- The Alabama Senate Special Election shouldn't have even been close. President Donald Trump beat Hillary Clinton by 28 points in the state, and one of the reasons Jeff Sessions was chosen to be Attorney General was because his Senate seat should’ve been easy for the Republican Party to the defend.
But allegations that Judge Roy Moore’s had improper contact with teenage girls changed the race. Both Moore and Democrat candidate Doug Jones tried to keep the race focused inwardly on Alabama-even as both brought in outside help. On the Republican side, Moore had Trump strategist Steve Bannon stump for him. Jones welcomed former Vice President Joe Biden and a slew of African American political leaders. But both seemed to know the same thing: that this race would ultimately be decided by the people of Alabama, on their own terms, for their own reasons.
VICE News teams were on the ground in Alabama to hear from voters about the choice they were facing in the final days and hours before Jones's knife-edge win.

As a liberal, I love the conservative radio show host that actually had some common sense. Wish everyone was like him. Even though he chose not to vote against Roy Moore, he sure as hell chose not to vote for him and I respect that.

Yeah, because while I am for the guy losing. To me it seems like he lost because he took the victory as a given. Which will lead to a given amount of voters, not vote because they think their vote isnt needed.

It would force US pharma to lower their prices..., but guess who Cory Bookers biggest donors are? Big pharam and because of that he had some "excuse" to not help in the vote.
Didn't he end up voting for a similar bill with Bernie after some modifications? It felt more like he was walking back so not to look like his vote was influenced like you say but at least he voted for it

Thank Goodness Democrat Doug Jones beat out Republican Roy Moore in that race. It was unfortunate however that Jones lost reelection just a few years later.

I think if you hold the view that abortion is murder, I can see why people would have grudgingly voted for Moore. I don't agree with that at all, but I can at least understand it.
