  • Girona Spain. An incredible medieval city preserved in time. This city is literally like stepping back in time. Cobblestone streets, city walls and the best preserved Jewish quarter in Europe.
    In this episode we meet up with a local guide for a walking tour of the city where he shows us all of the Game of Thrones filming locations. We finish off by walking the city walls.

    The maintenance and appearance of the medieval area is so good, no wonder GOT shot their scenes here.

    I have never actually considered visiting Girona, but already from the first bits of B-Roll, it looks gorgeous!!! It looks like Game of Thrones filmed a lot in Spain! It literally does look like you've stepped back in time! Great information about the history!! Great vlog 😊

    You've had your leg pulled. Jews could leave their quarter as long as they wore distinctive clothes. It was locked down at night and usually all day on Good Friday.

    • @ACoupleOfKiwis
      @ACoupleOfKiwis  Před 2 lety

      Good saying! Leg pulled 🤣 our parents always used that saying too.
      We are just going of what the guide said. I guess everything you hear you have to take with a grain of salt

    • @theprotectedheart5712
      @theprotectedheart5712 Před 2 lety +1

      In the 15th C it was decreed that the Jews were not allowed to live outside the Jewish quarter. They had a badge sewn onto their clothes if they wanted to leave the area. There were many murders and massacres of Jewish people in their own community but at least in that area they had the protection of the king. I think the guide was being ‘theatrical’ & not trying to pull anyones leg. He maybe should have said that if they left they would be putting their lives at risk.
