Tuvi el honor de trabajar en la rehabilitación del museo judío de Girona en los años 2005 2004 por allí y es una joya en el barrio judío y el casco viejo de Girona recuerdos un saludo desde Tetuán Marruecos,aquí también tenemos el mellah que es el nombre de los barrios judíos y allí nací crecí incluso llegué a ver y conocer los últimos judíos que eran muy pocos y una señora mayor vecina casi siempre me besaba y me daba galletas saladas hechas por Ella y mi permitía pasar a su casa para bajar la pelota que nos quedaba colgada en su ático 😂 tuvi la suerte que otros no tenian
2:32, It is known as "The Disputation of Barcelona" (July 20-24, 1263). It was held at the royal palace of King James I of Aragon. The debate was with the Converso and apostate Pablo Christiani. Three points were discussed:
1. Whether the Messiah had appeared or not
2. Whether the Messiah is divine or human
3. Whether the Jews or the Christians held the true faith
Maimonides/Nachmanidies/Rambam won the debate! King James was so impressed that awarded the Rambam with 600 gold coins.
The most impressive thing was the King himself attended the synagogue on the Sabbath after the debate and addressed the Jewish congregants there, a thing unheard of during the Middle Ages.
A minor correction: along with the Chabad center, there is a small community of expat Jews drawn to live in the Old Quarter.
