I guess original stitch is under the mentality that there's no such thing as bad publicity. Even if Lockstin hates a particular design, someone watching the video will probably like it. These videos are just a really good way to advertise all the designs at once. It is a pretty genius move if you ask me.
@@R0-83-RT not to mention the sponsorship guarantees a video reaching his audience and since he's doing it fast and most of them are decent/good it's easily consumable and will likely leave a decent impression on consumers.
basically, some are perfect, some are TOO PURE FOR THIS WORLD, some aren't even pokemon at this point, some are scream peeing, and some are too happy for no reason

hamsters have incredibly small ears that hug tight to their heads, so it looks like they don't have ears most of the time
As someone who does embroidery I can honestly say some could have been done better, putting outlines and changing positions would really have helped a lot of these designs but they are very cute and a good idea.
honestly I think if they just removed the mouths on half of them, they wouldnt be too bad

the cross stitcher in me is cringing at the fact that a PROFESSIONAL company cant have the crosses in the X's face the same way. some of them would look way nicer if they just do this!

I honestly kinda agree. I feel like the Pixel art style is a bit too limiting and 2 colors can muddle together and look like one but other than that, its pretty good.

I'm not the biggest fan of Polos but my husband does like them. I'm considering getting one with Pikachu for them, just not sure yet if I'm willing to pay the asking price for it.

I only like polo shirts because I don't feel like I'm being strangled while I wear them and some have a pocket, which gives me more pockets
That is interesting, when I wore polos, I felt like I was being strangled. Than again, I was always in an environment that required all buttons to be buttoned.

(When cross stitching make sure all the stitches faces the same way otherwise it looks really messy.)

I've done cross stitch once and I could definitely do a better job.
The difference between handmade and mass produced.
Handmade will look better, but mass produced will be cheaper. You did say you would do it for cheaper, but I suspect you only counted material cost, and not the time you spend making it, and earning yourself a decent pay.
Liggliluff thats fair but to do the size of the art on one of those polos may take me 1 to 2 hrs max for a complicated design. So being generous and say I get payed $10 an hr plus materials, it would still be a lot cheaper. I think a lot of their cost is name associated with the and licensing the ip.
Some of these are flat out cursed, but the ones they nailed are perfect. Zubat and Porygon I'd consider buying in a heartbeat

Thanks for the LOL's! I've been in a funk lately and this was just the thing to cheer me up. I liked Oddish and the reminder that it has red eyes. I showed this to my mom, she enjoyed this. She pointed out that Arcanine looks to be in pain, aaaannd it all went downhill from there. 🤣 I like Psyduck and Poliwhirl, cute -mons both. Gyarados has a big mouth so it makes sense. I'd argue that for fans of the older games, Zubat is the most recognizable -mon, so it makes sense that its design is perfect. The Eevee evo's look more like scared dogs than ever. They managed to make Polygon cute.

I'm pretty sure you're right since cross stitching results in a pixel-like pattern whereas embroidery often has a more fluid look.

I cross stitch rather regularly and am only in my mid 20s!!! It's pretty difficult to turn spites into a cross stitch unless you have a more accurate pattern or a HUGE sprite to work with.
Really enjoying these review videos man. I dunno what about makes me like these so much but keep it up man. Also, I'd be down to watch you review sprites.

I wholeheartedly agree. When I was in high school, people were talking a lot about changing the official uniform to polos. I was ready to drop from school if that happened (lucky me, they never did it).
Every school I've been to has had polos as the uniform's shirts
I think they're just the norm where I live so I've just gotten used to them
Had to pause and laugh at the descriptions you gave for Ekans and Arcanine.
Also, this would have been the perfect medium to give us a Missingno decal.

I liked maybe five of these. I think they were working too small for cross stitch. They should've gone for regular embroidery.
these would look AMAZING as custom designs in animal crossing, and since theyre already kinda pixelated itll be even easier to carry that over
Seems to me the biggest problem was trying to do details that were too small, like a line for a closed mouth.
I absolutely loved the Eevee one. Eevee is my favorite Pokémon along with it's evolutions but here they did not do Vaporeon, Flareon, and Jolteon justice.

I would really like to see you do a series where you compare sprites from every game for a specific pokemon, you could do it by region! See how the sprite has changed through the years, which would be especially interesting for pokemon who have undergone more extreme changes but also to see the little changes. I'd be curious to see

The Bulbasaur fan in my is very happy with that design. The casual cross stitcher in me is INCREDIBLY UPSET at whoever gave them such a TINY area to work in when making these designs, because the pixel art is RIGHT THERE, ready to be adapted, if given the correct sized space.
7.5/10, would rather have actual sprites cross stitched onto a shirt. But some of them were adorable.

... I’d never pay more than 5 bucks for a shirt... literally 90% of my shirts are Polo shirts bought at goodwill. They are casual and professional, and they are good for everything except yard work.
