    Let's go over EVERY Pokemon Move! Today, the second half of the normal type moves... there are a lot of normal type moves in Pokemon. I wonder if they will add any in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl? Arceus is a normal type Pokemon! I'm excited to see how Judgement looks in Pokemon Legends: Arceus.

    From what I’ve seen, mind’s eye seems to get used often in Japanese fiction in situations where someone’s skilled enough at a task that they can predict how it’s gonna play out. So that could explain why mind reader is normal, it’s not literal mind reading, but thinking ahead to predict your opponent’s move.

    Specifically, a round is not necessarily "harmony" more than a method of generating a specific type of harmony; it describes a piece of music where the same thing is played over itself but with different start times so you hear different sections of it simultaneously. Many pieces or songs are designed for this purpose or happen to work well with it, but technically you can make anything into a round, no matter how beautiful or awful it might sound.

    SO just wanted to add that a “round” in music actually isn’t singing in unison, and although many rounds are harmonized, many of them are actually using the same pitches. this is because a round is actually a sort of “delayed unison” so one voice (instrument or vocals) will begin, and soon after another will do the exact same thing the first voice did a few seconds ago. it can sound a bit chaotic at times but in most cases, it ends up fitting into a beautiful chord structure! that’s why, when 2 Pokémon use round, the second one gets a boost due to it starting slightly after the first, fitting in this musical device. I love learning all the stuff i can from your guys’ videos, so i just thought I’d leave this correction here so others may learn from something random that i know about as well :)

    Wouldn't a sound type just always have special attack focused pokemon? That's pretty boring from a gameplay perspective.

    • @yosiahw4305
      @yosiahw4305 Před 3 lety +15

      Not necessarily, supersonic sound waves could reverberate off of the Pokémon's surroundings. That could cause avalanches, cave ins, volcanic eruptions, explosions, etc. and that's just one idea off of the top of my head.
      Those are all physical moves.

    • @kylerzam9749

      I just feel like sound is a very normal thing in pokemon. Every pokemon has a cry, and I don't see why sound would need an entire type.

    • @WishedWash
      @WishedWash Před 3 lety +11

      I mean sound is just the vibration physical material, so it would be physical. But that would STILL be boring from a gameplay standpoint so it doesn't really matter. I guess people just really want a new type and sound is the only option that comes to mind.

      I mean, psychic has very little physical attacks, they usually pair with another type for physical attacks. Psychic is still well rounded despite that. A sound type could deal like that, but since sound waves are more tangible(i.e. moving materials by vibration) it can have more physical moves than psychic could.

    Returning from Legends Arceus, Minimize being Normal type makes more sense.
    In Legends Arceus, Professor Laventon explains that if a Pokémon cannot go any longer, the Pokémon will "faint", and then actually start shrinking itself into a very small size so that they cannot be hurt as they are regenerating from battle. *Hence why they're called Pokémon* .
    So considering every Pokémon does this ability, Minimize being normal makes sense, though just like Belly Drum, it's probably skilled in their shrinking abilities that they can do this. Huh. This kinda makes Smogon banning moves with Minimize being one of the front cover moves of banned moves more funnier.

    A round in music is when one person begins the song, and then another joins in shortly behind the first, and then a third or more join in a little behind as well until you have the whole group singing in harmony, but they all aren’t singing the song in unison like you normally would. You’re going “around” with the singers.
