Thank you for making this video! I loved hearing all the background music from the mini games! I think I started playing Neopets in the early 2000's when I was in middle school. I definitely had an obsession back then. My mom even caught me playing instead of doing my homework one time. I kept playing through high school, but definitely less often. Throughout the last few years though, I made sure to go on my accounts to make sure they weren't deleted. I've been playing daily again since November 2023. The new daily/weekly challenges have got me wanting to play more often! I've always loved Lupes, Eyries, and Unis, but have developed a love for Krawks and various other pets, depending on their paint color.
I'll also add that I used to get plushies of the pets at a store called Limited Too! I think I still have them all somewhere. Plus, they came with virtual codes for cool prizes, which was a nice bonus!
I think I still have a shadow Aisha plush in a drawer somewhere. Edit: My first Neopet was a Scorchio (or maybe it was a Shoryu), but it wasn't long before I adopted an Aisha (named Aishanoette) from the pound, which quickly became my primary.
One game I have been wanting you to cover for a while now is My Singing Monsters. The monster designs are very unique and there are over 200 of them (not including variations). I grew up with the game when it came out in 2012 and is part of the reason I'm as into music creation as I am now.
Active player here- thanks for using the darkest faerie soundtrack for some parts of the vid. It made my nerd heart very happy. But also you should do a video on the petpets, and the April fools neopets that never made it officially into the site.
I love this! A wonderful blast from the past. Also wanted to mention, koi is probably also taking inspiration from the beta fish, which are popular (if poorly kept) pets. They are solitary, and males will fight to the death by tearing at each other's fins, hence the fins becoming fists.
My very best friend and I bonded when we first met over playing Neopets very dedicatedly. My first account is still there but I can't access it. Millions in NP and tons of exclusive old items from near the start. But, I wanted back in. So I made a new one last year, just in time for the Altador Cup, a nice thing to come around for. I was so pleasantly surprised to see Vandagyres. I got one and then a bunch from the pound. It's as charming as ever, and I still love it
Always such a trip seeing neopets being talked about by people outside the active community - everyone should come back to Neopia! We’re still here and would love to have you!
Thank you for making this video! I've long time ago had a neopet plush and lost it but I didn't know if it was this or a pokemon and my parents searched for weeks for a replacement before we gave up... Now I can fill the hole that's been left in my heart for over a decade...

Also, also, are you up to date with Neopets? So much is happening on the site!
Neat. I really enjoy watching Lockstin in these sorts of videos. I wonder if he'll ever cover Persona (or Shin Megami Tensei in general). I doubt he'd touch the Sujimon from Like A Dragon, but that could be fun as well.

“Remember playing neopets” *me on my 2004 era neopets classic private server spinning the wheel of excitement on a Monday morning in 2024* “uhhhyeah I sure do!”
Fun fact (or non-fact), before the word Alicorn was make popular by MLP FiM many places either called a winged unicorn a Pegasus or a Unicorn (though some just said Winged Unicorn)... this is because the term Alicorn was the name of the horn on the unicorn at some point (and if you look up Alicorn now you will most likely get mlp references... yeah)-- so Uni's name still fits even though it's a very vanilla pet (Lupe was also very vanilla now that I think about it)
I wanted a Drake so bad as a kid and could never get one (from an egg or anything), while a few years ago in 2020 I accrued enough to get a pirate Drake egg. It was the cheapest one and still very very pricy in nps. Kougra in red was also a big fave of mine aside from Ixi (green or yellow) and Lupe in blue. So classic. No I was never able to get any paintbrushes either as a kid (the free starter ones don't count lol). I was lucky as a kid to get one of those cute toy animatronic blue uni.

So much nostalgia. I still remember when they had the tiny plushes at McDonald's.
Active player here- thanks for using the darkest faerie soundtrack for some parts of the vid. It made my nerd heart very happy. But also you should do a video on the petpets, and the April fools neopets that never made it officially into the site.
Flotsam and Jetsam are also a reference to The Little Mermaid, as those are the names of Ursula's eels
I literally gasped when I saw Lockstin did a Neopets video! As a resident of Neopia I thank you for this good content!
35:54 I mean, Neopets had a McDonald's in Neopia Central for a very long time.
One of the later owners got rid of it eventually though.
Yeah, I was in high school at the time, and while I was still playing Pokemon, I never got into Neopets.
There's so much lore caked into this whole site
I'm signing up Neopets again after more than a decade thanks to this vid🥴
Oh a new neopets video...LOCKSTIN!?!??!?!?
I would LOVEEEE to see you cover Monster Sanctuary! It's such a refreshing take in the creature collector genre and deserves so much attention!
16:14 The star of my old favorite Neopets flash game, Korbat's lab.
...Which is still unplayable even with Ruffle as the ball refuses to detatch from the paddle...
My childhood! I always wanted a Draik, but for some reason could never get one
This was such an unexpected nostalgia trip, and I really appreciate the deviation from your usual pokemon stuff! Hope to see more of this in the future!
24:41 There's also Nimue, the Lady of the Lake of Arthurian legend.
Not only do I indeed remember Neopets, i STILL have my three small neopets plushes, being Gelert, Grrarl and Meerca all are Light Blue Colored! ^_^ although there's some Neopets plushes i still want
AAAAHHHHH YOURE DOING A VIDEO ON NEOPETS!!!!! I JUST SAW THE NOTIFICATION AND IM SO EXCITED TO WATCH IT!!
Your pokemon videos are great and I watch them with my partner all the time! I talk to him about Neopets, but I know it's not really his thing, so I don't go into much detail. I'm so excited to show this to him so he has more context!!!
Also, also, are you up to date with Neopets? So much is happening on the site!
Flotsam and jetsam like the eels from little mermaid?
But they are a Dolphin and Shark
Neat. I really enjoy watching Lockstin in these sorts of videos. I wonder if he'll ever cover Persona (or Shin Megami Tensei in general). I doubt he'd touch the Sujimon from Like A Dragon, but that could be fun as well.
I'm really glad you made this video, because I have never heard of some of these.
So happy made this video!
I played Neopets so much in Middle school and some high school and got back into itna few years ago!
I am glad it has been getting some good coverage on CZcams in the last few years too!
😁
“Remember playing neopets” *me on my 2004 era neopets classic private server spinning the wheel of excitement on a Monday morning in 2024* “uhhhyeah I sure do!”
Fun fact (or non-fact), before the word Alicorn was make popular by MLP FiM many places either called a winged unicorn a Pegasus or a Unicorn (though some just said Winged Unicorn)... this is because the term Alicorn was the name of the horn on the unicorn at some point (and if you look up Alicorn now you will most likely get mlp references... yeah)-- so Uni's name still fits even though it's a very vanilla pet (Lupe was also very vanilla now that I think about it)
I needed this after just finishing MatPat's last Style Theory, thank you
Completely forgot about Neopets before you made this video.
I always had the idea of turning Neopets into Pokémon or vice versa
I wanted a Drake so bad as a kid and could never get one (from an egg or anything), while a few years ago in 2020 I accrued enough to get a pirate Drake egg. It was the cheapest one and still very very pricy in nps. Kougra in red was also a big fave of mine aside from Ixi (green or yellow) and Lupe in blue. So classic. No I was never able to get any paintbrushes either as a kid (the free starter ones don't count lol).
I was lucky as a kid to get one of those cute toy animatronic blue uni.
27:58
this one will always be my #1 favorite Neopet ^^
23:35 Just like Sentret.
Might not be a coincidence.
31:44 Except Italian Ice is Itallian-American and has roots in Sicilian granita and Italian soda is also Itallian-American, originally made with syrup from Lucca.
started playing neopets for the first time 7 months ago and have played at least once daily since, it's already back as far as im concerned.
I don't even think I'd choose the same neopet now as I did as a child. My tastes have evolved since then.
The music is giving me flashbacks and I'm frothing at the mouth catching ice cream scoops.
Neopets was a huge part of my Childhood. Also the fact you have the Soundtrack from Neopets The Darkest Faerie is just hitting all my Nostalgia Points. Thanks for this Video, I Loved it. It reminded me of my Favorite Neopets and the good times I had with em. Glad I still have all mine. 💛😻😻😻💛
Great video! Please make more content on Neopets, especially some of the lore and worldbuilding revealed through the plots!
24:24 Funny thing is, I keep mixing up JumpStart with LeapFrog in my mind and JumpStart owned Neopets for a while.
Hearing Usul and having a dozen Dune videos to the side of this video made my day (Usul is Paul's Fremen name). Anyway, Xweetok is the best pet, and it's the thing I remember most about Neopets. ♥
I can’t wait for lockstin to cover an obscure Lego series called Mixels that was released in 2014.
So I know this isn't exactly "creature" collecting. But Meta bots would be a cool collector to cover. (Cover pox or the barcode scanner one to be extremely obscure!)
If you remembered Neopets, then maybe also cover creatures & dragons from FlightRising? That’s basically also browser-based game about collecting & breeding dragons + collecting other creatures
That Soundtrack from "Neopets: The Darkest Fairy"
