    You did a great job, and an excellent film. Again you've discovered the weaknesses of this EUC. Speaking of V11, if it's a defect it can be fixed, but if they designed it to have such tilt back, and then to sit in the "nose" is a big mistake! I look forward to the stress test. All the best!

    Apparently, Inmotion has a history of abrupt tilt backs when the battery is low. They have been so receptive to consumers needs with the V11, and I am surprised this is continuing. Marty, do you think this is how Inmotion wants their EUC’s to respond, or is it a problem they want to fix?
    I am a strong supporter of this channel, because you deep dive into the wheels. That deep dive exposes possible faults, and strengths of the wheels, which protects us, the enthusiasts.

    I don't have a V11 but talking from experience about low battery on the v8f, it does the same thing when it goes below 68V no load. it says low battery please get off or something and then 5 seconds later it slowly tilts back to that position maybe in a span of 5-10 seconds and then stays that way whatever you do until you don't charge it, and the app still shows 11% battery (pretty stupid tbh), looks like this is the same with every inmotion wheel. What you say about the low battery mode and the preproduction wheel my guess was the same that they are not compatible, otherwise the battery reading of around 30% seems right, it will go down to 63V, which would give you around 15 more miles. Thanks for the test Marty, you are again the first person to test this :)

    Instructive review as expected from Marty the GOAT of EUCs
    What is it they say again "well build"... you can't walk this thing trhough final tilt back, the trolley handle comes off (you might get back pain doing so for a long time), throws you off of the wheel rapidly, NO WARNING?! what is this ? 300€ wheel ? come on ! I do not trust inmotion and i still cannot :s But hopefully for those who will buy it, this could be adjusted by firmware (in the video they say the tiltback is like that and nothing has changed) but i don't know if they are willing to do so. You can say whatever you want about KS, but they never forget about safety first
    Nice 80km on 30km/h average though.

    @xvaldez3284 Před 2 lety

    That's actually normal for inmotion wheels. They're the most safety oriented euc company so I'm pretty sure it's a safety feature. Granted the first time it happened to me I almost fell cause I wasn't expecting my wheel to kick me off but even if I did fall it would have been a measly 3-5mph crash vs the potential 20mph crash I would have had if it cut out instead. The tiltback really is annoying though. Still has some gas in the tank so it's possible to ride it slowly but it won't let you once you get to 15% unlike begode wheels that basically let you run the battery down to 0%. If they were gonna do that I wish they'd at least have a walk mode or something that let's the wheel run upright but will shut off if you try going past 4mph or something. Fast enough most people would be able to walk normally without it shutting off but slow enough to make it more of hassle than it's worth to ride.

      @ElectricUnicycles  Před 4 lety +2

      I appreciate your concern but I think your reaction is maybe a bit too strong. I've been talking with Inmotion and they believe this should not be happening, so I think a forthcoming firmware update will correct this. • @nomoremids1472

A Perhaps if you had put it in the calibration position if there is one, you may have got the pedals level again Marty, and that extra bit of battery life? Maybe, maybe not? A soft reset with a long press of the power button may have got it back to the upright position again, at least for wheeling?

  • @gpsanino
    @gpsanino Před 4 lety

    Hi Marty, thanks so much for your test. I wonder about the tilt position at the end of your test. It seems to me that a possible cause of it, is that the calibration on Inmotion EUC has to be done with the wheel on a "resting". Not on its side not on a standing position but at the position you park the wheel. Since the V11 has a "parking" device, it has its logic to expect that this is the position you need to put the EUC before pressing that button on the app. Have you checked this with Liam? It is very unfortunate that you did not receive the manual or its draft with the unicycle to avoid these issues (like having to put on its side the unit to update the firmware). Thanks a lot and take care.

    • @ElectricUnicycles
      @ElectricUnicycles  Před 4 lety

      Yes, communicated with Liam and haven't heard anything back. I'm positive calibration is not the issue. Wheels don't go out of calibration like that. I have since heard from other V11 owners that the wheel do tilt-forward like that when the battery is very low.

      I don't know if it's there in the very latest production wheels, but it was in the first production release. If I had to bet money, based on how Inmotion wheels work in general, I would say they still have severe tilt-back characteristics at low battery. I can't answer your question will authority though.

      @@ElectricunicyclesUK It could be that he's trying to keep as many parameters as possible the same from wheel to wheel for the comparisons. But if suspension allows higher tire pressures and higher tire pressures give less rolling resistance thus more mileage per charge, then that should be taken advantage of by a test, IMHO.
