    Do you think that the different suspension design is what's affecting the ride feel? Specifically that the V11 is essentially an EUC with "suspension pedals" whereas the S18's suspension is more like a typical vehicle where the body/pedals are a single unit and the wheel moves? Is that maybe why the S18 feels like a more playful wheel?

    I'm in Denver too, and put about 3k miles on my KS16x in about 10 months. I mostly ride streets, but i've taken my KS16X up table mesa in Golden and other dirt trails... I'd love to take more of them, but i will always be primarily a street rider only because of business (Turo, and 9-5).
    With that said i think i'm going to switch my reservation back to my original choice: the S18. My posture still is not the best, and the ergonomics win... I can live without the little bit of range and slow down a little.. Thanks for the review!

    They say youtubers are still trying to beat the hell out of the S18 in 2056😂😂😂 seriously I completely agree with your saying about both these wheels. I don't care about plastic, I want solid structure that's why I préfère the s18, it has proven that it is insanely solid. If was only cruising and not leaving in France where streets are litteraly CRAPPY or paved, where everything is not that far, I would consider v11 but I'm way to impulsive and trying things whenever I ride, so I would feel limited by the v11 in those occasions. Plus I can only afford one wheel so It had to be able to do both street and fun/experience. Glad you like them both and can make people realize that those 2 top suspension wheels ( welcome to 2020) are just not comparable. This is not the same game. #stopthecomparison

    • @laurencebeasley8660
      @laurencebeasley8660 Před 3 lety +1

      I’ve got a Z10 and S18.
      The Z10 has stronger hill climbing and better acceleration but the best is the bigger tyre and how you can corner by locking the outside leg keeping the wheel upright and leaning into the corner - that is so enjoyable and stable and no chance of catching your pedal.
      The S18 has suspension so I don’t superman if I hit a hidden tree root or hole and it’s more nimble at the cost of less stability.
      If I could add suspension to the Z10 it would be amazing but alas, its hard to change your riding style back and forth so I’ll be selling the Z10.

      If you can could hit uneven surfaces and ride hard then the suspension on the S18 is a huge step up in stability and safety, imagine riding a motorbike with and without suspension.
      Oh and the S18 is noticeably lighter.
      Don’t get me wrong, the Z10 is one of a kind and I think superior to every other EUC that doesn’t have suspension, and that’s the difference.

      @@Cons2911 no man it’s been great, put 1k miles on it so far and it still rides like the first day
      I padded up the sides for protection and power pads so the actual wheel hasn’t really been hit hard , nothing has ever popped off
      Now is a good time to get the S-18 because they have a special edition version that just came out that has better power (much better battery)
      The only think about the wheel is that 28mph after 4-5 months of riding seems a lil shy of what how you naturally wanna ride when your traveling and eventually you’ll realize the wheel has enough torque for things but you’ll notice limited push after you get used to it so I’m upgrading to the S20 because of that but yeah it’s been a great wheel

      @thefoss721 Před 2 lety

      @@Cons2911 the S-18 is my first wheel and it’s been amazing, I couldn’t have wished for anything better, coming from a one wheel the ability on that S-18 has been incredible in the mtns and on the street, the suspension people like more on the S18 but the V11 is good as well, not the same though, the range is better and it probably could cruise at 30-32 for the V11 , cruising at 28-29 on the s-18 I try and stay a few mph under its limit to prevent a cut out and haven’t ever had one , either would be great first wheels though they are both held as great wheels
      I use baby foam padding for the body of the wheel, it’s cheap and super protective against all falls and it’s definitely saved my wheel, I actually made pads out of that foam and just shaped it so my legs could rest in that… some regular pads would be much easier and probably better, there’s a lot of brands out there you just want them to be thick enough so your leg feels like it has enough force to push on the pads… I’d look up pads I’m not to familiar with pads but a lot of these guys on these channels are you could message them
      Lmk if you have any questions but your gonna absolutely love these eucs man they are something else… just expect a week or so and be patient while learning , it was harder than I thought , lots of “how to learn” videos as well if it’s challenging , I’m currently learning how to ride backwards , it helps confidence going forward, stopping, reversing and switching back and fourth
      It’s been a amazing road while learning how to use these devices, for the price you really get so much ability /speed/range , and when you upgrade check out the S-22, I’m about to get that one, a lot of these new wheels coming out will have suspension because it’s just much better for riding and grip , bumps, rocks etc, helps you stay on the wheel so much … ahhhh it’s great , the big ones are super hard to learn on though so keep that in mind, showing others how to learn you don’t want any bigger than a S-18 (just turn off the suspension when others jump on, makes the learning much harder) I just learned that
      Enjoy!!! And appreciate whatever wheel you get! She will take care of you if you stay within its limits that are learned after a few months of feeling out the wheel and how it handles pressure/speed/torque , but don’t worry about that at first, lean into that baby as much as you want it won’t cutout , it’s hard to do that at first … almost impossible lol

But for us, we still haven’t seen production quality reviews, and all our decisions would be based on info sourced from inaccurate reviews. I wouldn’t buy the V11 now, but that’s based on a review of the pre-production wheel. See how that works? What’s the point of watching all these reviews then? If every flaw is going to be “oh that’s going to be fixed... we hope”. We really all need to wait another 2 months to see real reviews of the production wheels...

      Some guy crashed his brand new S18-2 when he fell off over small unmarked speed bump here in Moscow, one might question his skills, but the wheel landed on top right gap near front light, that's where battery corner is, and the part of the frame which holds right battery cracked open through the screw on top side of battery box. I hope it's just bad luck, poor guy, but I'm going to put some protection on my S18 when it arrives.

      I wouldn't bet a dime on what Hsiang have said on how his V11 broke apart after his crash. He couldn't even back it up with video. According to him, he didn't even remember what happened. He was too busy trying to pull his soul back into his human body right after the crash. Who knows if his wheel was ran over by cars behind him. He's a youtuber, he knows how to get perks for free.

      And NY crush. As for S18, we already have here in Russia a case when on just 25 km/h a guy haven't noticed a bump and broken a metal (!) plate on the top of the wheel (the one where all suspension rails come into) into two parts, it appeared that it is made of a powder metal of a very bad quality. Also, suspension doesn't work good on production S18 due to rails jamming and broken bearings (there are 14 of them inside suspension system btw and as the first owners who has disassambled their wheels say half of the bearings are come in unsafisfactory condition). Thus, looks like there is no much advantage in production S18 having 3kg more weight than preproduction one. After Speedyfit feeback regarding wobbling Kingsong increased the thickness of upper pads. As the result noone likes the new ones and custom designs are already created. I've preorderded S18 and should get the one in about 3-5 days but looks like instead of the riding I will be doing disassambling and fixing the first week or two. So both wheels have a lot of realability and quality problems

      Personally I don't believe the avg rider will be facing hills like Overheat Hill ... although a great "test" ... that sort of a riding condition is likely rare. As far as the crash in NYC ... I don't think any wheel that hits the back end of a steel truck probably doing 20mph would fair much better ... the V11 has been dropped and knocked over like any wheel without any major shattering ... so again ... not a big concern to me ... After putting 1000km on a mini-segway ... lol ... I need more than 10mph and 90 min of riding time. I'm a cruiser on bike paths and the side of the highway and with some pads .. will try some trails ... so for me ... V11 all the way.
