TT is a for profit company and like thousands of others internationally, funding and association include a myriad of political, private and govt entity donations, influence, advertising, and direct and open monetary support by way of subscription (Ex: X). I do not support the CCP which is at the heart of this issue, but there are two additional problems with the proposed ban which are also important. a) it is PARENTS responsibility to monitor and control their child's internet usage, NOT the government, b) eliminating one internet platform will open the opportunity for government to eliminate additional privately owned platforms. The Republic does not need or want the teat of government to monitor, control, or restrict our private lives and internet usage is a PRIVATE individual act. The USA DOES TRILLONS OF BUSINESS WITH CHINA, 99% of which is monitored, often controlled, and taxed by the CCP. Will our nation agree to ban all business with China because its government is the CCP? This entire proposal is ludicrous.
