There is no chance that EU5 is coming this year. Victoria 3 took 17 months to release after announcement while being developed for more than 4 years.

Here are some ideas for EU5 DLC's:
- grey horses DLC: this turns the horde horses grey in color. This DLC is also needed to open the production menu.
- polar bears DLC: this adds nice cute polar bears to arctic regions. This DLC is also required to open the diplomacy menu.
- functional arms DLC bundle. For safety reasons, in vanilla game armies cannot inflict damage to each other. This convenient bundle includes all the individual weapon DLC's to turn them damage inflicting. 50 EUR discount price.
- Hakkapeliitta DLC: Finnish names for all the best army units in the Swedish army.
- Winds of freedom DLC: Want to move your units? Buy this DLC.
- Currency DLC: Allows commercial transactions, taxation, bribing, blackmailing and paying for those janissaries.
- Keys DLC: Allows opening and closing the game. Saving and loading will be covered a another DLC released later.
- Rainbow of OZ DLC: Vanilla game will be black and white. Want to play in colors? Buy this DLC. Also allows building ships and researching new technologies.
- Master of EU DLC: Required to install DLC's or modding the game.

Love that they're finally updating the Caucasus/Arabia. Easily my favorite region to play in. The number of small tags makes it an early game bloodbath before ypu have to square off against final boss Ottobros, Mamluks, or Timurids/Mughals whichever goes full sicko mode
YES, Oman deserves some love. It's stupid they had a colonial empire, rivaled for control for trade in the arabian sea, and are the only country of ibadi muslim religion, yet they didn't have a unique mission tree

Ludi. Since Tinto is wrapping up EU4, perhaps you can do a video about a massive feature in EU4 which I've rarely seen anyone make a video about. That is to say, Custom Nations. I know you are the man for this. Top 5 (or so) Custom Nation setups and first few decades or so to demonstrate their power. Feel the REAL power in an unmodded, Achievement enabled ironman game with a Custom Nation! Please? :)

Ludi, you can get decaying power projection from supporting rebels. It's not as hard to get as you think.

To me it depends on how far along EU5 is. I can totally see them do one more cleanup dlc for underserved regions. It is clear however that they're winding down on EU4.
I'm expecting EU5 in 2026. I would be pleasantly surprised if it was ready in 2025. I get the impression Johan wants this to be his magnum opus, at least in some sense, so he has a strong incentive to do it right.
They are not gonna release it in 2024 lmao.
I really hope they add missions to the caliphate, and Indian formables. Considering they have had a recent focus on flushing out the mid and late game, having an addition set of missions at the bottom of the tree, similar to the current emperor of China tree, could be rlly interesting!
For the caliphate, there could be 2 paths, either expansion/jihad focused missions or internal development and connection focus.
As to the indian formables, ie Bharat and Hindustan, could benefit from missions focused on expansion of Princedoms into China, Persia, Indonesia, and East Africa for the Hindu paths calling back to earlier indian merchant republics, and for Hindustan, rebuilding the silk road under Muslim tutelage via expansion, and interlinking it with the trunk road, as a full tree meant to lead into the formation of the caliphate. For india, as the uncommon formable, there could be missions focused on Hindu domination, ie granting significant missionary strength buffs, and various "conversion states" developed out of regions conquered that aren't Hindu, eventually creating a powerful Hindu vassal swarm.
With all the content that eu4 have for over a decade, there is no way that eu5 will reach the expectations even for the next five years from its launch. Unless! Pdx gets atleast 70-80% of eu4's content to eu5 on the first year.

a Good thing is it looks like eu4 will be a massive improvement in Antolia. It seems we will have large greek majoritys but small turkish ruling classes in Antolia.

eu5 will release about 3 months after the 12th or 10th diary so next year in summer
one thing i pray for is that restarting doesnt reset the entire game ( and take 10000years), but is actually like alot faster to do and easier

Mine will be the one thing I've never done as a re-formed Roman Empire, conquer as much stuff as possible before I have enough because of the game lagging.

This dlc consists for 33% of stuff that should have been present in the King of Kings dlc.
As i see it, this company is just trying to milk its Playerbase for more money without offering any new content.

Even if this will be the last DLC for EU4 (which I also think it will), there's still a long way to go until EU5. At the most, with an announcement in early Autumn (which is my guess), it won't be out until Spring 2025, most likely early Autumn (one year after the announcement)

I think once they end Tinto Talks, they should really take like a 6 month period to polish and iterate on all of the feedback received, and then at that point maybe start actual dev diaries.

It's really doesnt matter when EU5 will release. CK2 still have 10x more content, then poor CK3 with 1.5 big DLCs. So we could play EU4 at least 3 years, i guess.
Well, we still have to wait for like five years of DLC after release to have a fleshed out game.
I hope that when Europa Universalis 5 comes out and we buy it, I won't have to spend PLN 1,000 to play the full version of the game.

Many peopel would love to have Total War style Battles in Eu5.
Would it be Expensive, time consuming and Difficult to develope those? Yes !

Total war style battles are completely outside the scope of the game. Not really doable without making military mechanics half of the game. The issue with Victoria 3 was that it DID innovate. It was dramatically different from Victoria 2 and suffered for it. They made bad innovations.

Simple battl stuff like in T.W. Rome 2 would already be so great.
Even Dune Spice Wars, which im playing right now, has better battles than Eu4.
I don't want anything crazy, just the option to rename yourself & change your colors like on ck3. I can't explain how badly I want that option in other paradox games, I am wacky with my alternative history and play throughs, painting the map with the name and color I want is key!

Vicky 3 was announced in may of 2021 and released in october of 2022 17 months
Johan has specifically said that the reason for these tinto talks are for getting the ideas for the game out there early to get feedback from the community so that they can make changes if needed, which is what vicky 3 desperately needed but there wasn't time
I know technically eu5 hasn't been announced but c'mon no one is fooled
so i am expecting a 20-24 month period from now, so we should expect eu5 released late 2025 october or november, or early 2026 2 years from now
I always play the game until admin tech 20 :c I do wish that there was more content about the deterioration of empires though, nationalist and colonial revolutions etc in the later game. I'd love to see it in EU5. I feel like it'd make the later game more interesting and harder to keep your empire together

As I am sure you know, the French revolution and American revolution were in the 18th, as was the beginning of the breakdown of the Portuguese and Spanish empires - even if their final demise was the beginning of the 19th. Anyway, my comment was because it would make the late game and the so called "EU4 age of revolutions" more fun to play in :)
I can't see them releasing EUV this year. No sooner than Q2 of 2025, but more likely Q3 or even Q4.

If this is the last DLC, why is Prussia being left out of getting a new badass mission tree? The mini rework Brandenburg -> Prussia got in Lions of the North leaves the historical Brandenburg less interesting than Teutons -> Prussia which leaves a really bad taste in my mouth to be honest, considering it is one of the fan favorites for playthroughs

All I'd like is for a functional game and not a repeat of Imperator, Vic 3, and Cities:Skylines 2. If they could replace mana with actual, functional limitations that would be great; overextension is fine, use that to impact the administration instead of adm mana, influence is fine, but take something from Vic 3 and have government buildings impact that influence, make it tick and exert a force like it does in Civilization so it has pulse power and wrap in the aspects of culture and religion, mil can instead be converted into military spending as now we are in the standing armies era, but I would like more customization like in HOI4, for the individual units. I'd like to be able to choose which ships and what cannons are on them, I'd like to have strategic resources and the cost of construction be adapted like it was in Vic 2 where you'd need to buy the materials if you didn't have them, from someone else, so it makes for diplomacy-building as a viable strategy and you can keep the traditional EU4 war system, so you fix the annoying part but you also don't remove the part that players actually enjoy. For the military aspects, it would be nice if general skill impacted the dice rolls, so a 3 star general can almost never roll a zero due to their skill but a 1 star general is far more likely to roll a zero. Expand out the military panel to include spots for flanking where the cavalry can deploy separately so they don't block out infantry and don't force artillery into the front row if the unit manpower is drained. For tech, I enjoy the Vic 2 innovation generated from universities, as this can still be applied in the eras that Eu4/5 covers, and they already have universities as a building type. Until the 1700s, religious institutions dominated this field because they were the ones who were literate. So when you want to increase your research progress you'll have to negotiate with the religious sects and if you are of a different faith and culture, like the Ottomans who conquer Constantinople, then you'll have to deal with the well-read newly conquered subjects else you gain a lot of revolt risk and have malice's to technological growth.
If only... that Paradox is long gone

Well no mission tree for Cilli either, and you could have had fun alternate history history path with tied to the real history. Such as PU over Hungary and bosnia AND eventually Austria.

In fact the discoveries DID NOT started because of the fall of Constantinople it started due to both Castille and specially Portugal having suffered a lot from the Portuguese sucession crisis, the aftermath of the XIV century crisis and the 100 years war, whith another motive being the fact that the Italian merchant republics (Genoa/Venice) being the ones who had acess to the indian products and markets so the price of those products was a lot higher for the iberians whether or not the existence of Byzantium, whith the start being in 21 of august of 1415.
So @LudietHistoria and @paradoxinteractive and other roman webus stop negating or degrading the discovery era made by Portugal/Castille/Spain pls
