  • See how easy it is to change the oil on a Honda CB500X with a Rally Raid engine guard installed. You can skip the tin foil scupper it ain't that messy.
    Here's some additional helpful comments from Jenny Morgan...
    Another great video... and Pete is just adorable! - I can't wait to see him doing his own videos when he gets his first bike - maybe a Z50R ;o)
    As for the pin at the rear of the guard, as you highlight, these will be supplied in plain stainless steel in future to ensure they slip in and out of the frame easily.
    "I would also add that it is a good idea to back off the two front engine bolts a turn or two to aid the pivoting down of the guard - I surprised you were able to pivot it with them at the correct torque - I'd be worried that the powder coating was getting chewed doing it that way?
    Keep up the fantastic work Juan!"

    Good work buddy. I've got my RR bash plate on order. This was a small worry of mine, thinking I'd have to take the whole sucker off but this proves there's no need. Thanks again.

    the filter fits into the existing air filter and pocks in through the hole and screws on , then just pull it out and air hose it and put back in initial cost is large but being able to reuse it is the bonus

    Thanks man. All done. Just to confirn rally raid have removed the powder coating layer. The Bash plate fastener slots right back in easily.

    Brian, id give the fumoto oil drain valve a try. With a hose attached, you might not have to drop the bash plate at all.

    Thank you very much for all these fantastic videos! Does the engine guard have the propper dimensions so that if you drop the bike to either side, no parts of the engine will touch the ground?

    • @blancolirio
      @blancolirio  Před 7 lety +1

      Yes, the handle bars/brush guards help too. We've dropped these bikes alot and have yet to hit the engine....be careful you dont 'case' it so hard that you shear the engine mount bolt where the forward bash plate mounts.

    I'm curious. Does the new crush washer come with the oil filter? It looks like it was taped on outside of the plastic wrap of the filter but it's hard to tell.

    Hey do you still have this bike and if so ever have an issue with the crash bars mounted to the engine block? I have been thinking of this bike due to lower weight but I'm concerned with cracking the block on a hard off. Thanks for any feedback.

  • @joshgrami

    So when you top it off using the breather glass, the bike doesn't have to be level? (Is it designed to be done while on the kickstand?)

    • @blancolirio
      @blancolirio  Před 8 lety +1

      The bike should be level to determine proper oil level in the glass.

    I bought a used (7 miles) and now ( 430) miles the skid pan/bash plate vibrates. Took a while to pinpoint the problem but welds are junk. The rear rack cut the seat in 2 places, I'm done with RR. I thought they did all the R&D but it looks like not so much. I have e mailed them several times and got no response, I guess customer service is not there strong point either. Must be marketing

  • @geofferyrobertson6608

    sorry that sump guard was $395 AU

  • @geofferyrobertson6608

    SRC Adventure Moto are a Australian company located in Brisbane. , check there web site out , they make all this stuff themselves , have a real good ONE piece crash bars TOP and BOTTOM

    Hi Juan, I saw you used a crocodile wrench (I think that is what it is called) and thought you might like to check out Knipex's Pliers Wrench: czcams.com/video/7Z7_NpmUuKA/video.html and the Pliers Wrench Mini: czcams.com/video/9UT96PQiK-g/video.html
    For that small space I reckon the Mini will do the trick awesomely.
    Thanks for your awesome videos on the RR 500x.
    Nick

    should only do hand tight then you don't need multi grips to get it off
