wow!
Thanks :D
Could you do a video on converting it to pod filters I'm trying to do something like that so I can make a boober
Pod filters are ready to go, once the engine is back together it will be covered :)
@good to hear I hear you got the bike together hoping to see the video soon would really help me out
@@jacobmorse44 pods are in video coming soon!
It would look good redes orange
I have a 86 Suzuki 700 Intruder and I'm pretty much doing the same thing too lit right now
Question. Does a 2000 Suzuki VL 1500 engine fit a 1999 1500 VL bike.
Hi Saif, I am afraid I don't know, I own and work on a 1400vs Intruder not a 1500vl. But if I had to guess, I would imagine a 2000 VL would fit into the 1999 frame but I would recommend you check online. There are lots of VL1500 forums to check out :)
Hagar Moto - Intruder Viking thank you. Will do.
Should have laid it on the side where you took a part of frame off!!!!!
Why so? I can't work on the ground brother, Slipped disk in my back. That technique is great for bike frames that don't have a removable frame arm though. :)
How useful, clear and concise was the motorcycle manual? I'm a backyard mechanic and sometimes my car manuals leave me hanging, telling me to "have the dealership" do it. Like wtf?!?.. I wanna do it, cuz I'm broke ass-wipe.
Both the clymer manual and the original suzuki workshop manual are very good. They were my bible throughout the rebuild!
@ thanks for the reply bro! Coming outta washington state
