I have owned one personally for over a year, and noticed mine leaves carpet fibers behind when I clean ....and it just occurred to me that maybe it needs cleaning. (Duh!). I have never used one of these (yet), but I've read that the power of the brush bar and suction are so strong that loose fibers left behind by normal vacuums will get pulled up into little wads that roll up and accumulate sometimes. Seems like something going wrong at first, but is actually just a sign of it's power.
There is a small plastic piece that dangles off the hose, water gets trapped in there- how do you clean it? I tried pulling it on it but the black chord just stretched.
Is there a way to shut off the vacuum suction so you can use the scrubbing brush by itself to agitate the pretreatment chemical on carpet? All pretreatment chemicals say to agitate carpet and wait 10-15min before extraction.

The best I have ever seen, the demonstration was great and it gave me a challenge to repair my carpet cleaner. I will be back.
You’re missing the other part underneath the part you used to clean with a butter knife. There’s another slit that needs clean

No way to shut the flow of water off. I have this unit and love it. Both water and brushes work together.
