I remember downloading this game after discovering it in a splatterhouse retrospective.
It's so underrated, sadly never came to the west due to the SNES being already out...
For some reason, Dracula's dance reminds me of Thriller.
That is the reference the game is making, yes. The fight even opens with a knockoff of the opening from Thriller.
Theme of his appearence is part of MJ's thriller.
There are two endings here where you live happily ever after and that tragic one.
Irony the intro to the Spalterhouse for the PS3 is where they go into a mansion as well.
Makes you wonder if this game from the NES is canon with the PS3 one.
There are a complete Splatterhouse saga, you know. The first one for arcade and 2 and 3 for sega genesis. This NES game was a free adaptation of the arcade version
