I really enjoy megas for gameplay and in universe stand point. This idea of using a secret power to break a pokemon's strength threshold, suffering drawbacks of this transformation is so cool to me, but I do wish the detrimental part of it was more present on the gameplay aspect, being more of a "are you sure you wanna do this? It could backfire" and less of "use this to nuke the enemy's entire team", otherwise it has the same problem as z moves imo, where it's just a flashy "I win" button

Mario did defeat King Boo in Mario Sunshine which some have expressed as a prequel to Luigi’s mansion and how King Boo says to the portrait Mario is trapped inside “you’ve caused me trouble in the past”. Which could relay to not too long ago when Mario defeated King Boo on Delfino island and then King Boo came up with the idea to get his revenge on Mario. Though once Luigi made it to defeat him, King Boo summons Bowser to use as a puppet for the King to defeat Luigi, as Madame Clairvoya predicted “Bowser was somewhere in the castle. Did King Boo somehow revive Bowser?”

Patchquest is one of those hidden gems that's been through a long iterative process and came out with a core that just works. The core gameplay is solid and the rest of the game is built to synchronize well with it.

My favorite thing to do with a Beast Ball in the games where we don't have Ultra Beasts is to save-scum a difficult/legendary pokemon encounter and try to catch it in that ball as a joke. I think I've only pulled it off twice

Pokeballs need a complete overhaul. On the whole, they are SHOCKINGLY unbalanced. The Moon Ball should be replaced with a ball that catches all stone evolutions, the Heal & Friend Balls should merge together, Premier Balls should have a secret 3x modifier on shiny Pokemon, and the luxury ball should be relegated to a really expensive flex.

I might be a little late, but regarding the Cobble Badge at 35:28, I've always seen it as two arms going in opposite directions of each other to hit whoever's throwing the punch. The long rectangle is an arm, then the square is the hand or fist. But as for the name, then the idea that the black belts, gym leader, and pokemon using concrete or rocks to train then using it to make the ground for Veilstone City is way better.

In the celebi movie there was a pokeball that you needed to wind up like a music box to make it work en a Dark ball that supposedly makes your pokemon Level 100

Hey Gnoggin, i just kinda had this thought/theory that may be interesting to cover, not just from a lore standpoint, but a design standpoint. I dont think voltorb and electrode were originally supposed to be based on pokeballs, like...at all. Back in gen 1, no one would have known that the pokeball would be so iconic. Rather, I think their original intended origin was based on charged Ions. They have a red and white side, The colors used to represent positive and negative charge on a magnet. Voltorb's eyes are angry, denoting a NEGATIVELY charged ion while it evolves to get a big "happy" smile and reverses its colors, denotating it's reversed in polarity to become a Positively charged Ion. Their habit to explode may be an allusion to how unstable charged ions are and the idea of splitting an atom causes a nuclear explosion. Yet, with the simple thing of them looking like pokeballs, people only note that as their origin and ignore the rest of it. Maybe there's more to such a simple design than one would think? A deep dive into the yokai and scientific inspirations could be neat, even bringing hisuian electrode into the mix and its origins in Houroku-Hiya hand grenades and exploding seeds.

Dusk Balls are the best ever. Screw the Quick Ball. Dusk Balls made my catches so easy, especially since I love to play at night. While a Quick Ball caused my very only Shiny fail (Skuntank used Memento right after it)

I always hear people calling this game a flop but I played it like crazy when they came out and when BW2 was announced I saved for like a whole month and half so I could buy it they are my 2nd favorite mainline Pokémon games after ruby and sapphire. Everything people complained about I loved. I loved making the connections between these new Pokémon and old Pokémon designs. Loved the sprites. The story was far more compelling and it ignited my love for Pokémon again

This might sound weird but in my opinion, koraidon looks like a donphan, braviary and charizard had a big baby in front of Archeus who blessed it and turned it into a legendary
