I love playing with the volume buttons, turning it up because I cant hear the show and turning it back down because Im legitimately being screamed at
This.
and he just screams what the clip says anyhow...
I don't understand why he needs to talk at all, are there actually people that need to have something explained to them like that right before they just watch it?
@@WadeWilsonDP It's to pass his "content" off as transformative so the original, stolen video content doesn't get claimed. To satisfy fair use standards, etc. Hopefully they Google "volume normalisation" - plenty of free applications.
im almsot40 never had a single human in the usa scream at me .. who\/why are u beng screamed at
balance your volume levels please....
yup! its really annoying!
🤓
Lol 😂
Glad someone else said it
😂
Thank goodness you're explaining each scene before you show us, otherwise, I'd be totally lost.
Look at you with the short term memory.
@@limpydan5850 its not Short term memory. its sarcasm. maybe touch grass - you might be able to tell the difference then. or read a book instead of twitter.. that'd prolly help too.
@limpydan5850 you're not very bright are you?
@@limpydan5850 I believe he did something called 'sarcasm'
@@martinbras11 Huh, and here I thought that was what I was doing.
thank you for explaining the scene with redundant information while simultaneously rupturing my ear drums. well done!
watch it without headphones like a normal person and that wont happen. like who watches pawn stars with headphones? LMAO
Ye, because then it'll only wake up your neighbours and blow up your speakers instead of your eardrums.
There's this amazing setting referred to as the 'volume', you should try it some time.
Also he's creating unique content under fair use regulations - you should learn about that some time, too. (and if you have a problem with that part, just watch the original content source and get off of CZcams)
you really sound like the life of the party!@@UpYourArsenal
@@johnnyvergara3438 If that's your standard, we just identified your problem.
It makes me laugh every time one of the guys (especially Chum) spouts out the history of an item because you know right before they filmed some nerd told him exactly what to say.
If this is what you do with your time then you have to much on your hands!!! I don't like this or any other so called reality shows!!! Dumb!!!!
Yes, it is scripted. They have admitted that.
@@williamslater-vf5ym obviously
I mean, I reckon about 95% of the stuff I know, some nerd told me.
Isn't that pretty much the societal role us nerds serve? @@Baboonez
I absolutely love when the Pawn Stars stand in triangle formation and recite something's wikipedia page with concentrated, earnest faces on like they're actually having a conversation.
It's for the viewers. Exposition isnt for the other characters in the show
For years I’ve struggled with trying to explain this and haven’t seen anyone else try. You have mastered the definition of the cringe we are witnessing. I commend you. 😂
I am surprised Rick and Chum seem to know the history of every item that is brought to their shop. I am inclined to think everything is scripted
That's because it is.
They only film what they can prepare for on a separate lot, it’s not even in that store 😅 they’re scammers
@@hatboxghost735it is in the actual store but they specifically clear it out for the episodes. And they do still work there but very rarely. And it’s mostly when they film an episode.
Obviously it’s scripted man 😂😂
Scammers might be the wrong word. It’s Discovery Channel. Of course it’s scripted. It’s emulating a Pawn Shop while educating the viewer about history, which is why a lot of the items have historical significance. They’re guilty of misleading the viewer for sure, but I don’t think it’s meant to be taken that seriously.
While I'm a little addicted to pawn Stars andI appreciate the upload the voice-over needs to be near the same volume as the content.
I swear my ears rupture everytime there is voiceover
Where did the turtle come from
You saved me from posting the same exact thing.
If that were a real painting, he would have carried that in a glass case and been escorted by armed security. who would bring a painting worth millions of dollars into a pawn shop with their bare hands touching it?
The guy who painted it and tried to pass it off as a Monet 😂
It's not a real pawn shop. It's a set.
@@Adam_Outdoors It's a real pawn shop, that also functions as a set.
@@jonathangrafton4016 Did you know they've also taken the word gullible out of the dictionary?
@@Adam_Outdoors I would have no word to describe myself if that was the case.
when the expert calls an expert it just got real
experts? you mean actors?
@@hamsterdmg theyre experts you clown. you can literally go to their shops. not everyone on tv is an actor
the experts are professionals who trade their time and expertise for screentime on the show for advertising. Many "sellers" that come in all the time are just collectors and experts who get to show off their collection of stuff. They aren't really selling it but are just there for history and information purposes, bringing in their rare items to be showcased in the episode. I assume some of them also get a show fee for being on the show. Maybe not in the earlier seasons but the later seasons when the show was huge i'm sure they were paid to be on it.@@hamsterdmg
@@hamsterdmg some of these experts are internationally famous for their expertise. I agree it's scripted, but the experts aren't actors.
You know things just got serious when Ricks expert calls in an expert
I mean if it was a item worth millions of dollars its important to get a second opinion lol
The Old Man was such a genuine hustler. He knew the price of everything all the time everywhere. He was a real Man in the Pawn business.
You don’t to narrate to us what the characters are going to say.
I love how every time they get an item they recite the exact Wikipedia articles on that subject citing exact days and years and time frames but still need "experts"
they call experts to look into the finer details and actually determine if it is real or not, they may have knowledge about things but most of the time they dont want to take the risk of it being a scam
1:35 I would have had trouble not laughing in that guy's face when he said it was a Monet. Doesn't even really resemble his work at all. LOL
I love how the volume of the video is low but the narrator is screaming at me on a bullhorn
The sword one is the best one. “Five points… will be awarded to each of you. For sheer, dumb luck.” - Professor McGonagall
It’s so funny how the last one is technically a scam, but it’s more off a scam for that one guy to sell them for so little 😂
Chum ruled them all that day... i bet they stopped giving him 💩 after that one...
the scam is the show bro. nothing about this show is real
I wonder how much of it is like Storage Wars. On Storage Wars they would often get collectors to stage their collections or rare items in lockers so that the show had interesting items to show off.
Old man was willing to spend 450 dollars to yell at his own son. Nice.
I enjoyed watching but try and keep your commentary at the same audio level as in the video. And thanks
Hear, hear!
YES!
Came here to say this, except I gave up in the first couple of minutes as a result!
Prison keys, shackles, chains, strong boxes, pirate chests, ancient coins, etc are all handmade in India as replicas.
What I liked about the video:
- Title matched up with the contents
What I disliked about the video:
- Commentator giving a summary of scene that's going to follow (I mean, I'm going to watch it myself anyway. You're basically just spoiling it.)
- Commentator's voice being louder than the audio of the footage (wouldn't have been a problem if there wasn't a commentator. This issue makes it impossible to find a reasonable volume to listen at because suddenly a louder voice will pop up when one piece of footage ends)
It's good to know exactly what happens before it happens so as to strip all of a clip's suspense. Thumbs up.
2.1 million dollars, but I'll just hold it with one hand.
That tortoise shell guitar is one of those cases where you "sell the box" and quietly include the guitar as a bonus. Comedian Jeff Dunham allegedly acquired a set of Jarts that way.
I'd like to see that episode where they pay like $100K for some loose diamonds that later turned out to be cut glass. I've never been able to find it online, though.
When an insurance company pays out they normally get title to the stolen object as part of the deal
like the videos my man but please lower your commentary volume
Any supposed valuable painting that's not in any sort of protective casing is a red flag right from the start.. oxidizing the value away as we speak 😂
Damn, imagine your friend scamming you right before he passes away. He is legally and morally allowed to spit on that grave now
It was his fault for accepting that painting as collateral. He should have at least confirmed the value of it before accepting it.
that story was probably made up,bullshit..that painting and insurance certification form, would be covered.. He would have sold it to the smithsonian museum
A 53 registration is not necessarily a proof of counterfeit. Shelby bikes ran until 53 (and sold to other companies) and Donald bikes as far as i know were produced as late as early 51 (i could be wrong). A late on the lot model could've beem slapped with a 53 registration technically.
Yeah it's a weird thing to counterfeit.
Even when Chum makes bad decisions he’s just so funny you can’t be angry.
Especially when it turns out he made a good deal and they just don't want to admit it 😂.
@@nikkimiddlekillsday5161that was my favorite part of this. I was rooting for him. Chum is my favorite character in the anime.
Nope. His level of bumbling dumbassery is infuriating. I don’t get angry at Chum; I STAY angry at Chum. Saves me the trouble of ruining a good mood.
NOTHING in this show was ever real.
I haven't watched this show in years, but is Chumlee that much different now?? Good for him!
its what a coke addiction will do to ya. think he got clean now tho
@@HexiiSkyas of recently he is a in a much more healthy weight and such.
@@HexiiSky so he did a bunch of coke and got healthy? thats a cool dude
@@brendanmclaughlin607 is that true? way less cool
I read somewhere that it was meth that he was addicted to, that's how he lost the weight. He's not healthier he's just skinnier
Chum Lee really did get in great shape. Good on him.
Considering the show is scripted the video is still entertaining
Regarding the shekel, if the insurance company paid for its theft, wouldn't the insurance company be entitled to the coin if it's recovered?
There may be a law or practice protecting the lawful "good" intention buyer as well... So the one who sold/stole it is responsible to the Insurance company/owner. But this is the US, who knows... That's partially how it would be in Europe, the third party is also protected to an extent depending on the situation and their intentions.
I dont know know why a stolen item should have been returned to the pawn shop
I thought that, 🤔
Feedback - your commentary volume is twice the volume of the Pawn Star clips. Keep having to adjust the volume, thanks.
I love the part where you summarized everything that was said before they say it, making it pointless to watch the actual clip because you've removed all suspension.
like the concept of the video but having to lower and raise the volume since your talking is far louder than the videos if you match that better i would've stayed longer
A scam is something that happens when one person is deliberately trying to cheat another person. I don't think any of these sellers were trying to cheat anyone.
the painting most likely was the closest one
The deal on the swords was a bit sketchy, the only time I ever try to sell valuable antiques is when I'm late for a BBQ?
I liked the inclusion of that last part even though it wasn't really a scam nor illegal. I guess technically one was a forgery, but still an authentic antique of value in itself, so not really.
The show sometimes pretends to buy items that the pawnshop already owns. So they probably already owned those swords which is why the "purchase" was done off cameras. Then they bring in their expert to showcase the swords as a form of advertising.
You guys are amazing! 🤩 Thanks for sharing!
Chumlee turned into a valley girl so gradually I never even noticed
😂
Cool video but the voice over is WAY too loud compared to everything else.
So Bob Yuhas restored the Bike but only told Rick after he did the work that it was a Clone. I feel like he rips the guys off all the time
The guys constantly rip people off.
@@ajoneal23 I know they do but it's kinda their job. Bob be charging like crazy for basic stuff
I was looking for this comment lol Ya that guy is a POS
Having sold impressionist paintings, it is ludicrous that anyone that had any expertise in paintings would for one second think that painting was a Monet.
I don’t know, several famous paintings have appeared in random places before. Paintings aren’t usually considered valuable during the decades that they’re painted, so when the artist dies, the paintings get tossed from place to place, from family member to family member and they can end up in someone’s attic or basement. Only after the artist garners notoriety do people then want to desperately get them and sell them to the highest bidder.
@@gothicMCRgirl I know that paintings turn up in strange places. I am not saying that I am saying that this painting does not REMOTELY look like a Monet. I know because I have worked with Monet before.
if it was a monet, people would bring it to an auction house and not a pawn shop
Whats your take at 4:53 ? Is that an original Shelby Donald "Monet" Duck bike?
@@Phethario Authentic to the core.
The sound levels between the commentary and the clips were so bad I couldn't finish the video...😂
love the video but when you edit it keep the volumes the same. having to turn it down cause your voice is way louder than the show creates an issue
I love watching the pseudo intellect Rick, getting his a$$ owned by Chum.
Rick Harrison has a lot of nerve calling others thieves and scammers when he is one of the most dishonest persons on planet earth.
dude i love chum hes so cool and down to earth i love they showed his little victory in the end, though he should have known about the signatures so they better call the sword guy still just in case lol
He’s also a criminal.
@@TimTE01 uh oh was it bad?
It was a scripted event.
@@aliceslab He's been done a few times, he got taken in on sexual assault charges, gun charges, drug possession charges, etc
@@ggavalon5803 thats terrible guess you cant judge a book by its cover.
You can tell by how big Cory face is to tell what year at the pawn shop
YOUR VOICE REALLY HELPED!!! VERY GOOD!
The forged signature on the sword wasn’t a scam lol, they literally explain that in the show
DB only got away with it because he worked alone and the sec his feet hit the ground he never told a soul.
Damn bro you should level your VO volume with the volume of the clips. It'd make for a more pleasant experience.
I love the way Rick is holding is head when Chum pisses him off 🤣🤣🤣
So the bike is exactly the same in every way; but it is 4 years younger. Who goes through the trouble to forge something and miss something that huge.
i was thinking the same, but a Donald bike only made in 49, out of a regular model build for years its easy to fin a regular one and building a Donald out of it, but therefor he would have to have those special pieces. who knows, my guess someone wanted a Donald but couldnt afford the real deal and builded a replica instead
Why do you ruin the suspense of the final price by telling us before showing the clip?
That’s what I’m saying
The narration is WAAYYY too loud, otherwise nice vid
The coin may not be free and clear. When and insurance company pays a claim and the item is later found, the insurance company may be able to claim it. They should have been contacted, not just the former owner.
All done on purpose paid people off to "clear 'n' free" the clain to make $$$.
they would be. Any business or pawn shop or reseller knows the procedures when it comes to stolen items and such. Such things are skipped over because it's a reality show and nothing was really stolen, etc.
they didn’t include that part of the investigation because it would have made it complicated. odds are it was never stolen and they only said it was to showcase that they have to put up with stolen items from time to time
"He was really well off. He was a doctor." Why did ne need a million dollar loan and where did this guy get $1 million to lend? Now chumly carries around a dog in a sash and knows everything about vintage Disney characters? The writers for this show have run out of ideas and aren't even trying anymore.
Chum has always been the toy guy, I wasn't shocked he knew about Donald
Chum has been doing it for years dude
Doctors take millions dollar loans all the time. You have no clue what you’re talking about.
Chum carrying around his pupper! Lol
You're a rising star! ⭐
Chum with a Paris Hilton dog in a sling???? Time for Rick and Corey to change his name to chump, take him WAY out in the desert and.....🤣🤣🤣
There is no way that Chumlee knows as much as he says. I know Rick is knowledgeable, but Chumlee, NO WAY!
depends on the subject. chumlee can be very knowledgeable about certain tops, mostly nerd stuff.
Why's that?
I thought as much, plus he is too young to know such details about events that happened decades or centuries before he was born and talk about them as he was there
It's reality TV. 90% of what you see is scripted.
Chumlee isn't the brainless goof they portray on the show. That is just their character for him when they started the show he's nothing like that in real life, which you can see in many various interviews and such. He works in a pawn shop, so yes he does know stuff about the merchandise they carry and buy.
The 2 Boys dealing Coke out the back ... 😂
"This is a catwalk rig, trust me." I wouldn't trust anyone dumb enough to not know what a cakewalk is.
My god the audio balancing is excruciating
i really liked the video but match the audio sound levels, i cut it shorts because i couldnt hear the tv show portions then get blasted by your voice if i turned it up
chumlee carrying around that pomeranian like a man purse is something else.
I agree watching early morning and when narrator talk it blast so much louder than the clips
There are not scammers but just people who don't know better what they have
I'm sure that canvas is a Paint By Numbers! There are a number of Monet kits you can buy.
😂😂😂
Dude. It’s a nice compilation, but the audio levels on the VO are so much higher than necessary. Speaking of “necessary,” it’s completely *unnecessary* to provide a detailed narration of each scene prior to showing it. Each time I was like “spoiler alert!?” I found myself growing sequentially more annoyed. If you insist on narration:
1. *Introduce* the scene with ONLY a simple description that doesn’t give anything away, like “In this episode, Chumley buys some samurai swords without calling in an expert.” That’s it.
2. *Check* audio levels before posting
Chum rocked it on the swords 😂🎉
my question is, why did the coin not go to the insurance company!
I love this guy’s dad.
Virgin: “Uh haw hum I weally need dis much” vs
Chad: “No you don’t”
250k subs and he can't normalize his volume. Incredible.
One of these days someone should be told "1500 and not a dime more" to the response of "1500.09".
I'm not an expert, but you can tell just by looking that the painting can't be Monet. The colors are nowhere near as bright and vibrant. Even if it was "from his early days"
Rick was way too hard on chum about the swords, it looked like chum knew the guy and could trust him, regulars are always treated better at a pawn shop
You had me at Donald Monet.
love the video!! the voice over is a bit loud though
Wait, these crooks made a living from ripping people off!!!
Is anyone going to tell them that’s a sea turtle shell not a tortoise shell?
Can't sell sea turtle shells either since sea turtles are protected.
Fukin Chumlee at the end what that smart and Rick was like you just got lucky reamed you a good one LOL
Idk the biggest thief is the dude undervaluing all the items that come across his desk to such an extreme degree. Dude steals from ppl on that show all the damn time. I understand needing to make a profit but these ppl are greedy as fuck
The guys are only in the shop for filming. Anytime someone brings something interesting in they have them come in for filming. In the meantime they also research the pieces and have experts on hand when needed.
That's why they seem like experts on everything.
Duh!!!!
the only one only in the shop for filming is Chumlee, he isn’t a real employee. Cory, Rick, and Richard are actually working there
I wouldn't call these scammers.
Rick really said "It doesnt take skill to win at a slot machine" while he works at a PAWN SHOP.... That in itself is running a slot machine
Great job on the Japanese Swords Chum.🤓👍
If I were you i'd change the title. You can't prove these people KNEW they were selling forged items. If I were one of these people I'd sue you for defamation. Just sayin'.
I completely agree! ......but CZcams doesn't care as long as they get theirs $$$😅
What was the problem with the DB Cooper bill? It wasn't a scam or illegal item was it?
I'd assume if it was checked into evidence by the investigator that initialed it then it's illegal to own or sell since it's part of an ongoing investigation..
Love having to adjust my volume multiple times in a video between trying to hear it and getting my ears blown out
My speakers explode everytime you talk! 😅
I can't believe dude did the restoration and then flipped it over and put the handlebars and seat on the ground. He probably uses a priceless piece of art as a doormat.
No other way to flip the bike. You don't work on it upright lol
He didn't restore it yet.
Amazing that these guys who rip so many people off.... could call someone a thief.
Why are some parts of the show blurred out??
