Carisma themselves have some guides to modding the steering for better angle. They also have a steering upgrade set, be interested to see you work on that.

Rev 1 mods looks downright transformative. It looks like it's performance went from frustrating to fun! "It's a van!" Too right, and it's just absurdly delightful 😂. I was genuinely surprised it could side hill at all!

Funny how RTR spares from a few other rigs completely turned that thing around. Love the van body with the steelies.

Carisma is underrated. The axle shape and chassis flex is key along with lack of torque twist. Needs upgraded steering from carisma for $50

Nice upgrades, I've just done the ATT Transmission kit on my Coyote and Holmes 550 motor. World of difference on crawling. Right about the carisma servo, changed mine out too.

My favorite HH motor is the Crawlmaster 550 Sport 10t.
Glad you are exploring smaller tires. I love the challenge they provide.

I'm going to try out a Trailmaster Sport 550 27T, as I've only used Crawlmasters and Torquemasters in the past. At least trying to keep this one economical, so definitely staying brushed.

(00:30) What a "great" & simple feature to have incorporated in most crawlers, which I believe should be an optional & changeable function, for a few legit reasons !! Like to reduce or eliminate torque-twist, while helping to maintain a well-planted rig, especially when under load/throttle !!! 😁 So if this awesome function was "at least offered", a 5-gear layout, with (an option to remove the fifth-gear), so owners would already have the factory option, right out of the box !!! ... Oh, wait, I almost forgot about Axial's new-ish SCX10 III Basecamp has a 5-gear arrangement, but the fifth gear (for those who don't know), is for use with the stock portal-axles, to allow proper rotation of the transmission output shafts, and if the owner decides to change to the Axial Straight-Axle & Shocks Kit, then just remove/flip that fifth gear and the rotation will sync-up for the correct drivetrain rotation. 😉👍
    - Main point here, (to be continued...)

still to this day I cannot figure out why the anti-torque-twist gearbox isn't just an industry standard. Traxxas got really close, with the design of the TRX-4 box-- if it had an even number of gears in the attached transfer case, bam, ATT.

Keeping the hobby fun and entertaining! 👍. What site did you go through to purchase the kit. I’m envisioning the loss of stripes for several kids bikes strapped to the body.
    Enjoyed it…..

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  Před 2 lety

I got it through Hobby Recreation Products (HRP), which has a good bit of Carisma stuff.

First off. Love your commentary delivery. Will you be going to any events in CA this year?

So far as I know, there's not really anything local to me. Some stuff up in the high desert, but the motivation to drive 2 hours each way is pretty low when I can just walk into the back yard.

That just ain’t right, vans don’t go off road like that. Not to mention how many 4wd vans have you seen? LOL!! Your Wolf van does look cool out there on the rocks.

@@CrawlerCanyon that's it that's the one that's a very good video I love your commentary but really it just goes to show you what you can do if you put your mind to it. I'm currently executing my second attempt for a crawler course in my backyard. My first attempt was abandoned and all of my material was giving away. Do I have access to the course it was used on thank goodness. This time I'm determined and I'm looking for ideas on how to lay my new material to create the obstacles thank you so much for your response.

Hey I was watching this video and you made an offer to send that junk to someone if they ask for it I'm a new and upcoming RC Enthusiast who enjoys building modifying upgrading not only cars but my own crawling course as well I would be interested in anything and everything you'd be willing to part with
