I hope Namco will once again take us back to the west mansion in a future game at some point giving splatter house a proper new-introduction to modern survival horror / hack and slash fans.
The 2010 version was like that but it fell into the trap of being a run of the mill edgy game and came across as a wannabe doom/resident evil style. The 80s/90s horror movie style is what made this game so unique, if they ever do a reboot they should keep it like the Sam Rami or Romero films.

A couple of big reviewers said different things one criticized the camera, load times, glitches and cheap deaths, but praised the story and the inspired artistic touches. Thd Escapist said "The recycled brawling mechanics and frustrating platforming don't do anything to support the cliché story and no amount of blood, profanity or nudity can save Splatterhouse from mediocrity."[ I don't remember any damn glitches, bad camera, cheap deaths, nor frustrating platforming This game had the most unique kills in a video game, and there was nothing frustrating in it, unless of course they just sucked ass at it. It's almost like big review sites gave it a poor score on purpose...

Men this game is a real jewel of the arcades, the remake of the 2010 have do a great job reviving and adapting the game to the age, but its a shame that the remake dont put some of the boss fights of the fisrt game, i really *REALLY* was hoping fight against a demon jenniffer or the inverted cross, i mean, look what they have done with the poltergeist boss, that thing was amazing, imagine what would happen if they put that effort on remaking those boss fights

Interesting the mask looked like a hockey mask here, while in the other games it was changed to a skull mask. I wish they left it as a hockey mask. I get that it's supposed to be a demonic mask and all, but I think it added more to the mystique when it looked like an ordinary mask.
