Mishimoto Aluminum Coolant Reservoir & 180 Thermostat Install | Coolant Flush | Chrysler 300 SRT8

  • My factory coolant overflow reservoir had a small leak. So I decided I might as well upgrade. Mishimoto was the company I ended up using and getting a partial sponsorship from. While draining the system to install this expansion tank I decided to upgrade to a 180 degree thermostat and do a full coolant flush on the system. I hope you found the video helpful.

    Good Job Zack,I have done just about everything to make my 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8 6.4L; I am happy with the outcome of the addons...Catch Can, Cold Air Intake, Reservoir w/180 Thermostat and also the Aluminum Belly Pan and by the way Thanks for giving Us the Site to get the SPL. made Belly Pan "LOVE IT"... Now the last thing I need is a tune to get the Cooling Fans to come on sooner... So have Order a DiabloSport intune that will get the rest of the things I want taken care of... Thanks Again For All Your Help With Your Channel... Keep Up The Great Work... Don't Give Up... It is some of Us that Do Enjoy The Channel... DS

    Now that you have the 180 degree t-stat, did you also set your cooling fans to turn on at 180 degrees with your tuner?

      The thermostat I had when I first got my car had the temp at 204 then I replaced it with a jet 180 t-stat and now it runs at about 194.

      @@humanoid7765 Yeah I put the same one on and then it was like 3 months later it ran fine but it got stuck open , one day I'm on the freeway in traffic and my temperature skyrocket , Then I remember reading about Tuning for that and what could happen if I didn't . So I changed it back to a 204 and everything's been fine since

    Love your the Vlog as always quick question I have the same 392 SRT8 you do and I'm having a coolant leak issue I find it on the garage floor and I just bought a new Reservoir new radiator cap I put a 180 thermostat in it also their car in traffic at idle will get up to 2:10 to 2:15 is that normal but when I'm driving sometimes it goes below 170 any. Thoughts

    • @smoovedave
      @smoovedave Před 4 lety +1

      You didnt get the car tuned reason i can tell is when you sitting the fan hasn’t turned on yet its turning on as if the regular thermostat is still in the vehicle but when you get it tuned for the thermostat that’s when you’ll get the 180~ when idling because the fans will come on sooner when the car reaches 180 instead of 203 like th stock thermo
