Doune Castle (Winterfell) was used in the very first season episode 1. Also Monty Python Holy Grail and Ivanhoe among others too. It was 500-700 metres from my house growing up. I used to play there in the early 80s before it was as big a tourist attraction. I remember the sand pit near by too. God memories I used see it everyday going to Doune nursery and primary school.
Damn it musta been really cool for you to see a place so close to you in such big shows. I live in the US/florida, the only thing near me that I know is on TV is the football stadium xD

Fun fact! The place they used to film the Purple wedding used to be the place they hung people for executions, at least that's what the tour guide said at least. Kind of find that sort poetic to say the least.

I live in Croatia, in it's capital city, Zagreb, but since 2015 I visit Dubrovnik every winter and summer and walk around, searching for locations which were used in Game of Thrones. I love my country, and I love Game of Thrones, so living in Croatia is truly a win-win.

I've been to Dubrovnik and walked the streets of Old town (kings landing), gorgeous place to visit
if you decide to go to dubrovnik i can also suggest going to the island lokrum which is a 15 minute boat ride they also shot a few scenes there. besides its breath taking also the bunnies are cute and the peacock males are beautifull

you forgot Malta which had some of the best scenes in season 1 like where khaleesi was raped by khal drogo, where littel finger had his brothel also where Ned stark and Jamie had their fight scene and also where cersei said the famous quote "in the game of thrones you either live or die" and so much more .....
I have been to Gozo where most the dothraki scenes were filmed it was brilliant.

Pro tip: Don't actually bother with most of these in peak holiday time, they're overrun with tourists for this very reason. Go to nearby places if you just wanna see the geography or whatever, but otherwise these places are just completely full of loud crowds of people bumping into each other and shit.
Sept of Baelior is in Kings Landing
You can visit Dubrovnik for a weekend, anything more than that and you'll be bored. Better to spend the rest of the time you have in other great places in Croatia.

Well Joffrey is the blonde boy who's a Lannister and the main antagonist apart from Cersei and Ramsay. Varys isn't blonde he's bald, he the Eunuch but the actor, conleth Hill has blonde hair I guess. Don't know about any try not to get mad but hope this helps. The actor who plays Joffrey is named Jak Gleeson although he doesn't act anymore, gave it up for his university career I believe.
you know, many people speculate that Varys is bold because he is secretly a Blackfyre or Targaryen, to hide his blond hair. Also he is quite evil, he is similar to Littlefinger, but his main targets were mainly Lannisters (Tywin's death and in the books Kevan's death). The difference between those 2 is timing. Varys wanted the chaos to be postponed, when it's a good time for Dany/fAegon to invade.
Joffrey is a psychopatic weak kid, that got never a real education and thinks he can do what he wants, because his parents messed up.
